Medical and Martial God

Chapter 140: Chapter 140 The Puppet Master Reveals Himself

Ye Xiu and Ming Yue arrived at the back door of Warehouse No. 3 in Jin Ye City Harbor.

”Go in. Qin Qing and the Qin family are all inside,” Ming Yue said with a sinister smile.

Ye Xiu remained silent, his face cold as he walked in.

The warehouse was huge, with goods piled up everywhere. The Qin family members were trussed up and sitting in a corner, all of them bruised and swollen. They had clearly been beaten severely.

Nearby, a group of people was chatting idly. They were, in fact, the very same people who had framed Ye Xiu behind the scenes in Jin Ye City all those years ago.

”Ye Xiu is here! Haha, Ye Xiu is here!”

Upon seeing Ye Xiu, the entire Qin family grew agitated.

”Ming Hao, you said you’d let us go as long as Ye Xiu came! He’s here now, so hurry up and untie us!” Qin Fugui, Qin Qing’s grandfather, exclaimed.

”Old Qin, Ye Xiu is your son-in-law, after all. Are you really that eager to save your own skin, leaving him to die?” Ming Hao asked with a smile.

”Son-in-law, my ass! I never acknowledged him! I wish he’d drop dead already,” Qin Fugui cursed.

”Ye Xiu is a jinx who only brings disaster to our Qin family! We were all against his relationship with Qin Qing from the start,” said Qin Anruo.

”My father expelled Qin Qing from the Qin family long ago. Her business with Ye Xiu has nothing to do with us, so don’t drag innocent people into this,” said Qin Zhongwu, Qin Qing’s uncle.

The other members of the Qin family also hurled insults at Ye Xiu, desperate to distance themselves from him. Only Qin Qing’s parents remained silent throughout the tirade.

Ye Xiu watched their disgusting faces with cold disdain. If it weren’t for Qin Qing, he would have sent this trash to the City of Asura to mine long ago.

”All of you, shut up,” Ming Yue barked.

The terrified Qin family members immediately snapped their mouths shut.

”Where is Qin Qing?” Ming Yue asked Ming Hao.

Ye Xiu was also wondering the same thing. He couldn’t see her in the crowd.

”She hasn’t arrived yet,” Ming Hao replied.

”Impossible!” Ming Yue frowned. ”Xu Jinghao left before I did. This warehouse is closer to Zhulu Group than to Shenghe Medical College, so logically, he should have arrived at least half an hour before me.”

”Maybe Xu Jinghao couldn’t control himself and did something to Qin Qing on the way. That’s why he’s late,” Ming Hao suggested lewdly.

Ming Yue and the others all laughed. They knew Xu Jinghao had feelings for Qin Qing. After his unsuccessful pursuit, he developed a murderous grudge and had been trying to kill her for ten years, but he’d never succeeded.

”Ye Xiu, I bet you’re already picturing Xu Jinghao having his way with Qin Qing, aren’t you?” Ming Yue mocked.

”Since I’m here, it’s time for your backers to show themselves,” Ye Xiu said.

Ming Yue’s mouth curled into a mocking smile. ”Are you in such a hurry to die? Don’t worry. They’ll show up on their own once we’ve had our fun.”

”Fine,” Ye Xiu nodded. ”Then let the Qin family go.”

Qin Fugui quickly chimed in, ”That’s right! Your target is Ye Xiu. There’s no use in keeping us here. Hehe, you should just let us go.”

”Alright!” Ming Yue readily agreed. ”I can let you go. But first, each of you must slap Ye Xiu in the face. The first to slap him is the first to leave.”

The Qin family members grew excited upon hearing this.

”I’ll go first!” Qin Anruo jumped up, eager to get started.

”Hold on!” Ming Hao interjected. ”We’ll go first. You people can get in line.”

”That’s right, we’re first,” Li Bingliang added. ”This bastard Ye Xiu cut off my arm. Today, I’m going to give him a hundred slaps just to start settling the score.”

”Alright, you all go first. The Qin family can go last,” Ming Yue said cheerfully.

”I’ll start!” Ming Hao ran over and slapped Ye Xiu across the face.

He put all his strength into the slap, sending Ye Xiu staggering back several steps before he collapsed onto the ground. A trickle of blood oozed from the corner of his mouth.

Seeing this, Ming Yue started to laugh. Without his Martial Prowess, Ye Xiu was so fragile that even Ming Hao, who knew no Martial Arts, could fell him with a single slap.

”It’s my turn,” Li Bingliang said impatiently.

”Wait!”

Just then, a deep voice rang out.

Everyone turned to see seven masked, black-clothed figures approaching.

Seeing this, a barely perceptible cold smile touched Ye Xiu’s lips. The masterminds have finally shown themselves.

He asked, ”Are you the ones backing Ming Yue’s group?”

”Correct,” the leader of the masked men nodded.

”Just the seven of you?” Ye Xiu asked.

”Your Great Grandmaster level of Martial Prowess has been nullified by the Seven Deadly Pill,” the leader said with a laugh. ”Forget the seven of us; even one of us could kill you with ease.”

”If that’s the case, why haven’t you made a move yet?” Ye Xiu asked.

The leader chuckled. ”It seems you’re eager to die. But you’re probably going to be disappointed. We only want your left arm. As for your life, that belongs to Ming Yue and his people.”

Ming Yue said obsequiously, ”After you cut off his left arm, please stop the bleeding for him. I’m afraid he might die from blood loss before we get to have our fun.”

”Fine!” the leader readily agreed. He then ordered, ”Seventh Brother, go chop off Ye Xiu’s left arm.”

”Yes, Big Brother.”

The one called Seventh Brother boldly unsheathed his knife, walked up to Ye Xiu, and swung it at his left arm.

At this, Ming Yue and his men began to laugh, already picturing Ye Xiu’s left arm hitting the floor as blood spurted from the wound.

However, just as Seventh Brother’s knife was about to strike Ye Xiu’s left shoulder, the unexpected happened.

Ye Xiu, who had seemed unable to withstand even a slap from Ming Hao, suddenly lashed out with a kick. His foot shot out with lightning speed, many times faster than Seventh Brother’s descending knife.

THUD!

The kick struck Seventh Brother square in the chest, sending him flying backward. He landed at the feet of the other six masked men.

He convulsed violently a few times and then died.

”This...”

The faces of the six masked men and Ming Yue’s group turned pale.

”Your... your Martial Prowess hasn’t been nullified?” the leader of the masked men asked in shock.

”Impossible! I personally put the Seven Deadly Pill in the mineral water and watched Ye Xiu drink the entire bottle. He can’t possibly still have his Martial Prowess!” Ming Yue said in a panic.

Ye Xiu laughed. ”Sorry, I’m immune to all poisons!”

”Impossible, this can’t be...” Ming Hao stammered frantically. ”If you still had your Martial Prowess, how could I have knocked you to the ground with a slap? It’s impossible...”

”If I hadn’t put on a convincing act, how would these seven scumbags have shown themselves?” Ye Xiu sneered. ”Haven’t you figured it out? Even though they knew I took the Seven Deadly Pill, they were still worried my Martial Prowess wasn’t gone. It wasn’t until you slapped me that they were finally convinced I was powerless.”
