I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 670, Gaining Some Understanding

The stall owner waved his hand, tidied up the wine barrels a bit, and said. “Since you think it’s unreasonable, then we won’t trade.”

After he finished speaking, he sat back in his position and continued crossing his legs while fiddling with the items in front of him.

“Don’t think you’re the only place where we can trade. At worst, I’ll go inside the Flame Dragon Tribe to trade.” Kuang was truly annoyed.

“Sure, going inside the Flame Dragon Tribe doesn’t require so much dried meat, but you lot wouldn’t go inside anyway, right?” The stall owner once again displayed a disdainful expression.

“How do you know we wouldn’t go inside?” Kai rolled his eyes.

“To enter the Flame Dragon Tribe, you have to leave all your weapons behind. You lot are not willing to do that. Otherwise, why are you here?” The stall owner leisurely took a sip of water and continued. “Warriors like you would never leave your weapons behind, so you can only trade with me.”

He looked completely confident, as if the cup of water in his hands had instantly become more fragrant.

“So this is the reason for your arrogance?” Kuang asked with a frown.

“This isn’t me being arrogant. If you’re willing, I’ll trade with you. If you’re not willing, I won’t force you either way.” The stall owner spread his hands.

He immediately put on an innocent act, but inside he could not be happier.

“Fine, I don’t believe everyone is like this.” Kuang turned around angrily and left.

“If you don’t believe it, just go ask them one by one. In the end, you’ll still come back to trade with me.” The stall owner continued organising his wine barrels.

*Step step step…*

Kuang left angrily and went to other stalls to enquire. The answers he received were all similar to the first two stalls.

They all required a great deal of dried meat for trading. A few bags was already quite a lot, but they were asking for ten or twenty bags right off the bat.

In any case, those quantities were enough to make people retreat, let alone actually trade.

“Leader, what do we do now? Should we trade?” Kai actually did not really want to leave.

“We came all this way here. Surely we can’t just leave?” Luo was actually still thinking about food.

The cup of wine he had just drunk… The taste was truly unforgettable, making him want to have a few more sips.

After leaving the wine stall, he kept looking back at those wine barrels along the way.

“Then what should we do? We can’t possibly leave all our weapons behind, can we? That would be far too dangerous, and it’s not what a Warrior should do.” Kuang asked in return.

He felt that as a Totem Warrior, one must protect one’s weapons properly.

Handing over weapons to people from other Tribes and going in empty-handed would be too dangerous. Doing so would undoubtedly be placing one’s life in others’ hands. Totem Warriors should not act like that.

“Actually, including the last time I came with you, I’ve been to the Flame Dragon Tribe twice, and nothing happened either time.”

Kai thought seriously for a moment and continued. “If something was going to happen, it would have happened already.”

“Actually, I think the Flame Dragon Tribe probably really wants to run a market. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have traded with us last time.” Li speculated.

“That’s what everyone in the Spotted Deer Tribe says. If they wanted to harm us, there’d be no need to do all this.” Luo also thought it made sense.

“My suggestion is also to go in and have a look. After all, we’re from a Large Tribe. What can they do to us?” Lan also chimed in agreement.

Kuang was somewhat persuaded by what they said. He blinked his eyes and pondered for a moment, then nodded. “In that case, let’s go in and have a look.”

After thinking about it seriously, he also felt it made sense. A Tribe wanting to start a market probably would not do anything underhanded.

“Excellent! Once we go in, we can trade back that perfume and wine from earlier.” Kai immediately laughed out loud.

“This way, we won’t have to look at those stall owners’ faces. Later, we must properly humiliate them!” Luo got angry just thinking about those people’s attitudes.

“Exactly, we’ll deliberately wave those goods right in front of their eyes!” Lan also hated those people.

The tone of voice and expressions those stall owners used were particularly contemptuous.

*Step step step…*

Kuang and the others came to the entrance of the Flame Dragon Tribe to be inspected, and all the weapons of various sizes on their bodies were searched out.

Spears, short knives, and bone knives, everything was collected.

“When you finish trading and come to the Tribe entrance, these items will be returned to you.” He Chuan said, taking the lead.

“You must keep them safe for us. Don’t lose them under any circumstances.” Kuang was still somewhat dissatisfied.

He had never heard of going to a Tribe to trade things, needing to have all weapons confiscated.

If the items inside the Flame Dragon Tribe were not satisfactory after going in, he would never come here again.

He would even tell people from other Tribes about this matter, making them all keep their guard up.

“Don’t worry. As long as you don’t lose this wooden plaque, you can exchange it for your weapons.” He Chuan had someone give them the wooden plaques.

Each person would receive a wooden plaque when storing their weapons, with the number of weapons carved on the plaque.

“Let’s go.” Kuang snorted coldly and led his people inside.

*Step step step…*

Seeing this, people from other Tribes also rushed to store their weapons, thinking that if even people from a Large Tribe had gone in, they definitely needed to have a look.

After entering the Flame Dragon Tribe, everyone was completely stunned. Apart from the cement houses and cement roads, the main thing was those enclosed areas, from which strange sounds kept emanating from.

They did not know what was happening inside, as everything was tightly covered by tall branches, leaves, and Animal Hides.

“Why does it feel different from when I came last time?” Kai looked around in surprise.

He discovered that the Flame Dragon Tribe had changed once again, no longer looking as orderly as before.

Not that it was chaotic now, but within the orderliness there were many enclosures where the contents were unknown.

“It looks like they’re probably constructing cement houses and deliberately enclosed them so we do not find out their secret.” Li analysed.

That was all she could analyse. Otherwise, why would they block things off for no reason?

Also, the barriers were so high. They were clearly the height of cement houses.

“What you say makes sense. It seems we need to find a time to have a look.” Kai developed such thoughts after gaining some understanding.

“Yeah, let’s have a proper look at how the Flame Dragon Tribe constructs their cement houses.” Kuang agreed.

After returning and spreading this information, their Giant Bear Tribe might very well be able to construct cement houses too.

“Should we go look now?” Luo was honestly also somewhat curious.

Apart from food, this was what he was most curious about. After all, those cement houses looked amazing.

“Let’s wait a bit before doing that. First let’s go see what items we can trade for.” Kuang still thought of the main goal for coming here.
