Medical and Martial God

Chapter 103: Chapter 103: Accidentally Caught Fire

Zuo Zhongzheng’s well-intentioned warning to Ye Xiu also served to remind Luo Qiwei.

”Give me the gun.”

Luo Qiwei snatched the pistol from the lawyer’s hand and aimed it at Ye Xiu. ”Ye Xiu, I know you practice Martial Arts, and you’re quite skilled at it. But no matter how good you are, can you dodge a bullet? Besides, these two friends of mine are both Ancient Martial Arts experts.”

The faces of the Zuo family members paled at his words. Even Zuo You and Zuo Song’er began to panic once more. They hadn’t expected that of the three people Luo Qiwei had brought, aside from the lawyer, the other two were actually Ancient Martial Arts experts.

”Big Brother, you have to get out of here...” Zuo Song’er, who had been crying in Ye Xiu’s arms, suddenly tried to push him away.

She couldn’t budge him an inch.

”It’s alright, don’t be afraid. Haven’t you noticed these two so-called Ancient Martial Arts experts are trembling?” Ye Xiu said comfortingly, patting Zuo Song’er on the back.

At his words, Zuo Song’er quickly looked toward the two men. Luo Qiwei, Zuo You, and the rest of the Zuo family turned to look as well.

Sure enough! The two Ancient Martial Arts experts wore grave expressions, their eyes filled with fear. Their legs were shaking so violently they looked like they were standing on a vibrating platform.

They couldn’t help but wonder. Two Ancient Martial Arts experts are actually afraid of Ye Xiu. Could he be an Ancient Martial Arts expert, too?

”You can’t beat him?” Luo Qiwei asked.

”He’s a Great Grandmaster,” one of the experts said, his voice trembling.

”What?” Luo Qiwei was scared half to death.

The Zuo family was utterly stunned. Ye Xiu is actually a Great Grandmaster? Heavens! The Medicine King, who stands at the peak of the Xuanse medical world, is also a top figure at the summit of the Ancient Martial Circle!

”Even a Great Grandmaster is made of flesh and blood. Can he really dodge bullets?” As his shock and fear subsided, the gun in Luo Qiwei’s hand renewed his courage.

However, the words had barely left his mouth when Ye Xiu’s figure vanished from his sight. The next moment, Ye Xiu had somehow appeared right beside him, and the pistol that was in his hand was now in Ye Xiu’s.

”A handgun is certainly powerful. In a sneak attack, most Ancient Martial Arts experts would be hit. But in a face-to-face confrontation, especially at this close a range, it’s nothing more than a piece of scrap metal to an Ancient Martial Arts expert,” Ye Xiu said with a smile, toying with the pistol.

”You’re amazing, Big Brother!” Zuo Song’er said adoringly.

Zuo You and the rest of the Zuo family broke into smiles, immensely surprised and relieved by Ye Xiu’s strength. The Zuo family’s crisis tonight was finally over!

Luo Qiwei, the lawyer, and the two Ancient Martial Arts experts, however, were petrified.

”What... what do you want?” Luo Qiwei asked, forcing himself to speak through his fear.

Ye Xiu ignored him and turned to Zuo Song’er. ”Song’er, what do you think I should do with him?”

”You decide, Big Brother,” Zuo Song’er said.

”Do you all feel the same?” Ye Xiu asked, looking at Zuo You and the other family members.

They all turned to look at Zuo Zhongzheng. As much of a beast as Luo Qiwei was, he was still Zuo Zhongzheng’s son.

”Spare his life,” Zuo Zhongzheng sighed.

Luo Qiwei was overjoyed. I thought he would ask Ye Xiu to kill me! As long as I’m alive, I have a chance for a comeback! After all, I still have a powerful ally in Dragon Hollyhock.

”Alright,” Ye Xiu nodded. ”Then what about these three?”

”You may do as you see fit,” Zuo Zhongzheng said.

The lawyer and the two experts were terrified. The lawyer hastily pleaded, ”I’m a lawyer! Murder is illegal! If you dare to kill me, you’ll go to jail...”

BANG!

A tongue of flame shot out from the pistol in Ye Xiu’s hand, and a bullet struck the lawyer precisely between the eyebrows.

”Oops, my apologies. The gun went off by accident. I’m not very good with these things!” Ye Xiu said, quickly apologizing.

The lawyer’s eyes widened as he fell to the ground with a thud. In his last moment of consciousness, he cursed internally. You hit me square between the eyes, you motherfucker! What the hell are you apologizing for?!

Luo Qiwei and the Zuo family jumped in shock, not expecting Ye Xiu to actually kill someone.

The moment Ye Xiu fired, however, the two Ancient Martial Arts experts reacted as if on cue, turning tail and sprinting for the door. They didn’t believe for a second that the gun had gone off by accident. As a Great Grandmaster, killing the lawyer—or us—wouldn’t cause him the slightest psychological hesitation. Knowing we’re outmatched, escaping is the only smart move!

However, just as they reached the door, they were sent flying back. Two figures had appeared at the doorway, seemingly out of nowhere.

”What were you thinking?” Ye Xiu chuckled. ”Since I came all this way, did you really think I’d let you escape?”

He casually kicked the two Ancient Martial Arts experts, knocking them unconscious, then said to his two subordinates at the door, ”Take them back for a thorough interrogation. I want to know how many accomplices they have in Jin Ye City.”

”Yes, sir!”

The two subordinates immediately dragged away the two unconscious men and the lawyer’s body.

Only then did Luo Qiwei and the Zuo family realize that Ye Xiu had not come alone.

”Big Brother, how did you know our family was in danger?” With the crisis resolved, Zuo Song’er reverted to her usual innocent and adorable self.

”That’s right, Big Brother. We went our separate ways right after dinner. How did you know we were in trouble and manage to get here just in time?” Zuo You asked.

”I guessed that Luo Qiwei and Dragon Hollyhock would make a move against you tonight. The only reason I left you after dinner was to lure them out. If I had stayed with you, Luo Qiwei would never have dared to show his face,” Ye Xiu explained.

Realization dawned on Zuo You and Zuo Song’er.

”Big Brother, you cured Song’er’s heart condition, helped our family resolve a major scandal, exposed Dragon Hollyhock and Luo Qiwei’s true colors, and now you’ve saved our entire family. I truly don’t know how we can ever thank you,” Zuo You said sincerely.

”Divine Doctor Ye, your kindness to the Zuo family is as high as the heavens and as deep as the earth. In the future, should you ever need us, the Zuo family will go through fire and water for you,” Zuo You’s grandfather said gratefully.

The other members of the Zuo family also came forward to express their thanks. They simply owed Ye Xiu too much and had no idea how they could possibly repay him.

”Consider it fate that I met Song’er and Zuo You. I didn’t help you expecting anything in return, so please don’t trouble yourselves over it,” Ye Xiu said, waving his hand dismissively. ”Alright, it’s getting late, and I should be heading back.”

”But Big Brother, you just got here! Why don’t you stay a bit longer?” Zuo Song’er pleaded, unwilling to see him go.

The rest of the Zuo family also urged him to stay. They were eager to spend more time with such a legendary figure.

”I still have things to do. I’ll come visit another day,” Ye Xiu said.

”Oh, alright then,” Zuo Song’er pouted.

”What are you still standing there for? Move it!” Ye Xiu barked, slapping Luo Qiwei on the back of the head.

Luo Qiwei: ”...”

The Zuo family escorted Ye Xiu and Luo Qiwei to the villa’s gate, watching until Ye Xiu’s car disappeared into the distance.

Zuo You’s grandfather said, ”Now that is a true dragon among men. Zuo You, Song’er, you must take Divine Doctor Ye as your role model and learn from his example.”

”Big Brother is my idol,” Zuo You declared. ”He’s the standard I’ll measure my life by.”

”By the way, I wonder if Divine Doctor Ye is married,” Zuo Zhongzheng mused. ”If not, I wonder if he might be interested in our Song’er.”

The eyes of the Zuo family lit up.

”If Ye Xiu became my grandson-in-law,” Zuo You’s grandfather said with a chuckle, ”heh, that would mean our family’s ancestors were truly smiling down on us.”

”Grandfather! Dad! You guys are terrible...” Zuo Song’er protested, so embarrassed she nearly buried her face in her collar.

”Hahaha...” The Zuo family laughed heartily. From her reaction, they could tell she already had feelings for Ye Xiu.
