I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 681, It Would Be a Waste Not to Use It

[System, check in and open the Assistance Package.] Su Bai’s first action upon waking each day.

Su Bai weighed the cucumber seeds in his hand, saying with satisfaction. “Finally got a new crop.”

Recently he had opened quite a few Assistance Packages, but each time they contained only daily necessities.

There had not been any vegetables or fruits, so these cucumbers were a great boon.

Su Bai got up and simply changed his clothes, walking out of his room to prepare for breakfast.

After washing up, he asked. “Where are Ah’Hua and the others? Aren’t they eating breakfast today?”

“Shaman, they got up particularly early today, ate something simple and went off to work.” Yu Ying explained.

“Oh? Do you know what they went to work on?” Su Bai asked curiously.

“They said they wanted to complete the tasks the Shaman has assigned them, and with training today as well, they feared they wouldn’t have time, so they got up very early.” Yu Ying explained.

“I see, they’re really eager.” Su Bai smiled, truly helpless with them.

“Shaman, please eat quickly, I’ve just finished cooking.” Yu Ying said gently.

Su Bai nodded, eating while asking. “Any news from Co Co’s side? It’s been several days already.”

“No news yet, but it should be within these next couple of days.” Yu Ying looked up.

“Okay.” Su Bai said softly.

After more than half an hour, the two finished their simple breakfast and went off to attend to their respective duties.

Su Bai sat in his position and continued researching Shaman Bone Tablets, thinking that for the Tribe’s development, he needed to quickly research the Taming Shaman Bone Tablet.

Not only that, once research succeeded, the following matters would become much easier.

For instance, his Growth Acceleration Skill. This could likewise be crafted into Shaman Bone Tablets, which would be enormously helpful for the Tribe’s agriculture.

Then he would not need to personally go to the agricultural fields every day to cast the Growth Acceleration Skill. He could let others handle this work.

Because Growth Acceleration Skill had limited uses per day, just those few times, and it would be a waste not to use it.

This was why he went to the agricultural fields every day, to avoid wasting these limited uses, always wanting to quickly see the crops’ development.

“Right, there’s also this packet of cucumber seeds.” Su Bai placed the cucumber seeds on the desk surface.

He immediately cast Growth Acceleration Skill on the cucumber seeds, then called over the nearby Yu Ying.

“Shaman, what is it? Do you want something to drink or eat?” Yu Ying immediately walked over.

“No, these are cucumber seeds, take them down and have someone plant them.” Su Bai handed over the seeds that had the Growth Acceleration Skill casted upon them.

Yu Ying took the packet of seeds and began examining them, asking puzzledly. “Shaman, what kind of vegetable is this?”

Yu Ying had never heard such an unfamiliar term before, though hearing they needed planting, she knew they were crops.

“Something excellent whether eaten raw or used for cooking.” Su Bai explained.

Back on Earth there were numerous foods made with cucumbers, like smashed cucumber, cucumber fried with meat, or various dried cucumber slices and such. In any case, they were very refreshing and sweet, with a crisp texture when eaten. A true treasured crop.

It was also a crop that Transmigrators would love to have. They were convenient to plant and even more convenient to eat.

“Doesn’t that sound rather similar to tomatoes?” Yu Ying looked at those seeds in surprise.

One should know that when tomatoes were first grown, they were very popular, with everyone who tasted them praising them endlessly.

Of course, currently only so many people could eat them: the Chieftain, the Hunting Team Leader, plus some Totem Warriors and Warrior Trainees.

“Similar, but the taste differs from tomatoes. These are more refreshing and sweet, and crisp when eaten.” Su Bai explained.

Tomatoes were softer when eaten, lacking cucumber’s crispness, with a more acidic flavour.

“Wonder what they look like.” Yu Ying’s pink eyes kept looking at those seeds.

“They’re greenish-yellow, and quite long. You’ll know once they are grown.” Su Bai smiled.

“Shaman, is there anything special to note when planting them?” Yu Ying swished her pink fox tail.

“Just plant them normally, once they sprout, I’ll teach you what to do.” Su Bai explained.

Originally planting cucumbers required scalding the seeds and germination procedures. After successful germination came sowing, which was to increase their survivability.

However, these cucumber seeds had already had Growth Acceleration Skill cast upon them, raising survival rates to particularly high levels. These troublesome steps were naturally unnecessary, with the subsequent scaffolding construction work to be discussed after sprouting.

“Yes.” Yu Ying nodded.

*Step step step…*

*Knock knock knock…*

Shu Feng strode from outside to the second floor of the Yong’an Building, knocking and entering after receiving permission.

He immediately approached the Shaman, reporting. “Shaman, we’ve returned from the Sea Fish Tribe.”

“En, how is the situation there?” Su Bai asked.

“Everything was fine. Since the Sea Insect Tribe’s Totem Warriors and Warrior Trainees were all dealt with, as were the Shaman and Chieftain.” Shu Feng steadied his breathing, continuing. “Those remaining, upon seeing our Totem Warriors, dare not do anything, especially since that place originally belonged to the Sea Fish Tribe.”

“Good that Co Co and the others are safe. How’s the management? Are those people obedient?” Su Bai continued asking.

“I specifically asked them about this. Those people are quite docile. As long as they have food, there is no problem with order.” Shu Feng reported.

“Seems those people aren’t as difficult to manage as I imagined. Continue having the Warriors stay there, and have Qiong Gu properly manage the Sea Fish Tribe.” Su Bai paused, continuing, “Have them continue with their tasks for a while longer. After some time, others will be sent to replace them and bring some dried meat over.”

He also knew that the Warriors currently at Sea Fish Tribe surely missed the Flame Dragon Tribe. That was why he started the soldier training, to have more military force.

“I understand.” Shu Feng responded.

“By the way, how are the birds we had you take over?” Su Bai asked.

“I’ve already instructed the Chieftain. He said test flights would be arranged within these couple of days, so they might return within the next day or two.” Shu Feng explained.

Su Bai nodded, lifting his teacup and saying. “Once those birds return, make another trip to the Sea Fish Tribe to relay the message I just gave.”

“Yes, Shaman.” Shu Feng nodded.

“Good, go rest.” Su Bai said calmly.
