Medical and Martial God

Chapter 139: Chapter 139 Kidnappers Kidnapped

”I hope you will keep your promise!”

Ye Xiu took the bottle and, without hesitation, drank all the water, not leaving a single drop.

”Hahahaha...” Seeing this, Ming Yue burst into excited laughter. ”Ye Xiu, ten years ago I made you infamous throughout the country and drove you overseas. Today, ten years later, you have ultimately met your ruin at my hands. Ye Xiu, I am your nemesis.”

”What good are your peerless medical skills? What does it matter that you have the strength of a Great Grandmaster? In my eyes, you are nothing but a loser. Even if I gave you another ten years, you wouldn’t be my match.”

Exhilarating! Utterly triumphant!

Before Ye Xiu drank the water, Ming Yue had postured as a victor, holding Qin Qing and the Qin Family hostage. In reality, she was terrified. She was afraid that Ye Xiu would disregard the lives of Qin Qing and the Qin Family, afraid he would rather fight to the bitter end.

At this moment, Ming Yue felt a weight lift from her shoulders. The fear buried deep in her heart vanished completely. She even felt a sense of accomplishment for having destroyed an unparalleled genius.

Awesome!

”You said that after I drank the water, you would take me to see Qin Qing and the Qin Family. You’re not going back on your word, are you?” Ye Xiu asked, his expression dark.

”I am a person of my word. I will take you to find Qin Qing right now,” Ming Yue replied with a smile, eager to witness Ye Xiu’s pain and madness.

Meanwhile, Qin Qing was sitting in the back seat of a black, unlicensed Chevrolet. She was resting with her eyes closed, her expression remarkably calm. It had only been half an hour since she had left the Zhulu Group, and they had not yet reached their destination.

”Aren’t you going to say anything?” Xu Jinghao, the driver, couldn’t help but ask.

He had assumed that once Qin Qing learned her family had been kidnapped, she would burst into tears and beg him to let them go, perhaps even offering to sleep with him. Instead, after getting into the car, she had simply given him a look as if he were an idiot, then closed her eyes and remained silent.

”I don’t feel like talking to an idiot,” Qin Qing replied, her expression and tone reverting to the icy coldness she possessed before Ye Xiu returned to the country.

If it were an ordinary girl, having her family kidnapped and finding herself in such a predicament would have sent her into a panic. But Qin Qing was no ordinary woman. A decade ago, she had stood by Ye Xiu as they faced humanity’s ugliest aspects. For the last ten years, while trying to seek justice and revenge for Ye Xiu, she had been frequently hounded by Xu Jinghao with various plots, including assassination attempts, poisonings, and staged car accidents. Her psychological fortitude and adaptability had been forged far beyond the ordinary. Even those brutes from the Red Flame Army, aside from their martial prowess, might not match Qin Qing in other qualities.

”You...” Xu Jinghao was furious. ”Qin Qing, you need to recognize your situation! Right now, your life and the lives of your family are in my hands. You’d better not provoke me.”

Qin Qing opened her eyes and said probingly, ”You’re just a posturing clown. Without orders from the person pulling your strings, would you dare lay a finger on me?”

Xu Jinghao fell silent. For the time being, he indeed didn’t dare to harm Qin Qing. Still puzzled, he asked, ”How did you know someone was behind me?”

Qin Qing’s eyes sharpened. So Xu Jinghao really does have backing.

”When the Xu Family was at its peak, you tried to kill me for ten years and never even grazed a hair on my head,” she said. ”Now that Ye Xiu has already treated you like a dog, you have neither the ability nor the guts to kidnap my family.”

”Aren’t you clever,” Xu Jinghao scoffed. ”Then do you know why we kidnapped the Qin Family?”

”Your real target isn’t the Qin Family or me. It’s Ye Xiu, isn’t it?” Qin Qing continued to probe, all while acting as if she had seen right through him.

”That’s right,” Xu Jinghao admitted frankly. ”Whether it’s me, all the people from Jin Ye City who framed Ye Xiu ten years ago, or the people backing us, our target has never been you or the Qin Family. Kidnapping your family was a way to lure you into a trap. With you in our grasp, Ye Xiu is bound to surrender.”

”Can you tell me who is behind you?” Qin Qing asked.

”You’re already in my hands, so there’s no harm in telling you,” Xu Jinghao said. ”We’re backed by the Ancient Martial Sect from Qi Yun Dao, the Seven Deadly Sect. They came for the 200-million-yuan bounty and only want Ye Xiu’s left arm. We, on the other hand, want his life.”

Qin Qing had never heard of the Seven Deadly Sect, and she didn’t care. ”How did you get involved with them?” she asked.

”Let’s just call it fate,” Xu Jinghao said with a smile. ”Originally, we were cooperating with the Tiansha Association. But yesterday, the Sang Jing medical inspection team was targeted by a mysterious sniper, so Kuroki Suzu contacted the Seven Deadly Sect.”

Qin Qing furrowed her brow. Although she didn’t know much about the Seven Deadly Sect, the fact that it was an Ancient Martial Sect meant it was beyond her ability to handle. She asked, ”How many people from the Seven Deadly Sect are here?”

”Seven,” Xu Jinghao replied.

”Where are they holding my family?” Qin Qing asked.

”Jin Ye City Harbor, Warehouse 3,” Xu Jinghao answered every question without hesitation.

”It seems I can’t save my family by myself,” Qin Qing sighed.

”Isn’t that obvious?” Xu Jinghao laughed. ”We’re the ones who kidnapped them. You can’t possibly save them alone.”

If I can’t win with force, I’ll have to use my wits.

Suddenly, Qin Qing pulled out a dagger. She leaned forward and pressed it against Xu Jinghao’s neck, growling fiercely, ”You’ve been kidnapped!”

”You...”

Xu Jinghao was dumbfounded.

Bro, aren’t I the kidnapper? Did the kidnapper just get kidnapped?

”Pull the car over, or I’ll kill you,” Qin Qing ordered, her demeanor suddenly shifting to that of a ruthless bandit.

A shiver went down Xu Jinghao’s spine, and he nearly drove the car into a ditch. ”Alright, alright, I’ll do what you say!” he said hastily. ”Just be careful! Don’t let your hand shake.”

Saying this, he quickly and steadily parked the car on the roadside.

”Text your parents. Tell them I’ve kidnapped you and that they need to bring the Qin Family here for a hostage exchange,” Qin Qing commanded.

”The people from the Seven Deadly Sect won’t let my parents take the Qin Family,” Xu Jinghao said, his face looking constipated.

SLAP!

Qin Qing smacked the back of his head. ”Is your head full of cement? Can’t you have your parents lie to the people from the Seven Deadly Sect? For instance, tell them you already have me and that keeping the Qin Family is useless, so they might as well let them go.”

”What if the people from the Seven Deadly Sect just kill the Qin Family instead?” Xu Jinghao asked.

Qin Qing realized he had a point. Kidnapping Xu Jinghao to rescue her family wasn’t going to work.

So she suddenly plunged the dagger into Xu Jinghao’s chest.

”You...” Xu Jinghao’s face filled with disbelief. He couldn’t understand. They had been talking just fine, so why had Qin Qing suddenly attacked him?

”You plotted against me for ten years. I’ve wanted you dead for a long time,” Qin Qing said through gritted teeth.

”But... but if I’m dead, how will you save... save the Qin Family?” Xu Jinghao asked, forcing the words out through the pain.

”Huh? Why aren’t you dead yet?” Qin Qing retorted, pulling the dagger from his chest and stabbing him again. She added apologetically, ”Sorry, I missed before. This stab should have hit your heart, right?”

Xu Jinghao: ”...”
