Medical and Martial God

Chapter 121: Chapter 121: The First Confrontation between Ghost Doctor and Miyamoto Satoshi

Miyamoto Satoshi checked Take Shitamura’s injuries, his expression turning exceedingly grim. He hadn’t expected Take Shitamura to be so severely wounded.

”I need the relevant departments of Shenghe Hospital to cooperate with me in conducting a full-body examination on Take Shitamura,” Miyamoto Satoshi said, his face dark. ”First, administer a shot of cardiac stimulant to stabilize him. Then, I need to know the condition of his bones, muscles, internal organs, and brain...”

”You must be a fake Sang Jing Medicine King, right?” the Ghost Doctor asked.

Miyamoto Satoshi was taken aback. ”What do you mean?”

”Do you really need help with the things you just mentioned? I can diagnose such minor matters all by myself. It seems the gap between our medical skills is quite large,” the Ghost Doctor said with disdain.

”Ghost Doctor!” Miyamoto Satoshi snapped. ”A man’s life is at stake! Is this the time for jokes and bragging?”

”You assume others are bragging just because you can’t do it yourself. I see your medical skills aren’t the only thing that’s lacking; your perspective is just as narrow.” The Ghost Doctor sarcastically dismissed Miyamoto Satoshi and, pushing him aside, said, ”Watch closely. Today, I’ll show you something that will open your eyes.”

With that, he took Take Shitamura’s pulse. Miyamoto Satoshi didn’t stop him. Instead, he watched coldly from the side, intending to wait until the Ghost Doctor failed to find anything before mercilessly mocking and belittling him.

”Tsk, tsk, these injuries are simply horrendous.” After taking the pulse, the Ghost Doctor said, ”Seventy-nine fractures throughout the body, a severe concussion, myocardial tears, liver and gallbladder damage, internal bleeding in the stomach, nearly all facial nerves and blood vessels severely traumatized, ruptured vocal cords...”

Hearing the Ghost Doctor finish, Miyamoto Satoshi laughed as if he were looking at an idiot. ”Ghost Doctor, you must have talked your way into your ’Divine Doctor’ reputation. You put your hand on Take Shitamura’s wrist for a few minutes and claim you can diagnose his condition? Do you take me for an idiot?”

The Ghost Doctor didn’t argue. He just shrugged and said, ”You can take Take Shitamura for a full-body examination now. Everyone and every department in Shenghe Hospital will fully cooperate with you.”

So he was just bluffing. Seeing the Ghost Doctor’s response, Miyamoto Satoshi assumed he hadn’t been able to diagnose Take Shitamura’s injuries, which was why he was being told to take the man for a proper examination. He scoffed and hurriedly took Take Shitamura away to be examined.

With each test performed, Miyamoto Satoshi grew more shocked. He discovered the doctors at Shenghe Hospital were true professionals, every last one a seasoned expert. Moreover, the hospital’s medical equipment was so advanced; there were devices he had never seen or even heard of before. Despite his constant disdain for Xuansi Medical Skills, he had to painfully admit that Shenghe Hospital was the best hospital he had ever seen.

In less than two hours, the full-body examination was complete, and the results were ready. The speed, efficiency, and precision were staggering, making Miyamoto Satoshi feel that, compared to Shenghe Hospital, the medical standards in Sang Jing were no better than a village clinic’s.

However, when Miyamoto Satoshi saw the examination results, his expression instantly froze as if he had been struck by lightning.

”Is there any part of the examination results that differs from my diagnosis?” the Ghost Doctor asked with a smile.

Miyamoto Satoshi didn’t answer, his face a mask of shock and disbelief. He found that the examination results matched the Ghost Doctor’s diagnosis perfectly, without the slightest discrepancy.

Heavens! The Ghost Doctor had only taken Take Shitamura’s pulse for a few minutes, yet his diagnosis was identical to the results from nearly two hours of scans with advanced medical equipment. It was simply inconceivable.

”You came all this way, acting so high and mighty to challenge me, making sure everyone in both our countries knew about it. Regretting it now, aren’t you?” the Ghost Doctor asked teasingly.

Regret? Heh. Miyamoto Satoshi was sick with regret. Before coming to Jin Ye City, he hadn’t given the Ghost Doctor a second thought. His target was Ye Xiu, the Medicine King of Xuanse. He had come to humiliate Ye Xiu and Xuansi Medical Skills. But before he had even met Ye Xiu, he had already been thoroughly humiliated by the Ghost Doctor.

My medical skills are no match for the Ghost Doctor’s, Miyamoto Satoshi mused. I can challenge Ye Xiu first. If I can beat the Medicine King of Xuanse, I can just unilaterally cancel the challenge against the Ghost Doctor. After all, Ye Xiu’s status and prestige in the Xuanse medical world are much higher than the Ghost Doctor’s. This is a classic case of picking the softest target.

”Whose medical skills are greater, yours or Ye Xiu’s?” he asked.

”Ye Xiu is my master. My medical skills are not one ten-thousandth of his,” the Ghost Doctor said.

”What?” Miyamoto Satoshi exclaimed. ”The Xuanse Medicine King Ye Xiu is your master?”

Heavens! Ye Xiu was a prodigy who had claimed the crown of Xuanse Medicine King at sixteen, and he was only twenty-six now. Yet he had already trained such a master of the Medicine Path as the Ghost Doctor. The man was simply a monster.

Miyamoto Satoshi suddenly felt as if his face was being ground into the dirt. Just moments ago, I was thinking of picking Ye Xiu as the soft target, but it turns out he’s even tougher than the Ghost Doctor. This is a huge mess! I marched in here with a medical delegation to challenge the Ghost Doctor and humiliate the Xuanse medical world. What happens if I’m the one who ends up slinking back to my country in disgrace?

”By the way, when do you plan to challenge me?” the Ghost Doctor asked teasingly.

Miyamoto Satoshi was speechless.

Challenge him? My ass! Am I looking for a beating?

Wait! An idea suddenly struck Miyamoto Satoshi. If the Ghost Doctor can’t show up on the day of the challenge, wouldn’t I win by default? Yes! That’s what I’ll do! I have to find a way to prevent the Ghost Doctor from attending the competition. Then I can claim he chickened out. That would give me even more prestige than winning directly and would be an even bigger blow to the Xuanse medical world.

At this thought, Miyamoto Satoshi smiled. ”I will hold a press conference this afternoon to formally announce my challenge to you. The day of our competition will be one week from today.”

The Ghost Doctor was stunned. ”You know you’re bound to lose, but you still want to challenge me? You old fool, do you have a self-destructive hobby or something?”

”You...” Furious at being publicly humiliated, Miyamoto Satoshi raged, ”You’ll pay for your rudeness today.”

He turned to leave.

”Wait!” The Ghost Doctor stopped him. ”Take Take Shitamura with you.”

”He’s so severely injured. Where am I supposed to take him?” Miyamoto Satoshi frowned.

”You can leave him with me. The consultation fee is 10,000,000. Pay now, or I’ll have to pack him up for you to take away,” the Ghost Doctor stated.

”You...” Miyamoto Satoshi was outraged. The Ghost Doctor was blatantly extorting him. But he still agreed. ”Where do I pay?”

As a Seventh Grade master, Take Shitamura was worth far more than 10,000,000. Besides, Miyamoto Satoshi couldn’t just disregard his fate, given Take Shitamura’s significant influence in the Sangjing Ninja World.

”Take Mr. Miyamoto to make the payment,” the Ghost Doctor said cheerfully to a nearby doctor. He then began treating Take Shitamura’s injuries.

He was well aware that Miyamoto Satoshi hoped to buy a healthy Take Shitamura for 10,000,000, but he had no intention of letting him get his way. I’ll heal him, but I’ll also cripple his Kung Fu.

「...」

At that moment, Ye Xiu was searching everywhere for the girl who had been knocked over by the black Mercedes. He first went to the surveillance room, where the footage showed that after being hit, the girl had simply gotten up as if nothing had happened and walked to the registration office for the Ancient Medicine major. After tracking her movements to a classroom where she met her class advisor and received a dorm key, Ye Xiu left the surveillance room and headed straight for the girls’ dormitory building.
