I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 662, Planning to Exchange for Some Things

Translator: Silavin

The people of Green Vine Tribe had already held their Totem Awakening Ceremony, but unfortunately, there were not many Totem Warriors who had awakened.

In previous years, there would always be over ten awakened Totem Warriors, but this year there were only four.

This number was undoubtedly the greatest blow to a Tribe. The four Totem Warriors had only just awakened.

This did not provide much benefit to the Tribe’s strength, the main issue was due to the eternal night.

The Green Vine Tribe had also lost quite a number of Totem Warriors, and the Totem Awakening Ceremony had not filled this gap.

This was the Green Vine Tribe’s greatest crisis. Unless those Warrior Trainees could rapidly improve their strength. Otherwise, during the next eternal night, their Tribe would face the fate of extinction.

“Grandfather, although there aren’t many awakened Totem Warriors, there are still the Warrior Trainees.”

Ah Liv spoke with a serious expression, continuing. “We still have a chance, don’t we?”

The young woman had also awakened as a Totem Warrior, one of the few who had awakened amongst the Totem Warriors. However, after awakening as a Totem Warrior, her strength had not noticeably improved.

She was only somewhat stronger than when she was a Warrior Trainee before, and still needed proper training.

“The number of Warrior Trainees who awakened this time isn’t many either. Our Tribe is really in dire straits.” Shaman Lu Zheng sighed deeply.

They had clearly prepared for the Totem Awakening Ceremony for so long, and had thoroughly trained those Warrior Trainees beforehand.

Yet, why had so few people awakened? Even the Warrior Trainees numbered only a dozen or so.

Compared to before, it was truly more than half fewer. This was the reason for his disappointment.

As the Tribe’s Shaman, being unable to lead the Tribe towards better prospects would certainly cause great frustration.

“Grandfather, don’t think too much about it for now. Let’s go to Flame Dragon Tribe. After all, the Tribe still needs to operate normally.” Ah Liv played with her hair.

After the silence of the snow season, Green Vine Tribe indeed needed to exchange for some things. Otherwise, looking out across Green Vine Tribe, there was no vitality at all.

Those damaged wooden houses had all been rebuilt. Even so, everyone still looked listless, completely lacking any spirit.

“You take a few people and go. You’ve been to Flame Dragon Tribe before, and you’re quite familiar with the roads and the people there.” Shaman Lu Zheng did not want to say anything more.

The facts were indeed like this. Although he really did not want the Tribe’s people to go and trade, the Tribe still had to function.

Most importantly, they had already promised the Flame Dragon Tribe. Since they had obtained the ceramics, they also wanted to see what else the Flame Dragon Tribe had.

“Yes, I’ll prepare a bit and set off with the Warriors tomorrow. This time, I’ll take five Warriors with me.” Ah Liv counted on her fingers.

“Including you, take four Totem Warriors in total. Bring Warrior Trainees as well, this can serve as training for them.” Shaman Lu Zheng instructed.

He did not want the Tribe to have too many Totem Warriors leave at once. At this time, many Tribes would hungrily eye other Tribes.

Often, the absorption of Tribes would happen during this period, taking advantage of one’s weakness after the eternal night.

Those Tribes with ulterior motives would launch attacks on other Tribes, thereby devouring other Tribes.

They did not have many ways to strengthen their Tribes; this was the only method.

After devouring other Tribes, their own Tribes could also sustain themselves for longer.

This was also why wars occurred frequently in this Primitive Era, and many did not think much about it.

“I understand. Then I’ll select ten Warrior Trainees. This way we’ll have security on the road too.” Ah Liv nodded.

She also understood this point. The Tribe was currently in a recovery phase, so they naturally should guard against outsiders.

However, her journey to Flame Dragon Tribe was quite a distance away, and with three days of travel, she naturally had to be careful.

They could encounter Wanderer Tribes at any time on the road. Those people, with their eyes red for blood, would readily kill for sustenance.

Their purpose was to rob the supplies of passing people. They had no other choice; to survive, they could only do this.

“Go ahead. Rest well tonight, and discuss with your Father what to bring and what things to trade for.” Shaman Lu Zheng instructed.

“Understood.” Ah Liv nodded and turned to leave.

*Step step step…*

The next morning, Ah Liv got up early. She had discussed matters with Father until very late last night.

Plus, thinking about going to Flame Dragon Tribe, she had been excited all night and had not slept well.

She set off with the predetermined number of people, each person carrying several bags of dried meat on their backs.

This dried meat was all hunted by the Tribe’s Warriors during the Tribe’s repair period.

Besides this, there was also what remained from the snow season. Every year during the snow season, they would stockpile lots of dried meat. So that after the snow season, there was still some dried meat remaining. This was also why their Tribe could maintain itself in place for so long.

They stepped away from the Green Vine Tribe, walking towards the forest.

Now that it was no longer the snow season, they could not cross over the icy surface. No, even during the snow season they could not do so.

After all, they lacked sleds, and walking on ice was slippery. They would be constantly worried about the danger of falling.

It was safer to walk inside the forest, and the time taken was about the same.

“If only we had those tools from the Flame Dragon Tribe.” Ah Liv began to miss the sled.

That thing could move really fast; in no time at all, it could travel between the two Tribes.

Most importantly, sitting on it meant people did not have to walk. Travel was truly too easy with that thing.

She was already thinking in her heart that when she got to Flame Dragon Tribe, she should get a sled and sled dogs. So when the snow season came, they could be put to use.

“Ah Liv, is Flame Dragon Tribe really that good?” Ban asked curiously.

He was a Totem Warrior of Green Vine Tribe, with quite good strength at the Peak of Early-Stage.

Around thirty years old, his conspicuous yellow hair stood out, while his face was marked with traces of time.

He did not look like a thirty-year-old at all, but rather like someone in his fifties, though his height was quite tall.

He looked like an honest person through and through.

“Uncle, you will know once you go. It will definitely be eye-opening for you.” Ah Liv began to anticipate.

She wondered what the Flame Dragon Tribe would be like after the snow season. Just thinking about it made her excited.

“Seeing how happy you look, it doesn’t seem like you’re lying to me.” Ban also began to grow curious.

Previously, he had always heard her mention the Flame Dragon Tribe, which made him very curious about this Tribe.

Since this time he could also go out from the Tribe to trade, he had also tagged along.

“I wouldn’t lie to you.” Ah Liv declared confidently.

*Step step step…*

The group from Green Vine Tribe continued walking deeper into the forest, as the Sun began to gradually rise high.
