Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

224: Chapter 14 Nuclear Bomb Attack!!

[Subscribe]_1 224: Chapter 14 Nuclear Bomb Attack!!

[Subscribe]_1 Another piece of the metal substance was not far from Jia Yan, hovering about two thousand meters away in mid-air, and it dared not advance any further!

It was terrified!

Jia Yan was distinctly joyful about this.

With a turn of his body, amidst the faint roar of the sound, he left the airspace above the research institute!

“My goal tonight is simple.

I am testing the attack range of this creature or object, and whether it possesses intelligence.

As far as I can determine now, both its forms of attacks have a distance limit.

The metal substance can break through three times the speed of sound, but the object controlling them has a range of only two thousand meters.

As for the earlier sound attack that almost caused me to faint, it poses a lethal threat to me only within a hundred meters,”

Jia Yan stared at the landscape behind him and seemed to fear the threatening research institute a little less, revealing a slight smile.

He was cheering for himself.

If he had chosen to give up because he felt that the object in this place was beyond his ability to handle, he wouldn’t have the exhilarating feeling he was experiencing now!

This feeling of avenging a great injustice was very gratifying to him.

But this was far from enough!

Jia Yan had a ruthless look in his eyes.

He came to this research institute for the opportunity of the next mutation.

Now that he had seen this strange thing here, was it possible that there was a bit of possibility for him to seize the opportunity?

Even if there wasn’t anything else…

Jia Yan looked at the metal substance in his front foot, which was trembling slightly and wanted to escape from his grasp, and a faint smile appeared on his face!

Even if there were no other things, as long as this coveted metal substance existed, the research institute was worth taking a risk to investigate!

What Jia Yan didn’t know was that when he left the research institute, something inside the institute let out a huge roar in anger!

However, the roar quieted down after a while.

As for the humans, they had already fully organized and evacuated from the place when the weapons of their military proved ineffective against the Big Mosquito’s attack.

So, the roaring sound of the object was heard by no one, otherwise the people in the research institute would surely be surprised to learn that such a thing existed in the institute where they had been working for so long!

Jia Yan returned to his temporary hideout by Qinghai Lake.

There were quite a few things in this thicket.

He put the newly obtained metal substance on the ground, carefully keeping it a good distance from the one he had obtained earlier for fear of causing some kind of chemical reaction.

If both ran away at once, he would surely be distressed for quite some time!

Fortunately, after being placed on the ground, neither of the two pieces of metal substance moved.

They were both as if dead.

Jia Yan remembered that the first piece he obtained once showed signs of movement, and he knew he couldn’t afford to be careless this time.

Thankfully, the newly obtained metal substance seemed to have exhausted some of its power, showing no signs of movement at all!

“Next, we’ll wait for tomorrow!”

Jia Yan lay down.

Although tonight’s battle hadn’t exerted much physical effort, the injury from the previous time hadn’t completely healed.

Now, after confronting the creature again reluctantly, his body definitely showed signs of fatigue.

So, he began to rest while lying down.

Time passed quickly, and a new day arrived.

Near the research institute, some humans began to appear again after the departures of the Big Mosquito, Jia Yan.

It could not be denied that after weighing the pros and cons of a war with the Giant mosquito monster, the higher-ups of Huaxia decided to abandon the research institute for the time being.

They believed that even if the Giant mosquito monster causes damage in this place, it should not be tremendously destructive.

After all, it’s a creature with little wisdom that will probably only stay here for a while, before leaving!

Currently, humans do not understand much about the Giant mosquito monster or the so-called Metal Monster.

They stubbornly believe that these monsters are unintelligent life forms which could only compete with humans through their physical strength.

If it came to a battle of wits, they believed the monsters wouldn’t even stand a chance against humans!

But they are absolutely wrong.

Jia Yan is unsure of the Metal Monster’s situation, but he himself is a Giant mosquito at the level of human intelligence!

If they underestimate his intelligence, the humans are bound to be at a massive disadvantage!

The war between the humans and the Metal Monster continued on this day.

The Metal Monsters had taken control of even more territory!

Finally, ordinary humans, after the top brass, were beginning to feel a touch of tension!

In the end, the Wa Kingdom, as the first country no longer able to sit on their hands, had suffered so much damage that its citizens couldn’t live peacefully on their own land anymore!

So after requesting help from their so-called ally, the ‘Stars and Stripes Country’, that country finally acceded to the Wa Kingdom’s plea and for the first time since World War II, launched a medium-yield nuclear bomb towards the Wa Kingdom…

The nuclear bomb, for the first time, was used by humans in combat against Metal Monsters!

The Earth World’s countless media outlets reported this event.

Most were speculating about the effects of the nuclear attack, while some also poked fun at the Wa Kingdom.

As a country that had previously suffered nuclear weapons attacks, it was ironically the first to bear the brunt of a nuclear attack during this third world war against the Metal Monsters.

And what’s even more ridiculous was they’d had to beg for assistance from the country that had once bombed them, to bomb their territory for the second time with nuclear weapons!

They were harshly ridiculed as a clown-like figure!

Under the gaze of the world, an aircraft carrier from the Stars and Stripes Country, situated near the waters of the Wa Kingdom, launched a fifty-thousand-ton medium-yield nuclear bomb onto the land that had once suffered a nuclear attack!

By this time in the Wa Kingdom, half of the entire Tokyo Circle had fallen into the hands of the Metal Monsters.

They’d demolished tall buildings only to use the debris to construct massive structures that rivaled human skyscrapers!

If Jia Yan could see this, he would recognize that these structures closely resembled those he had seen in the city near his hometown!

However, the Wa Kingdom’s structures were even more numerous and grand!

Interestingly, human-built satellite radar lost all imaging when it passed over these areas.

Experts theorized that this was due to electromagnetic interference originating from the Metal Monsters themselves.

This theory was corroborated after discovering the same substance within the wreckage of the Metal Monsters.

Why was the interference so widespread, almost entirely covering the city?

The experts explained this by pointing out the sheer number of Metal Monsters.

The larger the assembly, the more extensive the interference range.

They reassured everyone this was perfectly normal and there was no need to worry excessively.

Following such explanations by experts, the public’s anxiety was washed away like a refreshing spring rain.

But what’s the truth of it?

The places where satellites could not capture images were directly where those monstrous skyscraper-like structures stood.

A few of these structures were equipped with exaggeratedly large cannons, the biggest nearly fifty to sixty meters long, pointing upwards.

And at the moment when the Stars and Stripes Country’s aircraft carrier launched a nuclear bomb from the distant coastline towards the Wa Kingdom…

Within one of those vast structures in the Tokyo Circle, a slender cannon barrel seemed to detect something.

Then, it quickly adjusted its direction!

Boom!!!

——

The cannon barrel suddenly emitted a tremendous blast!

A bright red beam of light, even more massive and brighter than those shot by the Metal Monsters, slashed across the sky!!

This red light crossed the sky at a speed perhaps multiples of that of sound!

Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom!!!!!!!

The mighty red beam shot off in some direction.

That gigantic cannon barrel sending out the red light seemed as if nothing had happened, continuing to rotate and reposition as usual.

As if it had done something insignificant!

Yet, this one red beam completely changed the entire Human World’s understanding of the Metal Monsters!
