As the two young men started to become familiar with each other, the adults from both sides also began to converse.

The father and son from the Wu Family felt like they’d received some sort of reward.

The two elders from Jia’s family shared knowledge of the nearby geography and potential routes they could take in the future.

As the five of them were helping each other out, there was a sudden whooshing sound overhead.

The crowd looked up to see the Giant Mosquito, heavily injured and radiating a deep blue color, making its way over seemingly from a great distance away.

“It’s the Giant Mosquito!

It has severe injuries!”

“I wanted to mention it earlier, but I feel like this creature is helping us escape.

Do any of you feel the same?”

Someone suddenly brought up the issue that the Giant mosquito monster might be trying to help them.

This proposition instantly drew silence from the crowd.

However, the person’s suggestion was met with disagreement from the others.

There was scoffing and jeering, but none of them thought that this guess was correct.

But the impact of the statement lingered, planting a thought in their minds that refused to die away.

In reality, Jia Yan wanted to help not these humans, but his own family.

He had no special thoughts about indirectly benefiting so many humans; he was simply acting on impulse.

While he was flying in the sky, a look of surprise flashed across his compound eyes when he observed the scene below.

He was puzzled to see the father and son he had rescued the day before now travelling with his family members.

But since these two were also helping his family, he didn’t need to worry about them having any nefarious intentions.

Whoosh!

After making a round trip surveillance in the sky, the Giant Mosquito flew over everyone’s heads, heading to a forest about ten kilometers away from the path they were on.

Whoosh!

The Giant Mosquito descended into the forest.

With its massive, aggressive body that still bore the fierce aura of a recent battle, the Giant Mosquito’s landing caused a sudden silence in the forest.

Its arrival seemed to smother all life in the forest, leaving it deathly silent.

All the creatures halted their noises, the chirping bugs went quiet, and the singing birds silenced.

The forest was utterly still and silent.

Unaware of these minor details, the Big Mosquito simply settled down on the ground to rest as soon as it landed.

Its body was severely injured from the intense battle, and it felt incredibly weak.

It wanted nothing more than to rest right that moment.

The blue hue on its body appeared more pronounced now, not just limited to the spots that lit up during the fight, but continually surfacing, leaving it feeling weak and in urgent need of rest.

“Looks like this battle was my limit.

I should take note and try not to exceed this limit in the future,” Jia Yan thought as he examined his heavily injured body.

He found a comfortable position to lay down.

He decided to rest here for a while, close to his family, and would conduct a survey later on after some time.

In no time, he was deep asleep.

The Big Mosquito was genuinely exhausted.

The quietness of the forest considerably improved the efficiency of his rest.

More than an hour later, the fleeing crowd finally arrived near the forest.

They glanced towards where the Big Mosquito seemed to have landed.

Spotting nothing unusual, they continued their journey in silence.

By this time, the group seemed to have developed some clairvoyance among them.

Having traversed together and experienced danger together, they now understood the importance of caring for the lonely, sick, and weak among them.

Therefore, at this time, there were a couple more figures helping the people of Jia’s family.

One person was dedicated to supporting Father Jia Sheng, while another one was helping with their luggage.

However, the volume of the crowd had decreased.

The fatigue was taking its tolI on everyone, especially the parents carrying their children.

Not only did they have to carry the kids, but they also had to constantly soothe them.

They silently continued their journey.

The road ahead of them was still long.

Some wanted to reach the nearest international city, Shanghu, where Jia Yan had once lived.

The destinations of others were more diverse.

Some intended to reach cities with train stations to try and escape to places where the metal monsters were non-existent, such as the unaffected New Province, or neighboring countries.

Fed up with the torment of the metal monsters, these people were using all kinds of ways to reach safe havens devoid of them.

Frankly, it’s not a bad plan.

Fujian Province was in such a state of disrepair due to a cave where a metal monster had appeared.

Still, in most parts of Huaxia, the metal monsters were merely something seen on TV.

Although many people knew that the human army was fighting monsters from the underground, the surreal nature of the situation made it hard for most to accept the reality, and they perceived the situation as unreal!

After all, reality is not a movie.

It’s challenging for people to suddenly recognize the fact that humans are under attack from a mysterious biological army!

Under these circumstances, most Huaxia people are oblivious to the reality of the war zone!

Only the military personnel and people coming out of the war zone truly understand the urgency and how terrifying the metal monsters are!

This state of affairs won’t last much longer.

The existence of the metal monsters is about to terrify the entire humanity!

Jia Yan didn’t know how long he had been in his unintentional deep sleep.

He seemed to have been asleep for a very long time.

As Jia Yan slept, the azure color on his body gradually faded, and his injuries began to slowly disappear.

The healing ability of the Giant Mosquito was indeed extraordinary.

Still, his recovery this time had reached levels that Jia Yan had never previously achieved!

The azure color was gradually fading.

The body of the Big Mosquito was slowly recovering to its original state.

A deep and steady black color was showing on its body surface.

Still, it was not the usual black, it seemed as if after a series of battles, his body had become more robust!

Normally, the body of the Big Mosquito should not have been able to heal so quickly.

Although his body was indeed capable of potent recovery, the reason was the lingering effects of the Deep Blue Liquid and Deep Blue Crystal from his last mutation!

Without them, Jia Yan could not have recovered so quickly.

However, due to the depletion this time, the constitution of his body was once again boosted, and some residual azure material was released.

He just needed to continue recuperating his body for a better mutation effect and thus could consider advancing the plans for the next mutation!

Of course, not everything was good news.

This time’s injury was a permanent one for Jia Yan, and it would stay with him for a long time.

Even after another mutation, whether the injury could be completely healed was uncertain!

Hence, on the whole, in this battle against the metal monster, Jia Yan lost five green-grey pebbles and has future uncertainties pertaining to his body.

The gains were saving his parents and family, the continued development of the residual azure material in his body, and advancing the time for the next mutation.

Whether it is worth it or not, it depends on each individual’s interpretations!

But for Jia Yan, even if there were no other gains, the action was meaningful as the lives of his family could not be compared with anything else.

So, at this moment, he did not consider anything about the payback; if he had thought so much, he would not have taken the action to save his family!

A giant dark creature was slowly recovering its senses in the forest!

His eyes were slightly glowing, and it seemed as if his body had gotten a bit larger.

However, unlike the not-so-obvious growth in the body, the transformation of his exoskeleton made people feel more surprised!

The exoskeleton of the Big Mosquito had become somewhat smoother.

The dark color and condensation fluid on the surface of the exoskeleton had undergone quite a reasonable transformation!

Under some unknown logic, the condensation fluid slowly shrank into the interior of the exoskeleton surface, leaving only a well-intact exoskeleton body!

The exoskeleton was no longer just an exoskeleton.

Some Azure Material had been mixed in the deeper part, marking the stay of the azure material in his exoskeleton, which would likely give the Big Mosquito a much stronger defense!

The transformation this time was not a huge one, as it was only absorbing the residual effects from the last mutation.

Although his strength had enhanced, it did not result in major progress like during a mutation!

Soon, the Big Mosquito woke up from his sleep, but he still felt somewhat groggy.

It took him a good half an hour to fully regain his consciousness.

“How much time has passed?

I was just resting for a bit, and I ended up sleeping until it was dark!”

Jia Yan tried to get up, but his heavy body made him sway!

His body still felt a bit uncomfortable.

Although he wanted to get up and rush to his parents’ side, his body could no longer move.

All he could do was to slowly sit down while shivering!

He felt weak!

The next chapter will be served soon!
