Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

228: Chapter 18: UFO?!

[Subscribe Requested]_1 228: Chapter 18: UFO?!

[Subscribe Requested]_1 Fortunately, in this moment, Jia Yan responded immediately by swooping downwards to skillfully evade the incoming metallic object!

Nonetheless, his heart and mind were still in shock!

“What on earth is…”

The utter disbelief on his face was apparent, apart from shock, Jia Yan had no words to describe his current expression!

Whoosh Whoosh Whoosh Whoosh Whoosh Whoosh!!!

The Giant Mosquito made a long-distance flight in the air, a range of straight two thousand meters, akin to the previous case when Jia Yan sensed the distance which led him to the metallic material.

The metallic object which is now directly chasing him, stopped upon reaching a two thousand meter range, halting in its pursuit!

From extreme motion to extreme stillness, this metal object, in less than a second, seemed to genuinely defy the laws of nature.

However, Jia Yan had no time to marvel at the peculiarities of this metal object!

After breaking through a range of two thousand meters, he turned back to look at the dilapidated building!

In the building, a giant and eerie thing appeared.

A thing Jia Yan would have never imagined was present there.

Although Jia Yan knew this place to be a secret research institute of Huaxia, where something like metal monsters were likely to be found, he had not anticipated this!

Jia Yan’s eyes held a glimmer of disbelief.

Honestly, if a giant metal monster or another huge creature appeared, he wouldn’t be too surprised.

Yet, what emerged from that building was paradoxically both plausible and unbelievable, and that startled Jia Yan!

In the collapsed building two thousand meters away, a shiny object appeared.

It had a streamlined body and an overall flat shape.

It was almost perfectly round, with a slight bulge at the center.

It was around 20 meters in diameter, the surface was luminescent, the streamlined form looked like metal but not entirely.

If a mysterious object enthusiast was here, they would definitely be thrilled!

Becaouse this object was the one confirmed to exist on Earth, yet more information about it remained elusive – a flying saucer!

In other words, commonly referred to as a UFO!

Unbelievably, beneath this building was not the strange creature Jia Yan had imagined, nor any mysterious machinery of the Underground World!

Instead, it was this UFO- plausible from Jia Yan’s speculations, yet completely marvelous!

Disbelief shone in Jia Yan’s eyes, to be honest.

The appearance of this UFO, though synergizing with some logic, as the appearance of the metal monster and the mysterious machinery of the underground world together had suggested some high tech, if attached to this UFO, things would have an explanation!

Those metal monsters must have some connection with the UFO inside the building!

“It’s actually a UFO, it’s too much of a divergence, I need to think this over…

Additionally, I have a feeling, this UFO is extremely dangerous!”

Hovering two thousand meters up in the air, as Jia Yan got a full view of the UFO, a chilling sensation washed over him- as if any attack from the UFO would easily annihilate him!

So, with sudden warning bells ringing in his head, he cautiously started to back off…

But while Jia Yan wanted to retreat, the ‘UFO’ which had revealed its true body, was not ready to let him leave!

The strange craft suspended in mid air slowly started to rotate.

Its rotation wasn’t fast, and there was some damage on its lower surface, if you looked carefully you could see that these damages could be mended with the metal pieces Jia Yan had.

Especially the rhombic damage, it seemed to be an important part, easily mended with the piece of metal which had attacked Jia Yan.

So maybe it didn’t dare to send more metal pieces to attack Jia Yan tonight!

But now, the ‘UFO’ displayed faint flowing lights on the body, then bit by bit in the void, it turned.

In the end, it pointed a certain part of its surface towards Jia Yan.

At least Jia Yan couldn’t figure out, what was different about this surface from the rest!

But this didn’t hinder the explosive surge of danger filling his heart!

“Not good!”

He screamed in his heart!

Whoosh whoosh whoosh!!!

The body of the Big Mosquito, sensing the imminent danger, made a divergent evasive action instantly!

But at that very moment, a round chink appeared on the surface of the ‘UFO’.

The appearance of this chink, a slender, gleaming object shot right out!

Then, at the tip of the elongated object, a ghastly white beam of light quickly coalesced.

Immediately after, this ghastly white beam directly ‘boomed’, launching towards Jia Yan’s direction!

Boom!!!

This beam, it was a true beam of light!

Its speed was the speed of light itself!

How fast is the speed of light?

Everyone who has been to school knows, it’s basically equivalent to three hundred thousand kilometers per second!

That’s like flying from Earth to the Moon in just one second!

Where Earth’s spacecraft would take several days to reach, light speed takes you there in one second!

Now, a beam identical in speed to that of light is attacking Jia Yan!

Fast!

It’s not something that can be described with mere speed!

The distance that light can travel in one second, Jia Yan would have to fly for over a month, even with all his might, to reach that far a distance!

The comparison just isn’t on the same scale!

Even if Jia Yan had already moved slightly the moment he saw the others attacking, his effort did little to escape their wrath!

Boom!!——

But that indescribably fast beam of light, in that instant, pierced through the rainy night and arrived right before him!

Even when it arrived in front of Jia Yan, he could not possibly see the form of light!

He only felt, his body, as if having been pierced by something, in an instant!

Solid defense, none!

Exoskeleton defense, also useless!

Those bluish defenses couldn’t even react within that flicker of a second!

It directly pierced right through Jia Yan’s right wing!

Fortunately, Jia Yan had already moved from his original position and avoided a bit of the distance.

Otherwise, this beam of light would have pierced through his chest!

He couldn’t defend.

The level gap was too vast!

Fear, from the depths of Jia Yan’s heart, started to sprout.

This was when his long-lost feeling of fear resurfaced.

All along, that tiny mosquito, from its initial cautious beginning, slowly grew its courage bit by bit.

That was, until recently, when Jia Yan felt as if he was fearless!

His state of being unbeatable by single entities on Earth made him complacent, and somewhat arrogant!

Just like in this research institute, he sensed danger early on, even his body tried hard to prevent him from coming.

But Jia Yan still came because of his arrogance, thinking nothing could threaten him on Earth.

Or at least, nothing that could annihilate him in one blow.

But seeing the UFO now, Jia Yan realized, the world is not as simple as he thought.

There are still many things that can easily kill him!

But it seems too late to be aware of this now!

Looking down, Jia Yan saw the slender part of the ‘UFO’ shining with a faint light and couldn’t help but have a bitter smile.

His mosquito body…could it really be ending here?

He was a bit frustrated.

He still had many ways to strengthen this body, there were so many mysteries in the world for him to explore.

Was he going to die here?

Jia Yan was unwilling.

His wings fluttered desperately, as if it could avoid the oncoming blast of the ghastly white light.

But that was impossible.

At a speed of three hundred thousand kilometers per second, how could he – a Big Mosquito with a top speed of just two thousand kilometers per hour – compete?

The difference was too large, too vast.

This seemed to be the final resting place for Jia Yan, the Big Mosquito!

To be continued.
