Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 1091: Chapter 1079: Fame-Seeking Heroes, The End of the Marshal’s Battle

”What’s wrong, Sister? Is there any trouble?”

”No, just thinking about some things from the past...”

Freyvans, though called a country, is just a small nation. Rather than a country, it was once a prosperous town. Back then, as a nun in the monastery, Misu taught almost all the school-age children there.

She had a deep impression of Law; he appeared somewhat fierce at times, but he cared a lot for his sister, and his dream was to become an outstanding doctor like his parents.

”You are getting further down the pirate path... But then, in this world, how many people can constantly hold on to their ideals...”

Initially, Misu didn’t pay much attention to the external newspapers, so she had not noticed any news about Law. But when Rami once mentioned the ”stranger” appearing in Shampodi, Misu started searching through past information and learned some details.

Trafalgar is an uncommon surname, and even without a hidden name, Law’s given name and appearance were distinct enough.

In her memory, Law had been more mature than others. If they had met in Shampodi but did not recognize each other, either Law had amnesia, or there was some other special reason.

”Lord Tiger, perhaps we need to temporarily alter our course.”

”I don’t mind at all. Is there a special situation?”

”An old acquaintance. It should be considered good news. By the way, Lord Tiger, you have no issue dealing with the Seven Warlords of the Sea, correct?”

”Uh... If they are about the same strength as Jinbe, there should be no problem. On the sea, even if I can’t defeat them, I am confident in retreating. Currently, there shouldn’t be anyone in the Seven Warlords of the Sea who has a conflict with us, right?”

”No, I was just asking casually. Besides, we hadn’t planned to fight this time, just taking precautions.”

...

”Through the Navy’s courageous efforts, all hostages on Hive Island have been rescued, and the Navy is committed to safeguarding the security on The Sea....

Drunkard Gust has died, Blood Claw....

Hero Coby has been promoted to Colonel...

What is this? It doesn’t match at all with what Jack said.”

Besides the news of Law becoming one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, what’s followed by detailed reports about Hive Island, Jack’s appearance is glossed over, merely described as internal strife among pirates.

As one of the parties involved, those belonging to the Hundred Beasts are well aware of the truth of the matter, and thus, they disdain the content in the newspapers.

”And who is this hero, Coby? Dad, have you heard of this Navy member?”

”No, probably just some insignificant character. You’ll understand these things later. What you see or hear isn’t always the truth of the matter.

Even the daily reports within Wano Kuni contain false components. When you see something unusual outside, you should neither believe entirely nor disbelieve entirely but make your own judgment.

Just treat the outside newspaper as amusement, and it’s better to look at the announcements inside Rotom in detail.”

As Doflamingo predicted, the reports from the Navy and World Government were largely for creating influence.

There is more than one Sword member, but Coby was the most suitable choice.

They are indicating to the outside world that the Navy not only has high-ranking Admirals but also grassroots officers who fight for the people, asserting the Navy’s new generation hasn’t ceased.

Unlike the endless stream of Super Rookies among the pirates, the Navy’s overall power is strong, and the trio of Sakazuki has encouraged the Navy for some time. But afterward, there hasn’t been any particularly outstanding newcomer, while the pirates’ commotion grows louder.

They urgently need to establish a new exemplar.

The hero’s disciple continues to be a hero; the Navy still has a future. That’s what they intend to express, and whether the person in question is Coby or Bic doesn’t really matter.

Coby merely appeared at the right time and place and has an even more suitable identity, allowing them to shape a character.

Furthermore, the Navy itself paid very short-term attention to this new hero. Rather than this, they have more troubling issues.

The ideological dispute between Kuzan and Sakazuki couldn’t be resolved. Amid disagreements among the elite of the World Government and Navy over the new Marshal candidate, neither of the involved parties wanted to back down, ultimately triggering a struggle for the Marshal position.

Most Navy personnel simply reflected on their impressions of Coby.

This Navy person seems quite impressive, but he was someone they hadn’t heard of before.

No surprise, it’s Vice Admiral Garp, his disciple also has such great aspirations.

Navy personnel unfamiliar with Coby would mostly only marvel at this one or two remarks.

Unlike Aokiji and Akainu with their established names, these two Admirals have long been deeply entrenched in people’s hearts, and their duel would even influence the Navy’s future strategic development.

Kuzan and Sakazuki fought fiercely at Punk Hazard for ten days and nights. Ultimately, Kuzan was defeated, suffering severe burns on his right side and losing his left leg.

Sakazuki, considering their camaraderie, did not go for a killing blow against Kuzan, but Kuzan, disagreeing with Sakazuki’s ideals, chose to leave the Navy.

With this, Sengoku stepped down, and Sakazuki became the new Marshal, leaving only Kizaru of the original Three Great Admirals, making the Navy’s high-level forces scarce.

”Sakazuki, here are the files left from before, here are the development issues, here are the personnel changes, and these are for you to handle. Also, there are covert intelligence files, remember to destroy them after reading.”

In the Marshal’s office, Sengoku’s originally black hair has turned white, and his face has grown aged, but his expression is exceedingly relaxed.

Only by becoming the Marshal can one understand how headache-inducing this position is. He believes Sakazuki will quickly experience the hard work that comes with it.

”Alright, the handover is complete. This office is now yours. I am just an ordinary inspector.”

Sengoku left the room, leading his little goat. With the Mag-Mag Fruit in hand, Akainu didn’t need this paper shredder, using his ability to burn documents instead.

Having received the Marshal position, Akainu quickly issued his first order, swapping the positions of the Navy Headquarters and G-1 Branch. The formerly devastated Navy Headquarters was demoted to a regular G branch, with the old G-1 Branch becoming the new Navy Headquarters. From now on, the Navy will pay more attention to the situation in the New World.

The funding for the Science Corps continues to increase, while the Flying Dragon Team undergoes reorganization but mainly shifts to reconnaissance forces, aiming to be distributed to various branches.

With the new official’s inauguration, Akainu’s blaze burns particularly fiercely, but due to the scarcity of top-level forces, neither he nor Kizaru can easily leave the Navy Headquarters, so activities conducted are relatively limited.

To better maintain balance over The Sea, addressing the lack of top-level force in the Navy and losses in grassroots troops, the World Government also plans new initiatives, starting a worldwide recruitment encompassing all affiliated countries and those wanting to join the World Government.
