Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 1103: Chapter 1088: What Does Moody Mean?

”Can’t you do it yourself?”

”No, no, I know my own situation. I’m good at fighting, but teaching the Moon Lion... I’m afraid I’ll mess it up, what about you?”

”I think I’ll pass, I’m probably worse than you...”

Everything else is fine, but when it comes to teaching the Moon Lion, neither Setsuna nor Zeraora have much confidence. Zeraora doesn’t know how to use the Moon Lion, and as for Setsuna...

She can use it, but she’s not good at teaching. Knowing something yourself and teaching others are two different concepts.

The Moon Lion is essentially a frenzy skill. Although the Soothe Bell can prevent the uncontrollable effects of frenzy, the Moon Lion is not something you get used to just by doing it repeatedly. Mastery is the key.

”How about... Uncle Hichugiskhan?”

Having spent so much time with Setsuna, Zeraora immediately thought of Hichugiskhan, this tool-like sheep. Recently, Hichugiskhan has completely retired, handing over Zou’s governmental issues to the younger generation, helping out with paperwork at most a couple of days a month.

Other than that, he spends most of his time relaxing in Wano Kuni or the Whale Forest.

”Forget it, he’s just started enjoying his leisure, and previously when Zou was helping others learn the Moon Lion, it wasn’t Duke Hichugiskhan.”

Due to the unique national system, the King of Zou has certain requirements regarding strength.

Being proficient in using the Moon Lion is the basic condition, but previous Kings, due to their responsibilities, didn’t have much time to educate the young, so this task was often done by the leader of the Firearms Team.

”Hmm... Let’s leave it to Pedro. He’s been teaching Zou’s young people these years. Let Carrot and Bepo learn together and see if they have the talent.”

The Moon Lion is a racial skill of the Fur Race, but it’s not a compulsory skill. Some who aren’t good at fighting don’t spend too much energy on this technique, and some can’t handle the emotion of anger well so they also don’t use the Moon Lion.

The frenzy boost comes at a cost; uncontrolled frenzy will only lead to exhaustion and death.

”If you think he can handle it, let him do it. But is he in Zou or at the Monastery now?”

”He’s in Zou, I’ll bring him back after work tomorrow.”

After his eyes were healed, Pedro completed the conversion to a believer, and his living area was no longer confined to Zou. Sometimes he still chose to go out exploring but was much steadier compared to previous years.

...

Before the Moon Lion teaching begins, another master of Ghost Island had already returned. Before dark, Kaidou landed on the roof of Ghost Island riding the Eight-Headed Dragon.

”Ohohoho, isn’t this Aokiji? A truly unexpected person.”

The Eight-Headed Dragon flew back to its residence on the Sky Island while Kaidou came to Kuzan, who was watching the sunset on the rooftop.

”I’ve received the news, Yamato has recruited you, that was surprising to me.”

”Ahh, I wasn’t expecting it either. At your daughter’s invitation, I’m now considered one of you. So, do I need to call you Governor?”

”Not necessary. I’ve never cared much about titles, those with strength always have some privileges, but your purpose... are you here to kill me for revenge for your instructor?”

Kaidou talked about something Yamato hadn’t mentioned, directly addressing Zephyr’s death with Kaidou’s involvement during the Summit War.

As the former Navy Chief Instructor, Zephyr was someone esteemed with countless protégés around the world. Kuzan was one of the disciples who had a friendly relationship with Zephyr.

”That... was the teacher’s own choice...”

Kaidou’s words made Kuzan stiffen, but he responded with this line.

War brings death, a fact even Luffy understands. Before the Summit War, Kuzan knew this battlefield would inevitably cause many to leave this world.

Zephyr could have stayed out of this war; at that time, he wasn’t within the Navy’s combat calculations, but he chose to participate and completed his curtain call in the war.

”That guy was a pretty good opponent, not quite up to Newgate’s level but still a notable strongman.”

”I don’t care what you want to do, you can try killing me if you think you have the ability. But, if you dare ruin this island, you will learn what cost really means!”

Buzz!

Supreme King Haki was released from Kaidou’s body, all pressure focused on Kuzan.

Kuzan’s coat tightened under the impact of Supreme King Haki, his face already covered with frost, ready for battle. But after the clash of Supreme King Haki, what was thrown over was just a wine gourd.

”Ohohoho, don’t be so tense, just saying hello, but you’d better remember my words.”

On his first day on Ghost Island, Kuzan had already experienced Kaidou’s mood swings.

Kaidou’s behavior bewildered Kuzan, it seemed to him that damaging Ghost Island was more serious than assassinating Kaidou.

”What are you really planning?”

”I just said, just saying hello. As for what to do... Everyone! It’s time for a banquet! Let’s welcome the newcomer!”

Kaidou’s voice spread across Ghost Island from the rooftop under his command, and the whole island started moving.

Many high-level officials weren’t on Ghost Island, making this banquet much colder compared to the celebration after the Summit War, but Kuzan still found it somewhat uncomfortable.

Though the relationship in the Navy is quite peculiar, a Vice Admiral’s death might be less important than the new flavor of rice cakes, but Kaidou’s jumpy thought process made Kuzan unable to keep up.

[These two... are clearly father and daughter...]

Recalling Yamato’s previous behavior, everything seemed to make sense again.

Before long, the Ghost Island banquet hall featured a drunken Kaidou and a bewildered Kuzan. As someone who recently changed careers, he wasn’t fond of the pirate way yet, and joining him in confusion was Yamato.

”Wait a minute, why would father throw a banquet for Kuzan? Shouldn’t he be excited to fight seeing a former Admiral? Uncle Queen, don’t you want to say something?”

”Wait, even stranger, why aren’t you hosting the banquet, Uncle Queen?”

”My recent fortune sign is bad, with Kaidou brother, Kuzan, plus you missy, I’d probably lose half my life if I hosted, and....”

Halfway through his sentence, Queen looked around and indeed found Setsuna’s figure.

”Have you seen Setsuna? Maybe she’d shoot me with a stray arrow and embarrass me publicly.”

”Shouldn’t be, but if so, it’s your own fault, Uncle Queen, for mixing candy and experimental drugs together.”
