Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 1140: Chapter 1125: Poison Heal Breloom and Shiny Female Machamp

Nightin’s Chinese Herbal Fist relies on herbs; her physique isn’t outstanding, but she can achieve many impossible feats through the stimulation of medicine, including the unbelievable act of rejuvenation in a short time.

However, such things have limitations; every medicine is three parts poison. Herbs are poison by nature, even body-strengthening drugs can become deadly if their quantity reaches a certain point.

Nightin neutralized the toxicity in the medicine through different combinations, but even so, her body has a tolerance limit. Exceeding a safe dosage won’t make Nightin rampage like Chopper, but it will still lead to severe consequences.

The Poison Heal trait is different; the toxicity from herbs is not like the exception of metal poisoning. Poison Heal can perfectly neutralize the toxicity of herbs.

The effect of Poison Heal is to turn the damage caused by poisoning into stamina and health recovery, transforming a debuff into a buff.

In the Pokemon world, trainers with a Breloom sometimes let Breloom carry a Toxic Orb during battles. Breloom is one of the few Pokemon with the Poison Heal trait, producing a very peculiar chemical reaction with a Toxic Orb.

The effect of a Toxic Orb is simple; it poisons the bearer. It is called an orb, but it essentially is a crystal or stone from Poison-type Pokemon.

The most common producers of Toxic Orbs are the Grimer family. Due to toxin accumulation in their bodies, they leave behind this peculiar orb.

When Breloom uses a Toxic Orb to enter a toxic state and trigger the healing effect of Poison Heal, it achieves energy self-circulation in an alternative way.

She doesn’t need such things as the Toxic Orb; with Poison Heal as a safety net, Nightin can fight without considering side effects from medicine, even integrate more toxic medications into her combats, marking an epic enhancement.

”It’s been a long time since I’ve felt such vitality.”

Breloom-transformed Nightin felt power surging through her limbs—special vitality brought to the host by the Zoan type. She was ultimately already 80 years old, well-maintained but undeniably elderly.

While Asie and Olga had already surpassed 200 years old, they are special humans influenced by pure gold; over a hundred years had been stagnant as time left no traces on them.

In daily life, it was fine; currently in battles, Nightin heavily relies on the secret medicine ”Korean Newcomer” for temporarily restoring youthful vigor, entering a state of full combat activity.

”Lord Arceus, thank you for your gift.”

Her vibrant movements made even the gesture of kneeling on one knee flow more smoothly; Nightin didn’t feel any protest from her lumbar, which was excellent news for her.

”Do whatever needs to be done; your old room is still there. If there’s nothing else, don’t bother me.”

Ghost Island has many rooms, not lacking one or two of them. Under Olga and Asie’s suggestion, this room was naturally preserved.

After the formalities were over, the three left Arceus’s room and proceeded to the gym on Ghost Island. Nightin intended to familiarize herself more with her new abilities.

Here, Olga was naturally the best sparring partner, but Olga’s current level was somewhat beyond Nightin’s frame.

Olga’s close combat capabilities aren’t strong—this ”not strong” is using Jack and King as reference—her body techniques are still hard to surpass for others, given she was initially trained by Kaidou.

Anyone raised by Kaidou, unless they are utterly incompetent or their physique already developed, will secure a position in The Sea as long as they don’t die—not strong may not be weak either.

Rather than practicing with Olga, Nightin still chooses to find a stationary target, such as a strength-testing apparatus for experiments.

...

Not long after, the three arrived at the gym on Ghost Island. Though called a gym, it is also a training arena. Besides ordinary exercise equipment, combat among companions is common.

In line with Hundred Beasts’ tradition, except for non-lethal fights, they fight fiercely due to this atmosphere—a diagnosis table from the Pokemon Center’s doctor is directly set here, mainly dealing with sprains and bruises.

The battles here are mostly limited to body techniques, and the injury types are generally confined to a certain range.

”Nightin, are you back too? Asie hasn’t stopped talking about you lately.”

”Cough, cough, don’t talk nonsense; that’s slander.”

The pirate obsessed with weightlifting hadn’t noticed them, but the sitting doctor nearby noticed the two.

Though Nightin hadn’t officially joined before, her herbal medicine and bone-setting techniques impressed these doctors from various places.

Nightin’s methods differed from these doctors with formal training from various countries; though her prescriptions and techniques were rough, their effectiveness was excellent.

Especially her bone-setting techniques—they were derived from the fist styles developed for combat.

In order to better dislocate an enemy’s joints, Nightin was quite knowledgeable about the human structure.

Though Asie was a research enthusiast, his own daughter was one of the disasters, so his reputation naturally wasn’t small.

As for why the doctor ignored Olga herself, it was because she had slipped away on a whim after they landed, leaving ample space for the two of them.

”Yeah, you’re back, you can’t escape this time.”

”Then Old Brother Asie would be happy about that. By the way, could you help me take a look? I’m a bit unsure about the position of his arm.”

Asie’s interruption didn’t stop him; his tone and expression had already indicated that Asie wasn’t truly displeased with such talk. The doctor made a few jokes, and then entrusted Nightin to deal with the patient before them.

”This sprain... what did you do?”

”This...”

”It’s his first time on Ghost Island. His confidence was a bit inflated, feeling unwilling to accept the strength of those Machamps, insisting on measuring up to them, and ended up taking a Hell Roll head-on. Lucky for him, if it weren’t for that Machamp’s good nature, it would have snapped his neck.”

At this point, the doctor smacked him lightly on the shoulder, causing him to wince in pain, but he dared not retort.

For pirates, doctors are a very important profession. Typically, no one would choose to offend a doctor. If they were injured during a mission, in most cases, they’d rely on doctors for treatment.

Then the doctor briefly summarized what the pirate had done, which called for an understanding of the current promotion system within the Hundred Beasts.

To transform from a regular pirate to a Divine Favorer, the first thing to do was pass the review and become one who could be stationed in Wano Kuni, which meant joining the main team of the Hundred Beasts.

If one’s strength or accumulated achievements weren’t up to it, they could only remain on the outer islands, where in most cases they’d receive an Artificial Devil Fruit.

Entering Wano Kuni meant that the pirate had already surpassed most of the regular members, becoming part of the elite. Usually, pirates newly arriving on Ghost Island are proud, and pride often leads to mistakes.

In the training ground, without heed to his comrades’ advice, he chose to duel with a nearby Machamp.

Under normal circumstances, this wouldn’t be an issue. Machamps who love to fight wouldn’t refuse such a challenge.

Upon successfully arriving at Ghost Island, wanting to show off more, he chose a Machamp that looked very strong. Beside this Machamp lay many defeated Machamps, suggesting it was the ace among the Machamp group.

However, he didn’t notice that there was a pale green Machamp observing from the side.

Pale green being the alternative coloration among Machamps, commonly known as Shiny Pokemon. Most crucially, this Machamp was female, commonly referred to as Shiny Female Machamp.

In the eyes of Machamps, the alternate-colored one is like an exotic princess, many young Machamps, including Machokes and Machops, all vied for the favor of this female Machamp.

Among Machamps, the most trustworthy is the one with the most developed muscles, greatest strength, and strongest combat ability, and would gain precedence in choosing a mate.

The simplest way to prove this was through a fight.

Those Machamps were the young ones who persevered through layer after layer of contests, reaching the final crucial stage for courting, only a step away from winning the beautiful Machamp.

To challenge at this moment appeared to the Machamp as more than a mere challenge, and combined with the pirate’s slightly provocative tone, it saw him as an enemy attempting to ”steal a wife.”

The genes passed down by their lineage compel them to accept the enemy’s challenge in a courting context — refusal equals losing and giving up, so the Machamp decided to go all out, using its signature move - Hell Roll.

Machamps possess a signature technique where they use four arms to seize the opponent and twist them into a complex shape. This move is difficult to escape from, known as the Machamp Fixed Style.

Following this, they would roll the enemy along the ground, where both parties sustain damage. However, the Machamp, as the user, suffers far less.

Fighting against Machamps isn’t necessarily unwise. Bruno, the Fighting-type Elite, trains raw with his Machamp, similar to his amazing feat of subduing a Giant Onix barehanded, thus integrating such acts into his life.

But even Bruno, who is well-versed in many fighting skills and a human-like Pokemon, must be cautious when facing Machamps. This pirate’s arrogance collided with a courting Machamp, resulting in severe dislocation of both arms.

However, no one mocked him; such incidents frequently occur within the rookie circles on Ghost Island.

This includes, but isn’t limited to, being electrocuted by an Ampharos, kissed by an Alola Muk, audaciously taking a hammer blow from a Tinkaton, playing knife games with a Bisharp, and foolishly touching the burning coal heap on Carkol’s back.

As of today, the unluckiest pirate got an ”affectionate hug” by the Bear with Perona, and compared to that fellow, the one wrestling with a Machamp only takes the second spot.
