Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 1105: Chapter 1090: The Seven Warlords Are Targeting Me, and I’m Targeting the Seven Warlords

When the Heavenly Celestial Dragons are attacked, the Admirals will dispatch for retribution; it’s common knowledge on the Sea.

There are countless people who hate the Heavenly Celestial Dragons, but most fear their power and dare not resist; the deterrence of the Admirals is a major factor.

More than a year ago, when Luffy assaulted the Heavenly Celestial Dragons, Kizaru immediately took action, but now, the Navy has not done the same; one reason is the replacement of the Admirals.

Akainu’s promotion to Marshal, Kuzan’s resignation and temporary joining of the Hundred Beasts, resulted in Kizaru being the sole remaining Admiral of the original Three Great Admirals, though the Navy supplemented the Admiral vacancies with Fujitora and Ryokugyu through a global recruitment.

But compared to the period when Sengoku served as Marshal, the overall strength of the Navy has declined.

As Admirals, guarding Mary Geoise is also their responsibility, originally rotated by the Three Great Admirals, but the newly joined Ryokugyu and Fujitora are not yet trustworthy enough, so guarding Mary Geoise has been entrusted to Kizaru.

Without Kizaru’s mobility, relying on Fujitora’s anti-gravity flight and Ryokugyu’s ”plant bamboo dragonfly,” by the time they reach the location, Wald would have disappeared long ago.

He’s not a rookie waiting in Shampodi Islands to head for the New World; he was already reputed as a World Breaker thirty years ago. His personality forces the World Government to be cautious; no one knows what this madman might do.

Moreover, Fujitora’s nature does not like the Heavenly Celestial Dragons, and sending him to do this would likely result in minimal effort.

Ryokugyu, on the other hand, supports the Heavenly Celestial Dragons and the World Government, but lacks the high-speed mobility like Kizaru, nor does he have the trust that comes with being an established Admiral.

”According to unreliable sources, Wald seems to want to retaliate against the World Government, but the specifics are unclear. That’s the latest news; if you have no other matters, I’ll proceed to arrange today’s itinerary for Governor Kaido.”

”Go ahead.”

”Yes.”

Bao Huang backed out of the office and began a new round of task reporting, while the matter of Wald was put out of mind; 30 years ago, he was defeated by Kaido, and to this day, he would be no match for Kaido.

...

In the First Half of the Grand Line, on a newly built ship of the Wald Pirates, the members of the Wald Pirates were gathered together, but they all felt uneasy about Wald’s recent actions.

”Bingjack, isn’t Captain Wald... too irritable?”

During the previous attack on the Heavenly Celestial Dragons, he was dissatisfied with the slow actions of his dispatched men, and simply unleashed an indiscriminate attack.

Disobedience to orders, failing to complete commands within the stipulated time, failing to fight for him, and failing to die for him are all valueless in his eyes. Compared to Wald thirty years ago, Wald has become even more ruthless now.

”There’s no choice; after his time being attacked by undercover CP agents, he simply doesn’t trust these people, even if they were recruited by me over the past thirty years... cough cough...”

Bingjack coughed while speaking; though they are brothers, he doesn’t have the physique like Wald, suffering from old ailments after thirty years of stormy days, slowly recuperating with several prescriptions from Nightin.

”Still, anyway, Wald has ’resurrected,’ so now we can...”

Boom! Boom!

Before Bingjack finished speaking, the ship’s giant cannon blasted off a cannonball into the distance. Amplified a hundredfold by Wald’s Double-Double Fruit, with just one shot, the giant cannon flattened the surface objects of the target island.

”Wa-lololol!! Guyram, Nightin, Sebastian, Bingjack, you’ve all worked hard these years.

This is the ship we wanted to build thirty years ago, now finally realized; this giant cannon paired with my powers will obliterate the World Government and Mary Geoise in an instant!

Ready up, let’s kick off the grand task! Wa-lololol!”

Though defeated by Kaido back then, Wald harbors more resentment toward the World Government scheming that backstabbed him. Compared to an outright strong enemy, those who play tricks are more infuriating.

Frozen for thirty years, Wald’s mind remains stuck before prison, and his inner grudges haven’t eased with time.

But as he swelled with pride, Bingjack doused his mood with a cold reality.

”Cough cough, Wald, things might not go as smoothly, cough cough...”

”Hmm?”

”Because of your previous attack on the Heavenly Celestial Dragons, the World Government has already confirmed your whereabouts.”

”Hmph, that’s exactly why I did it; there’s nothing to fear.”

”But apparently, they have already summoned the Seven Warlords of the Sea to deal with us.”

”Seven Warlords? Are you sure, Bingjack...”

Hearing Bingjack’s words, Nightin sensed something ominous. The Hundred Beasts have skirmished with the Seven Warlords over the years, and Nightin is well aware of their power; each is a formidable monster, and gathering them together...

”I’m sure, my intelligence is not mistaken.”

”Seven Warlords? What’s that?”

Wald’s incarceration happened too long ago, back when even Crocodile was not a Seven Warlords of the Sea. The term is foreign to Wald.

”Oh right, you wouldn’t know... The so-called Seven Warlords of the Sea are pirates recognized by the World Government with plundering privileges; as a tradeoff, they must act as their lackeys, heeding the government’s order.

Though lackeys, their strength is considerable... they accepted the summons this morning...”

”This morning? Then that’s just right, let’s capitalize on it, Bingjack. Who’s the nearest lackey from here?”

”Let’s see... Doflamingo of Dressrosa, Jinbe of New Fishman Island, Boa Hancock of Nine Serpent Island, their distances are about the same... cough cough, Wald, what are you planning?”

As his elder brother, Bingjack once thought he understood Wald well, but now Wald seems like a different person, even to him.

”What planning? Since those lackeys want to help the World Government against us, let’s preempt them and deal with these so-called Seven Warlords first.

Both Doflamingo and Jinbe’s locations are in the New World; let’s start with the so-called Pirate Empress then! Set sail!”

At this moment, Wald had become resolute and unruly; once he’s decided on something, he’s closed off to any input, leaving Bingjack and the others no choice but to change course toward Nine Serpent Island.

Meanwhile, the Seven Warlords who accepted the World Government’s summons were already on their way, but he felt a bit of regret.

”Roronoa, my biggest mistake was trusting your sense of direction!”
