I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 696, Forest Encounter

Translator: Silavin

A very light drizzle had just fallen, and the air had instantly become much fresher.

Looking out across the vast expanse, the endless primitive forest had become lush and verdant, as if the green colour might overflow at any moment.

Everything was full of vitality, making one feel very comfortable just by looking at it. This rain was not like the rainy season.

The pattering rain that never stops, this rain only lasted about an hour or so before it stopped.

The people who had originally been advancing towards the Flame Dragon Tribe were delayed for a while because of this rain.

Now, everyone began to pack their gear again and continue advancing towards the direction of the Flame Dragon Tribe. This group of people were from the Earth Tiger Tribe, positioned even further away than the Green Vine Tribe.

Indeed, they would take several days more than the Green Vine Tribe in reaching the Flame Dragon Tribe.

The Earth Tiger Tribe was also a Medium Tribe, with a population similar to the Green Vine Tribe, and a Warrior count of around four hundred.

“Hurry up! The sky looks dark. Who knows if the next rain will come.” urged Yini.

She was the Daughter of the Earth Tiger Tribe’s Chieftain, standing at 1.7 metres tall, which was quite tall for a girl.

Her blue hair paired with blue eyes was very attractive, with a delicate and small nose, and eyebrows that were curved and high. Overall, she gave the impression of a gentle and virtuous girl, especially with her height and graceful figure, which made this trait even more prominent.

However, what was most eye-catching were those tiger ears and long tiger tail.

“I’ve already told them to hurry,” Teng Yuan immediately responded.

He was also from the Earth Tiger Tribe, a Mid Grade Totem Warrior specifically assigned to escort Yini.

He was about 1.8 metres tall, dressed in animal hides that looked very rough, and his appearance was even more so. His features also included tiger ears and tiger tail.

Just looking at him made people feel somewhat intimidated, which was why the Earth Tiger Tribe had sent him out.

They thought that relying solely on Yini’s temperament would certainly anger quite a few people, so they needed someone to protect her.

With a protector, she had been allowed to act more freely.

“I don’t know how much longer it will take. Everyone says that Tribe is amazing, but who knows if it’s really true.” Yini kept looking towards the front of the forest.

She originally did not want to go, but was helplessly forced out by Father, who said that having just awakened as a Totem Warrior, she definitely needed to go out and see the world. Moreover, since everyone said this Tribe was amazing, it would be a pity not to go out and see it and exchange for some things to bring back.

“We should arrive in the afternoon if we hurry,” Ci immediately said.

She was Yini’s good friend, also a Totem Warrior, and had requested to come along this time.

Ci had short black hair, with yellow eyes and wheat-coloured skin that was quite striking.

Her features were not particularly refined, giving more of a neighbouring girl feeling, with a mischievous quality about her.

She was different, no longer having the characteristics of a tiger eared girl, just pure Human in terms of appearance, with only a pair of pointed ears as her distinguishing feature.

“If the Flame Dragon Tribe turns out to be terrible, I’ll never leave the Tribe again. What a bother.” Yini said coldly.

She was someone who disliked troublesome stuff, and this trip was particularly crumbersome.

If the Flame Dragon Tribe was not as amazing as expected, she would definitely be very annoyed that she agreed to come out this time.

“It shouldn’t be that way, right? During the snow season, the ceramics they brought out were very beautiful.”

Ci recalled the appearance of the ceramics and continued, “I think a Tribe that can create such good things definitely can’t be too bad.”

The girls began imagining what the Flame Dragon Tribe would be like, wondering in their hearts what that Tribe would actually be like.

“This was also the reason that convinced me to come out. I just hope there will be better things.” Yini sighed.

She now just wanted to hurry back to training and return to staying in her wooden house.

*Step step step…*

Everyone continued advancing towards the direction of the Flame Dragon Tribe. After walking for several hours, they discovered people from the Green Vine Tribe.

“Are you also going to the Flame Dragon Tribe?” Ah Liv took the initiative to greet them.

The girl had spotted the Earth Tiger Tribe people from afar; their equipment was easily recognisable.

The Animal Hides they wore were all tiger skin, and the other decorations were also all tiger-related.

If they could not recognise such obvious decorations, then their people would have no business surviving.

Most of them identified which Tribe the other party belonged to by looking at each other’s equipment. Some people with ill intentions would launch attacks to rob the other party’s belongings when they saw they were from a Small Tribe.

If they saw that the other party’s attire came from a Large Tribe, they would obediently take a detour.

Whether they could successfully rob anything was unknown, and they might even be counter-robbed by the other party.

“Yes, Father sent me to the Flame Dragon Tribe to trade for some things,” Yini nodded and continued asking, “Have you already been there?”

She saw that the other party was all carrying large and small bags, and everyone was also smiling happily.

It seemed they had traded a lot, and obtained excellent items. Otherwise, they would not be smiling so happily.

“Yes, we stayed at the Flame Dragon Tribe for two days. That place is really wonderful,” Ah Liv spoke with animated gestures.

The girl felt happy just recalling the two days spent there, wishing she could have stayed there for longer.

“Is the Flame Dragon Tribe really that good?” Ci hurriedly asked, her heart extremely curious. If the Flame Dragon Tribe was not good, the other party certainly would not be leaving so happily.

“You stayed at the Flame Dragon Tribe for two days? Where exactly did you stay? In the nearby forest?” Yini asked in surprise.

Ah Liv smiled and continued, “We all rested inside the Flame Dragon Tribe.”

The girl was very enthusiastic and almost wanted to pull the other party to sit down and have a proper chat, as there was really too much to say.

“You rested inside the Flame Dragon Tribe? How could their Tribe possibly let you rest inside?” Yini couldn’t believe it.

Yini at least knew that Tribes would not casually shelter outsiders, especially with so many people from the Green Vine Tribe.

“I’m being serious, they have a very tall stone house there, specifically for people from other Tribes like us to stay in,” Ah Liv explained.

“Really?” Yini widened her blue eyes and asked repeatedly, “Tell me more about the Flame Dragon Tribe.”

Her curiosity was aroused, and she desperately wanted to know everything about the Flame Dragon Tribe.

“I really want to tell you, but time is already getting late. I can only tell you about some important things to note.” Ah Liv said with obvious regret.

“Ah!” Yini was clearly disappointed and sighed, “If that’s the case, it’s fine. Then tell me about the things to note.”

“After going to the Flame Dragon Tribe, you need to…” Ah Liv spoke in great detail about everything.
