Chapter 265: Sky-high Price Sauce ( 2 )

When she was in her room, Yao Zhi took out the portable power station and charged the blanket.

Then, she opened the system’s shop and bought 328 liters of soy sauce, which equaled 400.16 kilograms. Besides that, she also bought 205 liters of fish sauce, which equaled 250.1 kilograms.

This purchase cost her a total of 2,009 points.

She thought about what type of sauce could be sold at a high price, and a thought flashed in her mind. She bought the most popular chili sauce in Huaxia, the grandmother’s brand.

The chili sauce was packed in a glass jar, which did not fit her current era. So, she checked the options and saw that she could buy the sauce in bulk and pack it in an earthen jar. This option was provided by the system.

The cost for the earthen jar was covered by the glass jar, so she didn’t have to pay extra for the packaging.

Yao Zhi checked the price and decided to buy 200 kilograms of the chili sauce. Each kilogram cost her 20 points, and this purchase cost her a total of 4,000 points.

When she finished her purchase, she went to the area on the side of the kitchen. After making sure that no one was around, she took out the soy sauce, fish sauce, and chili sauce from her system’s storage.

The massive jars were placed neatly in rows. Using a straw mat she found in the woodshed, she covered the jars before she went to prepare dinner.

After a busy day, she was too lazy to cook. So, she took out 15 pieces of mantou and made a pot of hotpot with chicken broth. The vegetables, meat, and eggs were from her system’s warehouse, so they were very fresh.

Just after she put in the ingredients, Ling Shi’er entered the kitchen and helped her carry the food.

Since it was not good for a man to enter Yao Zhi’s room besides her husband, they decided to have their meal in Xi Si and Xi Qi’s room. It was also near the kitchen, making it convenient to clean up.

After dinner, they boiled some water to wash up before going to bed.

With Xi Qi around, Ye Ying and Bai Xue no longer insisted on sleeping with Yao Zhi. Without a Kang bed and her personal human stove, she could only use the electric blanket Ling Shi’er had used before to warm herself.

As the night deepened, they drifted into their sleep.

Early the next morning, Ling Shi’er woke up before dawn and practiced his martial arts skills while waiting for people sent by Zhou Boming.

At dawn, a group of people driving several donkey carts finally arrived. Seeing them, Ling Shi’er opened the gate and led them to the backyard.

This was not the first time for them to pick up goods, so they already knew where the goods were stored.

Ling Shi’er saw them walk to the side of the kitchen with familiarity and was taken aback when he saw so many large jars placed there. He always checked the house every day to ensure safety and was sure that he hadn’t seen these jars before.

While the workers loaded the jars into the carts, Yao Zhi came out of her room. She walked over to tell the leader about the new sauce.

Seeing her coming, the leader cupped his fists and greeted her, ”Greetings, Miss Yao.”

Yao Zhi returned his greeting and said, ”Chief Du, the jars with red cloth are the new sauce.”

”It’s a spicy chili crisp. It uses garlic, onion, chili, and oil. It’s savory and mildly spicy, but for people who never eat chili, the taste might be a little bit strong, and eating too much can cause stomach pain.”

Hearing this, Chief Du nodded and said, ”I will relay your words to the Master.”

Yao Zhi nodded and watched them leave before she went to the kitchen to do her morning routine.

While they prepared breakfast, she thought about how to change her people’s identities. With her current situation, she had money but lacked power and connections.

It’s easy to report the death of the slaves, but the problem was how to get new identities for them.

Without someone working in the government to help her, it would be impossible for her to issue new household registers for the Ling squad and Xi Yi’s family.

She spent a long time thinking of a solution before Xue Ya’er’s face flashed in her mind.

From all of the people she could ask for help, she was the most suitable one. What’s more, her people were registered under Lei Feng’s name, making it easier to ask for her help.

After she made up her mind, she tried to find something as a gift. She couldn’t ask for her help without bringing anything.

Thinking about Xue Ya’er in the plot shown by the system, she decided to give her a few drops of spiritual spring water. These might be able to save her life in times of danger.

At 7 o’clock, breakfast was ready. Just as she carried the tray out, she saw Xi Si hurry over. Her face was pale, and she looked panicked.

Thinking that something bad had happened to her or her brother, Yao Zhi asked, ”Xi Si, what’s wrong?”

The moment she stood in front of her Master, Xi Si knelt down with a loud thud, which startled Yao Zhi. She kowtowed to her and said, ”Master, please punish me.”

Seeing this, Yao Zhi quickly put down the tray on the nearby table and pulled her up. When she saw that the girl’s forehead was reddened, she said, ”Why did you suddenly do this?”

”Master, as your slave, I should be serving you. But I not only woke up late, I even made you cook for my brother and me. As a slave, this is my fault. Please punish me.”

When she heard this, Yao Zhi was stunned for a few seconds before she let out a sigh.
