I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 680, The Process

“Is it really only this much?” Kuang was somewhat incredulous.

He had heard the cost before, but this was really cheap. These were cement houses, after all. They were something that did not exist anywhere else.

This point alone would be enough to extort others. So, he had not expected the Flame Dragon Tribe to only charge one bag of dried meat.

This was what truly puzzled Kuang. It felt rather unrealistic.

“It’s one bag of dried meat per room for one night.” The receptionist said earnestly.

This rate had also been set by Su Bai. One room for one portion of dried meat really was not that much.

However, there would be many people staying. With so many people coming and going in the future, more guests meant more dried meat.

Besides, this was just the beginning. Setting the rate too high from the start would not work either, as they would not be willing to stay. If they did, they might cram several people into one room, just to save up on cost.

Setting a lower rate now would make those people happier with the overall experience, so after leaving the Flame Dragon Tribe they would enthusiastically spread the word.

This way, it would be like advertising for the Flame Dragon Tribe. Rather than building momentum Tribe by Tribe, it was better to have these people help. It would be twice as effective with half the effort.

“I understand. Then we don’t need one person per room. Just give us ten rooms.” Kuang said.

He did not want to give away too much dried meat at once either. After all, they were all Warriors accustomed to living in the Wilderness.

Two people sharing a room was not a problem. They could not be too extravagant. One person per room would be excessive.

“Understood, I’ll arrange it for you.” The receptionist said softly, recording on Wolf Tail Grass Paper.

After a few minutes, she looked up and handed wooden plaques to everyone. Numbers were written on the plaques.

Numbers 1-10 respectively. These were all in Chinese Characters, which the Giant Bear Tribe people could not understand.

“What are these?” Kai asked in confusion.

“These are your room numbers. There are matching numbers at the room doors. Just find the room with the corresponding number and go in.” The receptionist explained.

“I see.” Kai nodded thoughtfully.

“I’ll take you up since this is your first time here.” The receptionist warmly said.

*Step step step…*

The receptionist led the Giant Bear Tribe people inside. Rooms 1-10 were all on the second floor.

She took everyone to their respective rooms one by one, while reminding them of some precautions.

‘Don’t make too much noise, don’t disturb others’ rest, and especially don’t damage anything in the rooms. If they violated any rule, dried meat would be deducted from their deposit.’

Kuang and the others had deposited ten bags of dried meat at the front desk. They could only retrieve these ten bags when checking out, provided they did not violate any rules.

Kai and the others returned to their respective rooms, everyone surveying the room environment with amazement.

“So this is the inside of a cement house!” Luo stared with widened eyes in surprise.

After looking around, he did not even blink, just kept staring at the surrounding environment.

The room’s furnishings were simple. There were just beds and a simple table and chairs.

Besides that, there were some decorative Beast Fangs and Beast Bones, and some Animal Hides hanging on the walls.

There was nothing else. The overall feeling was spacious and simple.

“I didn’t expect it to be like this inside. Although the room isn’t large, it looks really nice.” Kai praised.

He was sharing a room with Luo. Both had been wandering around the room non-stop since entering.

“Yes, it looks even better than wooden houses.” Luo nodded in agreement repeatedly.

“I thought it would be dried grass piles.” Kai sat on the bed feeling it, continuing. “I just don’t know what this thing is made of. It’s so comfortable.”

Luo also lay down, enjoying it. “It really is very comfortable. I like this feeling.”

“One night for one bag of dried meat is really worth it. We could stay several more nights.” Kai smiled.

“If only we could have one room each. I could sleep on this for an eternity that way.” Luo buried his head in the pillow.

The pillow was sewn from Animal Hide, the blanket was a thin Animal Hide, and the bed sheet was also Animal Hide.

“You’re dreaming. We still need to save up on dried meat to trade for other things.” Kai reminded.

“I know, I’m just saying. I’m still waiting to eat more delicious food tomorrow.” Luo felt saliva about to flow out.

“Speaking of which, the food here is really delicious. I wonder how they make it?” Kai sighed.

He could already feel his mouth watering. He had just finished eating and was already missing it.

“Who knows? As long as it’s delicious.” Luo waved his hand.

“It would be great if we could learn how to make it.” Kai suddenly had a whimsical idea.

Luo suddenly sat up, saying mysteriously. “We could actually trade for it. That way it wouldn’t be a loss.”

“You’re dreaming. They’d never agree to trade such secrets with us.” Kai rolled his eyes.

“How is it impossible? We could offer lots of dried meat. I don’t believe they wouldn’t be tempted.” Luo said with conviction.

“You saw how popular the Flame Dragon Tribe’s Central Market was today. What they lack least is dried meat.” Kai waved his hand, continuing. “They already have so much dried meat. Do you think they’d still be tempted by our dried meat?”

He was rational, knowing how to analyse the pros and cons of the situation. These things were obviously impossible without thinking.

The barbecue shop was unique to the Flame Dragon Tribe. They would definitely keep this uniqueness firmly in their grasp. How could they casually trade its secret to other Tribes?

“What you’re saying makes sense, but that meat is truly too delicious.” Luo sighed.

He was still thinking about that barbecue, wishing they could open up a shop in their Tribe too.

If they could open one in the Giant Bear Tribe, he would definitely eat there every day and never need to come to the Flame Dragon Tribe again.

“Not just the barbecue, their wine and perfume are also exceptional. How did they develop such wonderful things?” Kai was still immersed in shock.

The day’s tour of the Flame Dragon Tribe Central Market was vivid in his memory, as if he were still there.

“Yeah, bringing them back to the Chieftain and Shaman will definitely shock them. They’ll definitely love these things.” Luo said without hesitation.

“It’s just hard on us… we have no way to own them.” Kai sighed.

Just like the ceramics last time, wanting to own them but having no way to do so even though he was the Chieftain’s Son.

“We can only save up dried meat ourselves. Next time we come, we can trade then.” Luo consoled.

He did not care much about all that. As long as there was food to eat, though he did want those things too.
