I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 677, The Massive Plan

At nightfall, Su Bai and the others finished their dinner and were resting. They had noodles for their evening meal.

“Shaman, what would you like for breakfast tomorrow?” Yu Ying asked, swishing her pink fox tail.

Now that there were many more foods available and quite a variety that could be prepared, Yu Ying would always ask whenever she was cooking.

“You decide what to make. I’ll enjoy whatever you prepare,” Su Bai said gently.

With options like noodles, wheat porridge, roasted meat, and sweet potato slices available now, every type of food turned out well when prepared with seasoning.

“Yes, then I’ll fry some wild eggs tomorrow,” Yu Ying’s crisp voice replied.

“That sounds good. Having some wheat porridge would be refreshing and pleasant too,” Su Bai smiled.

Sha Lan brushed her long blue hair and softly said, “Shaman, the weapons crafted by the weapons workshop have been distributed.”

Sha Lan was referring to the shields made from that Ferocious Beast’s shell, though for now they had only been distributed to the existing Totem Warriors.

The newly awakened Totem Warriors from this year had not received theirs yet. Su Bai wanted them to gain more experience before allocating equipment to them.

The purpose was to prevent them from becoming too dependent on weapons, ensuring they would develop till their full potential.

He could not allow his presence and the things he developed to cause the new generation of Totem Warriors to regress in skills.

“Good. If you work hard, you’ll be able to obtain these as well.” Su Bai encouraged.

He could tell the girls all desperately wanted these items from their longing expressions.

“Shaman, I will definitely work hard,” Yan Hua immediately said seriously.

Yan Hua was very fond of those shields. She had wanted to possess one from the moment she first saw it.

She did not want to always rely on dodging and hiding. That if her evasion failed, the result would be injuries. Having a shield would make everything more convenient and allow for more courageous advances.

“That’s good to hear,” Su Bai smiled faintly and continued asking, “How has your recent training been?”

He had not heard them complaining about being tired lately, and they always returned cheerfully, ready to eat.

“Our recent training has been getting progressively easier. Perhaps our stamina has improved, so we don’t feel tired anymore,” Sha Lan explained.

Sha Lan was not sure why this was happening, but she later speculated it might be due to their Totem Power.

Most likely their Totem Power was growing stronger, making their previous training routines feel less exhausting.

“I was planning to suggest they increase the training intensity, since we don’t feel tired anymore,” Yan Hua said after taking a large gulp of tea.

Yan Hua believed the more exhausting the better. Only when both body and mind felt fatigued was training truly effective.

She had always felt this way. These past few days’ training had not been tiring enough, so Yan Hua felt she had not trained till complete satisfaction.

“Moderation is best. You’ve just advanced from being Warrior Trainees. Trusting the instructor’s judgement is the right approach.” Su Bai consoled.

He did not want them getting overly fatigued.

He wanted to see the girls living more comfortably, without constantly burying themselves in intensive practice. Otherwise, all the developments he had created would be for naught if only he could enjoy them. So, moderation was key.

“It’s no trouble, Shaman. Otherwise, we’d have nothing to do each day. Additional training is also good for us,” Yan Hua said with a cheerful laugh.

Su Bai lifted his tea cup thoughtfully and asked, “What if I had you train people? How would you feel about that?”

“Train people? Shaman, who are you planning to have us train?” Sha Lan asked curiously.

“Shaman, I feel like we’re not very skilled yet. We probably haven’t reached the level where we could train others.” Yan Hua said with uncertainty.

She had always believed she needed to become even stronger. Suddenly asking to train others made her genuinely worried.

“Ha ha ha…” Su Bai laughed heartily and continued, “I don’t mean having you train the Warrior Trainees, and certainly not the Totem Warriors.”

“Does the Shaman mean you want us to train ordinary people?” Sha Lan could not believe her ears.

“Ordinary people have very poor stamina. They might struggle to endure our training intensity.” Yan Hua worried.

Su Bai sipped his tea and said softly, “Of course I’m not asking you to train them harshly. I have other arrangements in mind.”

“Shaman, what are you planning to do?” Sha Lan sat up straight.

“I plan to establish an army, but I’ll need some soldiers,” Su Bai said.

He wanted to establish an army in this Primitive Era, similar to those back on Earth.

Totem Warriors and Warrior Trainees were naturally formidable, but was the current arrangement not too reliant on them?

For instance, among those who participated in the Totem Awakening Ceremony, out of the whole population, relatively few awakened as Warriors.

All security matters, large and small, depended entirely on these Warriors for maintenance. Should anything happen to the Warriors, the Tribe would be finished.

The entire Flame Dragon Tribe had so many young men though. Why not organize them into an army?

They did not need to possess Totem Power or exceptional physical strength, just the ability to use weapons and follow orders.

The weapons he had developed were all quite simple to use. Anyone who applied themselves could learn to operate them.

Once soldiers were trained, they could handle the patrols, relieving pressure on the Warriors.

The Warriors could then focus on their specialized responsibilities.

“Soldiers? Shaman, what are soldiers?” Sha Lan had never heard this term before.

“Shaman, are they a type of Warrior?” Yan Hua guessed curiously.

Su Bai’s thick eyebrows rose slightly as he nodded. “Yes, they’re a type of Warrior, though soldiers aren’t as capable as you are.”

“What would the Shaman like us to do?” Yan Hua was beginning to find this interesting.

“I want you to select a group of people with reasonably good physique and begin training them daily.” Su Bai explained simply.

Explaining too much to them now would be pointless. People of the Primitive Era had no understanding of Earth’s governmental systems.

“Is that all we need to do?” Yan Hua thought it seemed rather straightforward.

“That’s enough for now. I’ll inform you of additional arrangements later,” Su Bai nodded.

Physical training alone would eliminate quite a few people. Those who remained would be reasonably capable.

“Understood. After our training tomorrow, we’ll begin the selection process,” Sha Lan immediately responded.

Su Bai set down his tea cup and said, “Remember, the initial training mustn’t be too intense.”

He was concerned that starting too aggressively would frighten away many candidates, causing his grand army plan to flounder from the very beginning.

“Understood,” Sha Lan nodded.
