I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 657, Beginning to Panic

Translator: Silavin

After a night of bloodshed, the Sea Insect Tribe’s Totem Warriors had been dealt with.

At this time, dawn was already breaking.

Yan Hua and the others were covered with much fresh blood, while also dripping with considerable sweat.

“Done.” Sha Lan breathed a deep sigh of relief.

Sha Lan breathed a deep sigh of relief. This had been an arduous mission indeed.

“Yes, it’s good that no one was injured this time.” Yan Hua revealed a brilliant smile.

This time they had prepared many Shaman Bone Tablets, precisely to guard against any casualties, but they had not used them except on the Peak Eagle.

“Let’s clean up the aftermath.” Sha Lan blinked her blue eyes.

Her face was covered with fresh blood. During the night, when assassinating the Totem Warriors, one blade stroke meant one life.

In the instant when the blade rose and fell, that fresh blood also gushed forth. One’s body and face inevitably became stained with fresh blood.

Each time they infiltrated the wooden houses,  it was heart-stopping. Fearing the other party would discover them, fearing the other party would counter-attack, fearing the other party would cry out, and so forth.

Fortunately, each time there was danger but no mishap. Several times the Totem Warriors sensed someone approaching.

Just as they rose wanting to say something, their necks or heads had already been struck by an arrow.

Even the strongest of Totem Warriors, when startled awake, would need a moment to react, much less against swiftly flying arrows.

However, it was also because the Sea Insect Tribe did not have any truly powerful Totem Warrior. Otherwise, they could not possibly have proceeded so smoothly.

“En, let’s burn it all down.” Yan Hua clapped her hands.

Yan Hua felt that having these people’s blood staining her hands was filthy. If she could wash it off immediately, she would have done so long ago.

“First let’s gather the others. We must let them know there’s been a change of ownership.” Sha Lan said earnestly.

“Yes, my Tribesmen are certainly still enslaved.” Co Co said hurriedly.

Co Co had already waited an entire night. Although she had waited so many days, that night had been the most difficult to endure.

“Cheng Shi, go and call them all out.” Yan Hua said.

She knew Cheng Shi had the loudest voice and most enjoyed doing this sort of thing.

“Of course, leave it to me.” Cheng Shi began going door to door to call people. Naturally, he just did it as he was flying, enjoying every moment of it.

Half an hour later, all the people of the Sea Insect Tribe and Sea Fish Tribe had gathered.

They were all very surprised. At this moment they did not know what had happened. They only saw an unfamiliar winged boy shouting.

They had come out instinctively, all gathering in the open space looking at the Flame Dragon Tribe people.

This was their first time seeing such unfamiliar people, and moreover all covered in blood.

Everyone began to feel somewhat unsettled, all discussing amongst themselves.

“Who are they? How come we’ve never seen them before?”

“They’re all covered in blood. Perhaps they’ve just been in battle?”

“Is that so? Then where are our Totem Warriors?”

“Never mind the Totem Warriors. I don’t even see the Chieftain or the Shaman.”

“Yeah, you’re right. I don’t see the Shaman or Chieftain either.”

“…”

Such discussions continued incessantly. The Sea Insect Tribe people were curious beyond measure.

Besides them, there was another group, which were the Sea Fish Tribe people.

However, they were now slaves, wearing extremely tattered clothing, some even wearing leaves.

“Did you see? Are those people here to rescue us?”

“They’re all covered in blood, and… and they all look quite young.”

“Yes, are they really here to save us? How come we don’t see any Sea Insect Tribe Totem Warriors?”

“Look, look, look! Do you see her? That Co Co! That’s Co Co, right?”

“I’m not certain, but it seems like her. But why is her hair so short?”

“Could they really have come to rescue us?”

“…”

Yan Hua turned to look at Co Co, reached out and pushed her, saying softly. “Go on.”

Yan Hua knew this was Co Co’s moment. They needed to let her demonstrate her position.

“Yes, now it’s your stage.” Sha Lan also pushed her.

Co Co suddenly felt somewhat nervous, hands continuously nervously gripping her Animal Hide Bag, her facial expression full of tension.

She hesitated for a long time. Although she had always been waiting for this moment, when it truly arrived it made one very nervous.

“I’ve returned.” Co Co mustered her courage and shouted.

This shout left all the Sea Insect Tribe people puzzled, not knowing who this person was. They had never seen this person before. For her to suddenly appear and say that was all too strange.

The Sea Insect Tribe people simply did not recognise her, but the Sea Fish Tribe people knew her all too well.

“Is that really you?” one person from the Sea Fish Tribe asked.

“Co Co?” Another person asked excitedly.

The Sea Fish Tribe people were already excited beyond measure. Everyone was extremely shocked, as if they were seeing things.

“It’s me, I’ve returned.” Co Co responded without hesitation.

She who had originally been somewhat conflicted now instantly felt full of strength upon hearing her Tribesmen’s voices.

She was extremely excited. Thinking of the various attacks on the Tribe previously, her mood became even heavier.

Co Co did not know what sort of emotions these were. It was a mix of excitement while also grief

Excited because she had reclaimed the Tribe, grief because the Tribe was no longer as it had been before.

“You truly came to rescue us.” The Sea Fish Tribe people said excitedly.

When they had desperately fought to let Co Co escape, they had heard her say she would come to rescue them.

Originally, they thought it was merely words, but unexpectedly it had now actually been realised.

“En, I’ve come to rescue all of you.” Co Co nodded through her tears, continuing. “We’ve already dealt with all the Sea Insect Tribe Totem Warriors.”

“You’re free now! The Sea Fish Tribe has returned!” She continued shouting.

She, who had originally appeared frail, now looked at those of the Sea Fish Tribe with eyes full of killing intent.

“We-we’re free!” The Sea Fish Tribe people began cheering.

Some of them even pinched themselves before realising this was not a dream. This was reality.

“We’re truly saved!” The Sea Fish Tribe people shouted again.

Their gazes towards the Sea Insect Tribe were no longer fearful, but carried a hint of confidence.

This time was different. They were no longer anyone’s slaves. Now, they had regained their place.

“From now on, our Sea Fish Tribe has returned.” Co Co continued shouting.

“What!?” The Sea Insect Tribe people were all filled with confusion.

They did not know what had happened, but just now they seemed to hear that all their Tribe’s Totem Warriors had been killed.

They naturally began to panic.
