Chapter 114: Chapter 114 Waiting to Ambush Ye Xiu

Although Nie Tingting did not get along well with her father-in-law and mother-in-law, she still trusted them more than Ye Xiu, an outsider. ”You weren’t at the hotpot restaurant, so on what grounds are you claiming my mother-in-law isn’t telling the truth?” she demanded.

”I think you just want to stir up trouble between my wife and my mom! What are you up to, Ye Xiu?” Zhang Wenyi asked angrily.

Seeing her son and daughter-in-law believe her, Fang Meijun was overjoyed. She feigned indignation and said, ”You’re absolutely right, my son. Ye Xiu is trying to cause a rift between Tingting and me. He harbors malicious intentions. His heart is truly vile.”

Ye Xiu was truly fed up with the intelligence of this family of four. He couldn’t be bothered to explain further and simply gave the Ghost Doctor a meaningful look.

The Ghost Doctor immediately took out his phone, pulled up a video, and said, ”This is the surveillance footage from the hotpot restaurant. Take a look for yourselves.”

Zhang Wenyi and Nie Tingting hurriedly leaned in to watch.

Meanwhile, Fang Meijun and the old man panicked. They had never expected Ye Xiu to actually get his hands on the surveillance footage. It’s all over!

”You two old bastards!” After watching the video, Nie Tingting became like a furious lioness. She slapped both Fang Meijun and the old man hard across the face and roared, ”So it was you who harmed Nuonuo! I’ll—I’ll kill you!” With that, she lunged at Fang Meijun.

”Wait!” Zhang Wenyi grabbed Nie Tingting. ”Let’s ask about Nuonuo’s condition first.”

Only then did Nie Tingting snap back to her senses. She turned to Ye Xiu, her voice frantic. ”How is Nuonuo now?”

”Her injuries are severe,” Ye Xiu stated bluntly. ”One of her legs was broken. Her entire body was scalded by the boiling hotpot and burned by the spices. Her mouth and airway were also scalded and burned, and her eyes were destroyed.”

Zhang Wenyi and Nie Tingting stood there, completely stunned.

”Spicy burns? Nuonuo never eats spicy food! You two old bastards, you clearly just wanted hotpot for yourselves and dragged Nuonuo along! Then you caused a scene that left her in this state! I’ll kill you!” Nie Tingting went berserk. She kicked Fang Meijun to the ground, then pounced on her, unleashing a flurry of wild punches and scratching at her face with her Nine Yin White Bone Claw until it was a bloody mess.

Zhang Wenyi wasn’t idle, either. He knocked his father to the ground, pointed a finger in his face, and snarled, ”If Nuonuo doesn’t recover completely, you two can just wait to die.”

Ye Xiu and the Ghost Doctor watched the scene unfold with cold indifference. Like attracts like. This family has no trace of humanity. The grandparents endanger their own granddaughter, the son beats and threatens his own father, and the daughter-in-law brutalizes her mother-in-law. Heh!

Just then, an assistant wheeled a stretcher out of the operating room. At the sight, Fang Meijun’s family immediately stopped their brawl and rushed toward the stretcher.

”Don’t go near her,” Ye Xiu said, stepping in their way. ”Nuonuo’s injuries are extremely serious right now, and she needs to be moved to the intensive care unit immediately. Any bacteria you carry could be fatal to her, so you cannot see her for the time being.”

He was just bluffing to scare them. A family like this needed to be taught a harsh lesson.

His bluff worked. Upon hearing his words, Fang Meijun’s family panicked.

”Divine Doctor Ye, please, I beg you, save my daughter! Please...” Nie Tingting knelt on the floor, crying and pleading.

Zhang Wenyi, Fang Meijun, and the old man all knelt down to beg as well.

”Don’t worry,” Ye Xiu said with a faint smile. ”I can cure Nuonuo and restore her to exactly how she was before. The prerequisite is that you bring me two million.”

”Wasn’t it one million just now?” Fang Meijun asked.

”It was. But because you threw a tantrum and tried to weasel out of it, the price has gone up,” Ye Xiu said coldly.

SLAP!

Nie Tingting shot up, slapped Fang Meijun across the face, and kicked her over. ”You old hag! Didn’t you just say you never agreed to pay Divine Doctor Ye a fee? Now he wants two million! Where am I supposed to get two million?”

Zhang Wenyi pointed at his parents’ faces and yelled, ”I don’t care what you have to do! Even if you have to sell your blood and your kidneys, you will get that two million for me! Otherwise, you can just prepare to die!”

Fang Meijun and the old man collapsed onto the ground, crying in despair. In that moment, they were consumed by a profound regret. If they hadn’t extorted 100,000 from Ye Xiu ten years ago, if they hadn’t slandered and cursed him everywhere, he wouldn’t be making things so difficult for them now. Unfortunately, there was no medicine for regret in this world.

Ye Xiu and the Ghost Doctor watched the despairing couple with cold detachment, feeling not a shred of pity. Pitiful people always have a detestable side. The despicable character of Fang Meijun’s family had doomed them to a bleak fate.

As Ye Xiu and the Ghost Doctor were leaving, the Ghost Doctor asked, ”Master, the Sang Jing medical delegation has already arrived in Jin Ye City. Why hasn’t Miyamoto Satoshi come to challenge me yet?”

”This morning after school, when Murong and I went to the supermarket, I skimmed the chat logs for the ’Kill Ye Xiu Fund Group.’ It seems Dragon Hollyhock and Kuroki Suzu plan to unite all my enemies in Jin Ye City and use them against me,” Ye Xiu explained.

”What does that have to do with Miyamoto Satoshi?” the Ghost Doctor asked.

”Uniting those hidden players isn’t easy. Kuroki Suzu is providing them with muscle, while Miyamoto Satoshi is representing the Sang Jing’s Rongfu Consortium to acquire their businesses. Until all of that is done, he won’t have time to challenge you,” Ye Xiu said.

”The new students start arriving tomorrow, and classes begin the day after. I’ll be too busy to entertain him anyway,” the Ghost Doctor said with a smile.

”Make sure everything is arranged for the start of the semester. That includes the military training,” Ye Xiu instructed.

”Don’t worry,” the Ghost Doctor replied. He had already prepared everything.

Ye Xiu nodded, confident in the Ghost Doctor’s ability to handle things. After giving the Ghost Doctor a few more extremely urgent instructions to have Mo Luo and Gong Jin accelerate their search for the Twin Devils of Mo Bei, Ye Xiu left the Saint Peace Medical Academy.

He stopped at a meat sandwich stall near the school gate, bought two, and ate them. Then he drove toward the Zhulu Group to pick up Qin Qing from work. Just as he was about to arrive, he received a call from Chloe.

”Young Master, a couple in their fifties have snuck onto the island. They’re lying in ambush on the rooftop of the villa where you and the Young Madam live. They’re armed. It seems they’ve accepted a bounty and are waiting to ambush you when you return.”

A middle-aged couple? So the Twin Devils of Mo Bei have come to my home. Ye Xiu laughed.

”Don’t alert them,” he ordered. ”I’ll deal with them personally when I get back.”

”Understood!” Chloe replied.

The Twin Devils of Mo Bei could never have imagined that Ye Xiu already knew of their whereabouts. It wasn’t entirely their fault. Although they were from out of town, finding Ye Xiu’s address in Jin Ye City was incredibly easy. A little small talk with almost anyone would reveal it. However, very few people, even locals, knew that the entire island belonged to Ye Xiu. Most assumed that only the villa where he and Qin Qing lived was his home. Of course, neither the Twin Devils of Mo Bei nor the people of Jin Ye City could have possibly guessed that the twenty maids, chefs, and other staff living on the island were all master fighters. No intruder could sneak onto the island without being spotted by Chloe and her people, so this flawed intelligence doomed their confident ambush to failure from the start.
