I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 686, Dazzled by the Display

Ah Liv and the others rose early, having slept remarkably comfortably the previous night. Each one of them had essentially collapsed into sleep upon lying down.

The interior had left everyone genuinely impressed, having never witnessed such architectural sophistication before. The decorative elements were equally distinctive, but most importantly, the sleeping quarters provided extraordinary comfort.

“Last night was the most comfortable sleep I’ve had in my entire life!” Ah Liv remarked with appreciation.

The young woman felt completely refreshed throughout her body, finally understanding what proper rest truly felt like.

The experience at the Restful Night Building intensified her admiration for Flame Dragon Tribe, recognising that those residing here possessed extraordinary fortune.

“This location is great as well.” Ban observed. Having spent merely one night at Restful Night Building, he had become completely won over by the Flame Dragon Tribe.

Without even exploring other areas, he had seemingly transformed into a devoted supporter of the Flame Dragon Tribe.

The previous evening, he had continuously praised Flame Dragon Tribe, finally comprehending why Ah Liv had been so determined to visit.

He regretted not accompanying her initially, realising that earlier arrival would have revealed Flame Dragon Tribe’s excellence much, much sooner.

“I told you it was not a mistake coming here. This place is truly amazing, right?” Ah Liv continued her praise.

“Let’s eat first. Where can we roast our dried meat?” Ban enquired.

Though they had brought their own dried meat, it required proper cooking, and they currently lacked a fire pit.

“I don’t think we can simply light fires here without permission, especially with their stone pavements everywhere.” Ah Liv observed, scanning the surroundings.

“Wait, didn’t you hear last night? They mentioned eating downstairs, didn’t they?” Ban pointed towards the ground floor.

Ah Liv’s green eyes widened instantly as she nodded. “I remember. When we gave them our dried meat last night, they definitely mentioned something about that.”

“Let’s investigate. We need to eat quickly and then trade.” Ban led the way forward.

Green Vine Tribe had not reserved numerous rooms the previous evening, with two or three people sharing each accommodation.

*Chatter chatter chatter…*

Everyone descended to the ground floor, discovering it already populated with people from other Tribes.

“To think, they woke up even earlier than us!” Ah Liv observed.

“Well, we didn’t really wake up that early. Normally at this time, we’d be training.” Ban pointed out matter-of-factly.

The room’s exceptional comfort had caused everyone to oversleep.

Without the cleaning sounds from outside, they would likely have continued sleeping a lot longer.

“We should eat quickly before they eat everything.” Ah Liv laughed, running ahead.

The young woman noticed the ground floor’s spaciousness, with tables and chairs positioned throughout, except for one section dedicated to food display.

That particular section was crowded with people, each holding wooden spoons.

This scene strongly resembled a cafeteria from Earth, precisely Su Bai’s intended design.

The cafeteria model featured numerous spacious tables and chairs for seating, with one designated section exclusively for food service.

Those wanting meals queued at that location to collect their food, naturally requiring prior payment at the front desk.

Before eating, customers visited the front desk to exchange items like dried meat or other goods. After payment, the front desk provided a ticket made from Wolf Tail Grass Paper.

These tickets bore the characters for ‘饭票’ for meal ticket, written by individuals Su Bai had instructed, though most did not understand its meaning.

They had diligently created numerous copies, all stored at the Restful Night Building for use.

*Chatter chatter chatter…*

Ah Liv and her group approached the food display section, becoming dazzled by the abundant variety.

“There’s so much food!” Some Warriors could not help exclaiming.

“Did the Flame Dragon Tribe prepare all of this?” Another Warrior asked, equally amazed.

Ban involuntarily swallowed, his yellow eyes fixed on the food display.

He rubbed his eyes with one hand, saying, “So much food that we’ve never seen before.”

The displayed foods included several varieties: fried Wolf Tail Grass Noodle, roasted meat, pickled meat strips, various vegetables, and preserved vegetables, among others.

The selection appeared remarkably diverse, featuring approximately ten different dishes they had never tasted.

Their amazement stemmed entirely from unfamiliarity, having previously consumed only simple roasted meat.

Even that roasted meat had been unpalatable, sometimes containing fur, not to mention poor flavour.

“I want to try everything!” Ah Liv said, playing with her green hair.

She had not encountered such a variety of food during her previous visit, having only eaten pre-prepared meals then.

“We should each try different items to determine what tastes good and what doesn’t.” Ban suggested.

“I agree,” Ah Liv nodded enthusiastically.

They began selecting their respective dishes, filling their plates completely with food.

“These plates are quite distinctive too,” Ban observed, examining the tableware.

The plate design matched cafeteria plates from Earth, single plates containing both rice and vegetables.

Shaped like lotus leaves, these plates could accommodate substantial portions.

“Yes, everything fits together. Yours looks delicious too.” Ah Liv blinked her green eyes.

“Eat quickly so we can go and trade,” Ban urged.

Everyone began enjoying their respective meals, and upon first taste, all were won over by the flavours.

Not a single person complained about the food quality; everyone produced sounds of appreciation. Additionally, there were smacking sounds, indicating their genuine enjoyment.

“I never expected everything to be so delicious.” Ban’s eyes widened instantly.

The meal’s aroma had impressed him, though the actual flavour exceeded his expectations.

“Didn’t I tell you? I said Flame Dragon Tribe’s food is the best.” Ah Liv declared proudly.

She suddenly looked triumphant, seeing her consistent assertions finally validated.

“No wonder you insisted on coming, and barely ate our food back home.” Ban suddenly understood.

In the Green Vine Tribe, she had found everything unappetising, eating very small portions.

This behaviour was uncharacteristic, as she had previously possessed an excellent appetite and eaten substantial amounts.

“*Hmph!* I don’t believe you will want to eat our food back home after tasting this!” Ah Liv looked amused.

*Ha ha ha ha…* Ban laughed so hard that food sprayed from his mouth, continuing, “Aren’t we planning to bring many items back? We can eat these then.”

The excellent goods they were exchanging would naturally be available to their Warriors, though others might not have access to them.

“I wonder how much we can trade for though, and what excellent items have appeared?” Ah Liv mused.
