I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 673, Don’t Let Others Exchange Everything

Translator: Silavin

Kuang and the others were led by a special guide to the entrance of the Central Market, and everyone was stunned.

They all looked up at that large plaque. However, they did not recognise what the characters on it were.

Although the Giant Bear Tribe knew how to read and write, the writing systems between Tribes were all different. How could they possibly know the characters of other Tribes? Seeing those characters of the Flame Dragon Tribe was strange to them.

It was the first time they had seen this kind of writing. Admittedly, they found it simple and clean, quite beautiful.

“Is this the Central Market of the Flame Dragon Tribe?” Kai kept looking up.

The guide had explained to them that they no longer called this place a simple ‘market’. From today onwards it would be called the Central Market, and the Central Market would exist permanently, while other markets would only exist for a short period of time.

“They say that the Central Market will exist permanently. That means it will not close. Isn’t that unrealistic?” Luo suddenly said.

“I think so too, how can there be so many things to put out for us to trade for permanently?” Li also thought it would not work.

“Who knows, we’ll see when we look, anyway we won’t be coming here every day.” Kuang waved his hand.

*Step step step…*

Everyone stepped towards the inside of the Central Market, discovering that the entrance to it already had people.

However, all those people were Totem Warriors of the Flame Dragon Tribe, apparently there to maintain order.

“A place for trade has so many Warriors stationed here, it’s like they think we’ll steal something.” Lan exercised her sharp tongue again.

She felt very uncomfortable looking at those Warriors around her. Now, she felt really uncomfortable having her weapon confiscated.

After all, the Warriors here all carried weapons, as if guarding against something, while they had nothing to defend themselves with.

“This is someone else’s Tribe, moreover they have such amazing goods, it’s normal to be cautious.” Luo rubbed his big belly.

“Let’s not talk first, let’s see what we want to trade for first, who knows what trouble they’ll cause again.” Kuang was still very cautious.

When he had his weapon confiscated at the entrance, he felt extremely uncomfortable, just wanting to quickly trade and leave this place.

“I wonder how pricy the wine here is? Those perfumes as well?” Kai was a bit curious.

He just hoped it would not be as expensive as outside.

“Let’s go and see first, those from other Tribes have all entered, so we don’t know how many they have left.” Kuang was afraid everything would be traded away before they got to the stalls.

“Yeah, since we’re the first to enter, let’s quickly trade, lest they trade everything away and have no more stock for us.” Li remembered the incident with the Spotted Deer Tribe.

At that time, they wanted to trade for some salt, but unfortunately they were too slow, and everything was traded away by other Tribes.

“Look, over there, it seems to be perfume. Let’s go have a look.” Lan saw the stall on the left-hand side upon entering.

Actually, it was not really a stall, but a ground floor shop. The entire ground floor area was used as a shop.

Everyone stepped towards that shop, only seeing a sign hanging at the entrance.

The sign had the two characters for perfume(香水) written on it, though of course they definitely could not understand these two characters.

Just from outside they could see wooden shelves inside the room, with bottles and jars placed on them.

These bottles and jars were all very small, and all made from Beast Bone into small bottles.

“Is this where perfume is traded?” Kai asked upon entering.

“That’s right, we have perfumes of various scents, which kind do you want?” The shop manager walked straight out.

Since the Central Market had just opened, many Tribes did not know about it yet, so each shop only had one person.

That person was the shop manager responsible for business. If later more people came to the Flame Dragon Tribe, each shop would naturally recruit more people, but now there was no need to waste manpower.

“How is your perfume traded here? It won’t be ten bags of dried meat again, will it?” Kai asked nervously.

After he asked, his heart kept hanging, the others were the same, all hoping the other party would directly shake their head.

“You saw the stall at the entrance, right? Trading with them requires so much. But, trading with me would not require as much.” The shop manager smiled slightly, held up one hand making a five, and said. “Only need five bags of dried meat.”

The perfumes placed in the perfume shop were all not very large bottles, all small bottles. Each bottle was roughly the length of an index finger, with a width about as thick as an adult thumb.

In short, they were miniature, with the amount of perfume inside at most only enough for about ten sprays.

These were bottles Su Bai had specifically had people make, purposely not to hold too much perfume.

Perfume was a consumable item, if the bottles were made too large, users definitely could not finish using them.

It was hard to set its value: set it high and others would not purchase, set it low and it would make perfume seem cheap.

Making the bottles smaller was the best solution, five bags of dried meat would not be particularly much for those from large Tribes.

“Five bags of dried meat? Half less than outside, it is acceptable.” Kuang felt this amount was manageable.

They had brought dozens of bags of dried meat this time, not worried about having nothing to trade, and had many other things to trade too.

“So how many bottles do you want?” The shop manager made gestures preparing to package it up already.

“Give us one bottle first, we still want to trade other things.” Kuang pondered.

He could not possibly trade for so many of this one item at once, not knowing whether his Tribe’s people would like it.

Moreover, this thing would be given to the Chieftain and Shaman after they return, it would only be useful if they found it useful.

“Just one bottle? Then if you want to trade again later, it might not be of this quantity.” The shop manager showed a regretful expression.

“What does that mean?” Kai asked, puzzled.

“You also saw, there are many other Tribes outside, not just you. More Tribes will come in the next few days as well.”

The shop manager looked at the perfumes on the shelf, continuing. “Making perfume requires a long time, this is all there is now. When others come to trade with me, I might have nothing to sell you next time. At that point, even seven or eight bags of dried meat would not get you anything.”

“Then give us two bottles, we still want to trade for wine and ceramics, as well as other things.” Kuang gritted his teeth.

He was now just hoping bringing these things back would not get them scolded.

As soon as they entered this shop, they could smell the rich fragrance. It made them feel somewhat intoxicated, just like being in a large flower garden. He just hoped that the Chieftain and Shaman would be impressed by this as well.

“Alright, no problem, the wine shop is opposite me.” The shop manager pointed enthusiastically.

He was not anxious, there were still many people coming one after another, plenty of fish in the sea.

That speech just now was mainly to push them to purchase more. Ever since perfume production succeeded, Su Bai had continuously had people start producing perfume. Still, fermentation needed time. Nevertheless, they should have plenty to sell.

“Good.” Kuang turned back to look at that shop.
