Chapter 259: Master-servant Blood Contract ( 2 )

Being praised by his Master, a slight smile appeared on Ling Shi’er’s face. While he continued wiping the furniture, Yao Zhi checked the room.

She made a list of the items needed and said, ”Shi’er, I will go to town later to buy some things. Can you help me watch Xi Qi at home?”

”Okay,” Ling Shi’er nodded.

After checking the room, she added, ”You can burn the firewood in the stove and heat up this brick bed.”

For this room, Yao Zhi asked Yang Dalang and his brothers to use mud and bricks to build a simple kang bed. With the kang bed, they didn’t have to worry about feeling cold in the middle of the night.

They could also use the stove to boil water or cook a pot of porridge.

When she visited her husband, she noticed that he was jealous that she cared too much about Xi Qi. She didn’t want to make him uncomfortable and planned to let Xi Qi stay with Ling Shi’er after the room was ready.

This way, he could teach him some martial arts to strengthen his body and help him recognize some words.

This time, she went to town not only as an excuse for the items she bought from the system shop, but also to visit Ling Yi and the rest.

She thought for a long time and decided to bring Xi Si over. This girl was the biological sister of Xi Qi, and she was also more mature compared to the other girls.

At first, she planned to bring Xi Qi’s aunts over, but with her husband and Ling Shi’er around, it would be inconvenient for unmarried ladies to stay with them. So after a lot of consideration, she chose Xi Si.

When she reached the abandoned temple, Yao Zhi put Xiao Lu into the system’s grassland and took out her horse carriage. She also put on a disguise as Lei Feng before she continued her journey.

Along the road, she opened the system’s merit shop and browsed for a long time before she finally found something suitable to control her slaves.

This medicine was called the Clear Heart Pill. It costs 1,000 merit points for 1 bottle, with 1 bottle containing 100 pills.

Unlike the pills given as rewards by the system, this pill didn’t contain much spiritual Qi. These pills were made by a 3rd grade alchemist using rare spiritual herbs. They were Earth-grade pills and could be consumed by mortals.

The main function of these pills was to form a master-servant blood contract between a cultivator and spiritual beasts or other cultivators.

There were no side effects after taking these pills. Instead, they could strengthen the body and remove impurities from the meridians and bone marrow. After taking the pill, the servant would worship the master like a god and be completely loyal.

Yao Zhi thought for a long time before she finally made up her mind. She couldn’t hide her identity from her servants forever. Since she needed them to help her with small matters, she had to let them know about her real identity.

But she couldn’t take the risk of putting herself and her husband in danger. Therefore, she needed something to ensure their loyalty.

At first, she wanted to use the Gu poison sold for 50,000 points each.

But this Gu poison had too many side effects and couldn’t 100% guarantee the servants’ loyalty. It didn’t affect their minds, only torturing them when they disobeyed the master. Also, they had to drink a drop of the Master’s blood every month.

Even so, there was still the possibility of a servant choosing to betray her and endure the torture or die a gory death. If that happened, her secret would be exposed.

Now that she has found a better option, she would rather spend some merit points than take the risk. With a click, her merit points were deducted, and a jade bottle appeared inside her system’s storage.

When Yao Zhi arrived in Zhu’an Town, the entrance was almost empty. Besides several guards guarding the gate, there were only a few villagers leaving the town. They carried empty bamboo baskets and were full of smiles.

Seeing the familiar horse carriage, the guards’ eyes lit up. Yao Zhi had already prepared some things for them. It was not good to always give them ”tea money.” If it became a habit, that would be troublesome.

So, she had prepared 2 pieces of sweet sticky rice cake for them. This cake was made using glutinous flour, brown sugar, coconut milk, and jujube. It was chewy, sweet, rich, and fragrant.

Each piece was the size of a bowl and could be divided into 4 pieces. 2 cakes were enough for the guards to share. Since they were just taken out of her system’s storage, the cakes were still warm.

She stopped the carriage near the town gate and greeted the guards with a smile. ”Greetings, Sir.”

The guards returned her greeting, and one of them asked, ”Young Master, it has been a few days since you came to visit.”

Yao Zhi nodded and replied, ”There are some matters at home, so I could only come today to buy something.”

She handed the wrapped cakes and the entrance fee to the guard while saying, ”Sir, this was made by my old mother at home. It’s just an ordinary snack. Please have a try.”

The guard didn’t refuse and accepted it readily. They smiled and thanked her. After a brief conversation, Yao Zhi entered the town and went to her storefront.

The back gate was not locked, and she led the carriage inside.

Hearing the sound, Ling San arrived soon after. Seeing that it was his Master, he bowed and said, ”Greetings, Master.”

Yao Zhi handed the reins to him and said, ”I have something to announce. Call everyone to the store.”

”Yes, Master.”

Five minutes later, all of the Ling Squad members and Xi Team members arrived. They stood in front of Yao Zhi in neat lines while she sat on a wooden chair.

Using her sleeve as a cover, she took out the Clear Heart Pill from her system’s storage.
