“It seems that my body has undergone a slight change.

This change can’t really be called mutation, but it further exhibits the effects of the previous mutation.

Coupled with the significant loss of physical strength today, I now appear weak!”

Jia Yan quickly deduced his current condition.

However, the deduction is of no use; his body can’t move at all.

At this stage, he can only reluctantly give up his plan to continue chasing his family and decide to take a rest in this forest!

With no other options, Jia Yan shifted his gaze to his laptop bag, which he had brought with him.

His younger sister might still be online via her mobile phone.

After a little thought, Jia Yan took down the laptop bag.

His laptop bag, having been used continuously, looked somewhat old and dusty but had been of great help to Jia Yan.

The laptop inside had served him very well, so he kept carrying it around.

At this moment, he looked up, aware that the forest where he had landed was near a small town.

So, there should be network coverage.

Places unaffected by the previous battles wouldn’t have lost their internet connection, right!

Ever since Jia Yan returned to Huaxia, this was the first time he had opened his laptop.

The laptop had almost exhausted its battery.

Although Jia Yan had been saving power as much as possible, the fact that the laptop lasted this long was a pleasant surprise.

But he still had a backup power source!

The familiar sound echoed again as the laptop started up after he plugged in the external power supply.

Jia Yan nodded satisfactorily and waited for the laptop screen to boot up.

Then, Jia Yan realized, for his current size, his portable laptop seemed rather small.

Just a few seconds after he opened the laptop, he encountered difficulty controlling the mouse using his forelegs, which was quite frustrating.

If he mutates again, probably he won’t be able to use the laptop.

Because the keyboard and mouse are created for humans, the fact that he, as a giant mosquito, has been able to use them for such a long time is sheer luck.

Fortunately, he could still barely use it.

Jia Yan struggled to control the mouse and gradually opened the QQ icon on his laptop.

It reminded him of the time when he was still a tiny mosquito.

Back then, he couldn’t operate the mouse because his body was too small.

Now, his body had become too large for operating the mouse.

The world indeed works in mysterious ways.

The QQ account was the same one Jia Yan had registered before.

However, his younger sister’s QQ number was not added to it.

Luckily, he remembered his sister’s QQ number as he had used it prior, giving it to his younger sister after she fancied it.

When he logged into QQ successfully, he was planning to click on the ‘Add a friend’ dialog box.

But before that, a strong notification sound suddenly came from the laptop speakers.

Ding ding ding !!

“Huh…?” Jia Yan was slightly startled.

This QQ account only had one friend, and only one person would send him a message – the bearded assassin.

The bearded man’s profile picture on QQ was a Korean pop star.

Jia Yan looked over and, indeed, it was the Korean pop star icon flashing.

Why does this duo need him again?

Were they successful in fleeing from the Wa kingdom?

Jia Yan was slightly curious and clicked to view the message.

In fact, he didn’t even realize it himself that every time he logged into QQ, he looked forward to their messages.

Because interaction with them made him temporarily forget that he was a mosquito and allowed him to maintain contact using the fake identity of ‘senior.’

Indeed, there was a message underneath the QQ icon, albeit quite lengthy one!

“Senior, we have successfully escaped.

We are now back in Huaxia.”

That was the first message.

Not long after the first message, another one followed.

“Senior, a giant monster battle happened in the Wa kingdom.

The giant mosquito related to you seemed to have participated in the battle.

I hope nothing bad happened to you!”

That was the second message.

Both messages were courteous and aligned with their usual respectful demeanor towards the ‘senior’ QQ account.

However, the following messages made Jia Yan tense up!

“Senior, even in Huaxia we were attacked by a metal monster.

We previously undertook a suspicious task that we now think might be related to this metal creature.

We have decided to investigate this matter.

If you have time, we would appreciate your assistance!”

That message was from a few days ago, but there’s more!

“Senior, we’ve investigated the suspicious task and found an oddity.

Although our country has never been privy to the inner workings of the metal beast, we have certainly done research pertaining to the mysteries of the Underground World!

Senior, are you interested in this?

If so, we can send you the newly acquired data for you to look over!”

Mysteries of the Underground World!?

Jia Yan was slightly pensive.

This message was the last one from the two assassins, sent around ten hours ago’s when Jia Yan had returned to Huaxia.

These two are attentive, continuously sending him messages.

Perhaps they consider him their go-to after their organization was dissolved!

Nevertheless, the message was extremely valuable.

Jia Yan was indeed interested in the so-called secrecy of the Underground World.

Jia Yan pondered, then sent a reply to them!

“I’m interested in your message.

If possible, please send me a copy of it.

Thank you!”

Jia Yan wasn’t sure if the two were currently online, so while waiting for their reply, he tapped on ‘add friend’, entered his sister’s QQ number, and as he was contemplating what validation message to write, a QQ message notification interrupted his thoughts!

The profile picture of ‘Korean Oppa’ was blinking in the system tray on the computer’s bottom-right corner!

It’s the two assassins!

Jia Yan admired their survival skills.

They seemed to have faced myriad dangers, yet they are still alive.

He wondered if their survival instincts were stronger than others’!

He paused the process of sending the verification code to his sister on QQ and first clicked to view the QQ message.

The message was accompanied by a file.

Jia Yan first read the chat message.

“Senior, you’re finally online.

We thought you weren’t going to contact us anymore.

We have sent you the information you requested in a Word file.

It contains our investigation and research analysis of the mystical place.

By the way, today we heard that the people from Jia’s family whom you care about very much have been attacked by a metal monster in the city.

We managed to join them along the way and they are now under our protection.

We told the people from Jia’s family that we are friends with Jia Yan from Shanghai City!

However, given the urgency of the situation, we hope that you won’t blame us for taking action without your consent!”

Upon seeing this long message, Jia Yan was slightly taken aback!

These two actually protected his family!

They….

Truth be told, Jia Yan had always seen his relationship with the two assassins as one of utilitarianism.

Although they played an integral role in Jia Yan’s evolution into a powerful being, he always thought of those as mere coincidences and chances!

After he rescued them last time, he believed that they had completely severed ties!

He even considered ceasing all contact!

But this time, these two assassins, without any hesitation, decided to help again when they heard that the people from Jia’s family, whom their ‘Senior’ cares about, have been struck by a disaster!

They didn’t even know what kind of relationship Jia Yan, their ‘Senior’, had with the people from Jia’s family.

Yet, just because these people were of interest to their ‘Senior’, they willingly took risks and went out of their way to help!

Jia Yan knew that when these two were in the Wa Kingdom, they were severely injured, and they have surely not recovered yet.

Yet, under these circumstances, they still decided to protect the people from Jia’s family!

Jia Yan sighed deeply!

The debt of gratitude that he owed them this time was immense!

Perhaps the bond with these two couldn’t be described as merely owing them a favor.

These two people genuinely treated him, their ‘Senior’ whom they had never met, as one of their own.

Otherwise, why would that have been so considerate!

“It seems my parents and little sister really are under their protection.

I won’t add them on QQ right away!

I will verify this in a while, I hope they aren’t trying to trick me!” Jia Yan, an evolved ‘Big Mosquito’ who went through all kinds of hardships to reach where he was, naturally wouldn’t be too trusting just because of someone’s words.

Thus, he reined in his heart and mind, sending out a message!

“Where are you now!?”

This was his simple message.

“We are currently at the city hospital in Chang City.

The old man from Jia’s family was tired from the journey.

We let them get checked here!”

The bearded man’s reply moved Jia Yan even more.

However, without seeing the actual reality, it was impossible for him to fully believe them!

“Rest some more, then head to Chang City.” Jia Yan felt his body was still weak.

He could fly at this moment, but encounters with the enemy would definitely limit his combat power.

So, he decided to rest a bit more!

In the meantime, he would have a look at the confidential data that the two assassins sent him!

With this in mind, Jia Yan wasn’t in a hurry to respond, he opened the file and started browsing!
