Transmigrated To Ancient Time: Thrive With An Auction System!

Chapter 266: Sky-high Price Sauce ( 3 )

Yao Zhi knew that she couldn’t force her modern views onto the ancients. But when she saw Xi Si was so scared just because she woke up late, she couldn’t help but feel heartache for her.

In the modern era, a girl her age was still in elementary school, enjoying her parents’ pampering and having fun with her friends. Her most troublesome problem was not doing her homework well.

Not like her, who had lost her father and most of her family due to the political struggle, and became a slave with a status lower than a dog.

After a long silence, Yao Zhi finally said, ”Xi Si, do you remember what I told you when I brought you back then?”

Xi Si nodded and replied, ”Master said that you wouldn’t treat us as slaves and we shouldn’t think lowly of ourselves.”

”Since you remember my words, then why did you do this?” Yao Zhi asked.

”Master, being treated well by you is our blessing, but we can’t forget our status. No matter what, we are slaves. We are not even worthy to become your maids. So, how could I...”

Before she finished her words, Yao Zhi interrupted her.

”Xi Si, you are just a child. It’s okay to sleep more. Even if you make a mistake, as long as you realize your mistake and change it, I won’t punish you. No one is perfect in this world, and everyone makes mistakes, including me.”

”What’s more, I promised to give you a new identity, and I will definitely fulfill my promise. Also, I don’t like people kowtowing to me. It’s unlucky. So, don’t do that anymore.”

When she heard this, Xi Si was stunned. From all of the people she knew, her Master was the only one who said this.

Most people, especially those from wealthy and noble families, liked to punish others by making them kneel because it gave them a sense of superiority.

Seeing her say nothing, Yao Zhi pinched her nose lightly and asked, ”Do you hear what I’m saying?”

Coming back to her senses, Xi Si nodded and replied, ”Master, I understand.”

”Good. Now, help me bring the utensils. The food is getting cold,” Yao Zhi smiled and rubbed her head.

After their conversation, Xi Si became more attached to her.

As the eldest legitimate daughter of Marquis Yongning, she was expected to become a role model for her siblings. Even her mother would punish her if she made a slight mistake. This was the first time someone told her that it’s okay to make a mistake.

”Shi’er, it’s time to eat,” Yao Zhi called out as she walked to Xi Si’s room.

Soon after, Ling Shi’er entered the room with his clothes stained with dirt. Knowing that he was pulling weeds in the vegetable gardens, Yao Zhi asked, ”Have you washed your hands?”

Ling Shi’er nodded and showed his hands to her. He had even scrubbed his nails until they were clean before coming.

Looking at his long, slender fingers with prominent knuckles, which were clean, Yao Zhi nodded in satisfaction. She only focused on checking the cleanliness and didn’t notice that his hands were too beautiful for a soldier.

While they ate, Yao Zhi said, ”Shi’er, later follow me to the General’s Mansion. I need to visit Madam.”

”Understood,” Ling Shi’er nodded.

”Master, what about Xi Qi and me?” Xi Si asked.

”Both of you should stay at home. If something happens, just go next door and find Granny Wang. Just tell her that both of you are my distant relatives if she asks.”

Xi Si nodded and fed her brother.

After breakfast, Yao Zhi and Ling Shi’er took a bath and changed into a set of clean clothes.

Before leaving, she took out a glass jar, filled it with wound ointment, and added 5 drops of spiritual spring water.

Thinking about the female lead who would snatch Xue Ya’er’s husband, she opened the system’s shop and bought a tube of moisturizing cream for 30 points.

The jar contained 500 grams of moisturizing cream, and she needed to transfer it to a smaller container. She took out another glass jar and filled it with the cream. One jar could hold 150 ml.

Then, she took a jade bottle from her system’s storage and poured a pill out. This was the beauty rejuvenation pill. She followed the system’s instructions and used a small, thin blade to scrape the surface of the pill.

There was a very small amount on the tip of the blade, and she asked, ”System, will this amount be enough?”

”Host, if you put more than that, it would melt the user’s face. Since it is for outer use, this amount is more than enough.”

Hearing this, Yao Zhi nodded, added the silver-white powder into the moisturizing cream, and mixed it well. She didn’t dare to add spiritual spring water, fearing that it would backfire and melt Xue Ya’er’s face.

When she was done, she stored everything in her system’s storage and bought a small wooden box with exquisite carving for 1 point. She placed the glass jars into the box and wrapped it with floral fabric.

After she prepared the gift, she left the room and saw that Ling Shi’er had been waiting for her. They left the village and went to the abandoned temple.

As before, she put the donkey cart into the system’s grassland and took out the horse carriage. Inside the carriage, she put on her disguise.

While they were on their way to Zhu’an Town, the Zhou family’s seasoning shop was crowded with customers.

Everyone had already heard that the shop had restocked the soy sauce and fish sauce. Those who had already paid deposits were not worried about not being able to buy anything. But those who were stingy and did not pay deposits could only order their servants to line up before dawn.

This was not the first time for Zhou Boming and his family to see this kind of situation.
