I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 668, Dangerous Behaviour

Translator: Silavin

Within the forest, people continuously advanced towards the Flame Dragon Tribe, each person’s face filled with anticipation.

*Rustle rustle…*

As they travelled through the forest, their bodies constantly scraped against tree branches, producing continuous rustling sounds.

These people had all heard about the Flame Dragon Tribe while at the Spotted Deer Tribe, and had followed along because of it.

Among them were people from the Giant Bear Tribe. Originally, they had not wanted to come, planning to wait until next time.

They had just finished trading for so many things at the Spotted Deer Tribe, so there was no need to make another trip to the Flame Dragon Tribe.

However, they had continuously heard people praising the goods of the Flame Dragon Tribe, which made it too tempting to skip.

People from various Tribes were equally tempted, so those who had time all followed along.

Looking down from the sky, these people were divided into several groups walking through the forest, chattering as they went.

“Do you reckon the Flame Dragon Tribe really has such amazing things?”

“Who knows, but quite a few people have traded for many excellent items from the Flame Dragon Tribe. I think it should be true.”

“I also think it’s true. If it were a lie, there’d be no reason to make us travel such a long distance.”

“Exactly. Once we get there, everything will be clear. Fortunately, I’ve saved up plenty of dried meat to trade.”

“Same here. Once I see something special, I’ll trade for some to take back.”

“But what about the Spotted Deer Tribe then? That’s also a market.”

“I don’t care what happens to the Spotted Deer Tribe. As long as whichever Tribe has great goods, that’s where I’ll go.”

“…”

Such discussions continuously echoed through the forest, each person in high spirits.

They all wanted to see what goods the Flame Dragon Tribe had, and had all saved up plenty of dried meat for trading.

*Step step step…*

After more than two hours, everyone had successively arrived at the entrance to the Flame Dragon Tribe.

However, they could not enter directly. There were people guarding the entrance to the Flame Dragon Tribe.

“What’s going on? Didn’t they say the Flame Dragon Tribe has a market? Why won’t they let us in?” Kuang frowned.

“It could be a misunderstanding, or perhaps there’s some new arrangements?” Kai speculated.

They saw many Totem Warriors and Warrior Trainees standing at the entrance to the Flame Dragon Tribe, all holding weapons.

At the same time, there were many other ordinary people standing nearby, as if something was happening.

“Let’s go ask and we’ll know,” Luo said, rubbing his big belly as he stepped forward.

“Didn’t they say the Flame Dragon Tribe is now hosting a market? Why won’t you let us in? This is strange.” The chubby Luo had been thinking constantly about eating the Flame Dragon Tribe’s delicious food, so he was quite willing to take the initiative to enquire.

“Anyone wanting to enter the Flame Dragon Tribe must submit to inspection. Otherwise, you can only trade things outside,” He Chuan said, pointing to the people nearby.

This time, he was the one responsible for inspections at the entrance, leading the Warriors behind him. Only a few were Seniors; with the rest just having awakened.

“We still need to be inspected? Why do we need to submit to an inspection just to trade for some things?” Luo was rather puzzled.

“Anyone entering the Flame Dragon Tribe must submit to an inspection. Without accepting it, there’s no way to enter.” He Chuan said without budging.

“What will be inspected?” Luo removed his hand from his belly, feeling that it would not be so easy to enter.

“All the weapons on your bodies must be left behind. We’ll help you safekeep them and return them when you leave.” He Chuan said word by word.

Luo suspected he had misheard, but seeing the other’s confirming gaze, he asked again, “Are you serious?”

“…” He Chuan did not respond further. His words had already been quite clear.

*Step step step…*

Luo returned to his group with a confused expression, repeating what had just happened, his expression was one of bewilderment.

“What? To enter the Flame Dragon Tribe we have to leave our weapons behind?” Kuang was the first to object after hearing this.

“How can we possible accept this? This would be very dangerous for us.” Li also felt this was too inappropriate.

Having just awakened as a Totem Warrior, such behaviour sounded dangerous right away. No matter what, she could not agree to it.

“Then what do we do? Should we just not go in?” Kai felt that they had spent so much time already.

“We spent quite a lot of time and didn’t trade for any goods. Now they want us to leave all our weapons behind. Going in like this would be very dangerous.” Lan’s fiery temper was showing.

“But they said we could trade at the stalls outside, though those people are all from other Tribes.”

Luo pointed to the stalls on both sides of the entrance, continuing, “They also said those people had finished trading at the Flame Dragon Tribe and had come out, saying if we’re willing, we can go trade there instead.”

“That’s true. The Spotted Deer Tribe is the same. There are also people setting up stalls at the entrance.”

Kai looked towards the direction of the stalls, continuing. “We might be able to go have a look there.”

“En, I agree too. Whether the Flame Dragon Tribe has truly great goods or not can be seen from there.” Li also felt this was a good method.

It would allow them to check the goods while not having to leave their weapons behind. It was indeed a method that killed two birds with one stone.

“…” Kuang thought about it and also felt it made sense, so he had nothing to add.

*Step step step…*

Everyone began walking towards the stalls. Others who went forward to enquire received the same response.

They saw that the Giant Bear Tribe people had walked over first, so those people, not wanting to lose out, followed closely behind.

Kai was the first to walk up to a perfume stall, asking curiously, “What are you selling here?”

“It looks rather like Ferocious Beast Blood,” Li said with a frown as she examined it.

“This isn’t any Ferocious Beast Blood. This is something only the Flame Dragon Tribe has.”

The stall owner picked up a bottle of perfume with a proud expression, saying proudly, “This is perfume.”

“What is perfume? I’m hearing this for the first time,” Kuang frowned.

He felt that this Flame Dragon Tribe was rather strange. The previous item called ceramics was already odd, and now there was something called perfume.

“Right, why is it stored in Beast Bone? It looks just like Ferocious Beast Blood,” Li asked irritably.

Li had quite a short temper. Seeing the stall owner’s proud and self-satisfied appearance, and then seeing him being mysterious, it made her angry.

“Perfume can make our bodies fragrant, rather than having the stench that you all currently reek of.” The stall owner clearly showed disdain.

Then he smelled his own clothes, showing an expression of complete joy.

“This is perfume? What you’re saying sounds just like flowers. Wouldn’t it be the same if I rubbed flowers on my body?” Kai had thought it was something magical.

It was not rare for them to pick some fresh, fragrant wildflowers and rub the wildflowers on their bodies. This was to mask the odour on their bodies, though it was mostly women who did this.
