[Seeking Subscription]_1 The two girls are now in touch, something that comes as a surprise to the Jia family’s two elders.

But Xiao Qi seems to have already come to understand the Jia family’s thoughts, and now, even when she talks to Jia Lin, it’s done with as much distance as possible!

Yet Jia Lin remains oblivious to all of this.

She continues just as before, getting on quite well with this older sister now as much as ever, and discusses happenings during the days they haven’t been in contact.

Several kilometers away, also in Shanghai City: this place is far from the basement room where Jia Lin used to live.

Xiao Qi is laughing, sending her information out line by line.

However, not long after, a large hand reaches out and snatches the cellphone directly from her hands!/p>

“Who are you sending messages to, the police?”

The owner of the hand is a man with a harsh face, tightly gripping a pistol in his hand.

This place is full of young girls.

They are dressed provocatively, and some of them have tear stains on their faces.

“Oh, it’s a girl.

You didn’t contact the police.

I see you’re wise.

But even if you did reach out to them, it wouldn’t matter.

They’re so busy, there is no way they would give a damn about your lives,” said the man with a tone of mockery.

However, while he held the phone in his hand, it suddenly vibrated again.

“Your little friend says she’s in Shanghai.

Xiao Qi, tell me, is she a cute little thing?

Nevermind, don’t answer.

I’ll send her an invitation for an ‘interview’ here, haha!”

With hideous laughter, the man avoided Xiao Qi, who was turning pale and trying to snatch the phone back, and went ahead sending another message.

“Little Lin, I’m at Dongguan Road No.

479.

Can you come over and see me this afternoon?

I’m really longing to see you.”

This message popped up on Jia Lin’s computer.

“Sister Xiao Qi wants to meet up with me.

Well, it has been a long time since we last saw each other.

I miss her, too.”

Jia Lin did not question the message at all.

So she began to prepare to meet up.

At this point, Jia Lin could not imagine that Xiao Qi could possibly betray her.

She merely wished to reunite with her, oblivious to what was about to unfold next.

Before long, Jia Lin was ready to go.

When living in Shanghai, Xiao Qi had taught her basic makeup skills.

Once back in her hometown, she practiced on her own.

Her parents, noticing her interest as part of a girl’s natural fascination, didn’t stand in her way.

So, the young lady’s makeup skills improved.

She didn’t learn these skills to impress others, but rather to avoid being ridiculed by Xiao Qi, who often teased her about her poor makeup skills when they were in Shanghai.

Look, she only wanted to impress Xiao Qi with her improved makeup skills.

The young girl hummed a tune that, possibly, only she herself could understand while getting ready to leave.

From her humming, one could sense her happiness.

Finnally, the afternoon came.

When the Jia Family noticed Jia Lin’s makeup during lunch, Father Jia couldn’t help but ask.

“Little Lin, why did you put on makeup?”

Jia Lin immediately froze.

She knew her parents didn’t think much of Xiao Qi.

Ever since they returned to their hometown, they often indirectly spoke ill of Xiao Qi.

Thus, she wasn’t sure whether to tell them directly.

“Dad, can I go out this afternoon?”

Jia Lin chose not to respond directly, but rather asked in return.

“You want to go out at this time?

I wonder what is in your head.

You want to run around during these chaotic times?

Do you want your mother and I to come to Shanghai again looking for you?” Father Jia nearly gags on his food and, grumbling, walks outside.

Jia Lin in the room was taken aback, unable to utter a single word.

As a child with a ‘criminal record’, she couldn’t say that she initially went to Shanghu to avenge her brother or, to put it correctly, if she did say it, it would only make her parents worry even more.

So, as the girl with that dark past, she became a rebellious child in her father’s eyes that only somewhat mellowed after returning to her hometown.

That’s the only reason why her parents stopped blaming her for anything.

Jia Lin looked up at her father’s departing figure with a bit of grievance, her mouth pouting.

After coming to this house, the two assassins and their family have lived separately, with the Jia’s family leading their own lives and the assassins leading theirs.

Even though Jia’s family were very grateful to the two assassins, when they invited them for dinner a few days ago and were declined, they stopped saying such things.

At noon, a delicate little figure stealthily left her room.

This girl had a slightly chubby baby face belonging to that of a cute girl.

It was Jia Lin!

Peeking at her parents’ room, hearing no noises, and realizing that due to their recent hard days her parents must be a bit weary – particularly since her father has difficulty moving around, forcing Mother Jia to bear more of the burden – she knew the couple must be exhausted.

After glancing at her parents’ room one last time and finding no abnormalities, she quietly slipped out of the building.

The two assassins, who live on the third floor, weren’t home, so when the young girl left the house, no one noticed.

“Aunt Xiaoqi wouldn’t harm me.

I’m just going to meet her!” She made up her mind to quickly go out, meet up, and then rush back home while her parents were still resting.

Thinking of this, she took out her cellphone.

“Aunt Xiaoqi, where are you?

I’ve already left…

oh!

You really moved?

Okay, I’m coming over!”

As Jia Lin was walking down the street, chatting on the phone, she didn’t even realize that the previously peaceful city of Shanghu was now filled with a tense atmosphere.

Boarding a bus, she left.

Not much later, two assassins drove back in what appeared to be an ordinary minivan, returning to this small building.

“Hmm … not good.

The device I put here is broken.

I don’t know if someone left or someone has entered the building.

Be careful!” The bespectacled young man’s expression changed instantly when he was just outside of the building.

As qualified assassins, they paid close attention to safety.

Before leaving, the bespectacled young man had set some very hidden traps.

It would be disturbed no matter who entered or left unnoticed.

Thus, he immediately concluded that either someone had left the building or someone had entered!

The bearded man’s face also changed.

It’d be fine if it was just someone from the Jia family leaving, but if it were the Yu family coming, the safety of the Jia family could be at stake!

The two entered the building with extreme caution.

They made tactical moves, checking each floor of the building!

It didn’t take long for their expressions to return to normal once they found no evidence of someone entering – only leaving.

Upon checking their room’s surveillance footage, their brows furrowed!

The person leaving was none other than the young girl from the Jia family.

What was she doing going out alone?

Did her parents know about this?

The two quickly went to the fourth floor.

“What?

That child left on her own…

I just…” Upon hearing the news of Jia Lin’s departure, Mother Jia was flabbergasted.

Their daughter was just uncontrollable.

She didn’t know what to say!

“Don’t worry just yet.

Even though Shanghu is a bit chaotic right now, there’s still basic security.

Xiao Yao and I will go out and look for her.

You wait here in the building for news from us.

If we really can’t find her, we will report it to the police!”

After the bearded man had a brief discussion with the bespectacled young man, they reassured the Jia’s two elders and made plans to depart again.

Another chapter coming soon!!
