Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 1113: Chapter 1098: Refreshed Battle Record

”It’s all over.”

”Yes, it’s all over....”

Aboard the Perfume Snake of the Nine Snakes, Hancock and Olga, who managed to evacuate in time, watched as the Gulasadi gradually sank into a sea of flames, with Wald’s flag burning to ashes amid the fire, marking the end of Wald’s life as well.

”He wasn’t like this before... Decades ago, Wald still loved his companions. That time when Bingjack was captured, we braved a rainy night and chased for an entire day to rescue him.”

Gazing at the sinking Gulasadi, Nightin appeared deeply moved.

It was her youthful era. Even though she could maintain her appearance through special means, the traces left by time on one’s heart could never be erased.

The experiences wouldn’t be forgotten either—that was her once-precious memory.

”Although it’s not quite appropriate to say this, Aunt Nightin, Wald hasn’t been the same since he left prison, or rather, since he was backstabbed by the people of the World Government.

With his capability, he should have been able to escape if he wanted, but he made the worst choice.”

Olga saw it clearly. Not long after they left, Wald, having regained consciousness, didn’t choose to flee but instead launched an attack towards the warship where Akainu was stationed.

At that time, Wald didn’t even want to take Bingjack with him, hoping he would leave on a lifeboat instead. However, after Wald’s surprise attack, Bingjack chose to steer the burning Gulasadi to collide with the warship where Akainu was.

As for Sebastian and Gailam, who went to attack Buggy previously, although Buggy wasn’t their match, Buggy’s Chop-Chop Fruit restrained Gailam’s Cube Fruit to a certain extent.

Adding to that, with the group of subordinates and Buggy’s extraordinary luck, although they were beaten to a breakdown, they managed to hold on until the Navy arrived.

Previously, Buggy had thought Akainu would support him, but Akainu directly targeted him as well. Now, his subordinates were fleeing in the water, loyally carrying Buggy by his feet so he could fly over the sea.

Of course, Buggy wasn’t capable of dealing with Gailam and Sebastian either. His custom Buggy Bomb’s power remained a mystery; according to Buggy’s description, it was supposed to be a bomb capable of destroying the heavens and earth, but in reality, it was more like a novelty item.

In substantial battles, it had never been effective, and when Akainu unleashed indiscriminate fire coverage, Sebastian took Gailam with him, escaping underwater to the distance.

Like Nightin, when they reached a safe location, all they saw was the devastated Gulasadi.

”Alright, I’m headed back too. I’ve been out playing long enough this time. Hancock, see you next time.”

”Olga sis, it seems Akainu won’t leave immediately. According to our agreement with the World Government, the Navy isn’t allowed to set foot in Nine Snakes. Why not wait until he leaves?”

It was getting late, and if they waited a bit longer, it would be night. Then they could use the darkness as a reason to keep Olga an extra day, but Olga didn’t mind this matter.

Olga had extensive experience leaving undetected under Akainu’s watchful eyes.

”It’s fine. At this distance, he won’t notice me. Besides, it’s not like I’m leaving for good. See you next time.”

Ultimately, Olga left the Nine Snakes with Nightin, and under the cover of an illusion, the Shadow Fox slipped through the Navy’s encirclement as if no one was there.

...

Sometime later, on another island within the Windless Zone, the Shadow Fox temporarily docked here.

Olga frequently visited around the Nine Snakes and was familiar with the surrounding terrain. This was the only island near the Nine Snakes, with not only a water source but also its own ecological environment.

Based on the actions of the seabirds at sea, it was easy to determine that there was an island here, as seabirds also needed a fixed habitat.

According to Olga’s estimate, if Sebastian and the others had successfully escaped, they would surely be resting here. The Nautical Chart of the Gulasadi also marked this island, and Olga came here intending to try her luck.

After all, they were also Nightin’s old teammates. Nightin must have more to say to them.

It proved that Olga didn’t bet wrong. Here, she indeed encountered Sebastian and Gailam, who had surfaced from underwater combat. After Nightin recounted the final situation, the two fell silent.

They could feel Wald’s change too, especially Sebastian, being blind was more sensitive to other aspects.

Wald seemed unchanged, but his tone of speech had been vastly different from before.

”Do you have any plans? Now the Wald Pirates... can be considered completely disbanded. Do you have any plans? Want to come with me?”

Nightin invited her former partners.

Gailam was a shipwright himself, and Sebastian, being a hybrid of a Fishman and a Giant, had his own uniqueness, with a relatively decent combat strength. If they were interested, Nightin wouldn’t mind introducing them.

”I’ll pass...”

”Me too. Wald’s choice was poor, but I enjoyed sailing with him. I don’t plan to embark on new voyages.

Sebastian and I have already talked, and we’ve decided to find a place to retire together. We originally wanted to ask you, but now it seems unnecessary.

Let’s meet again if fate allows.”

Scratching his now-bald head, Gailam gave his answer, and Nightin and Olga didn’t pressure them. After Nightin treated their wounds, she sent them off from the place.

However, after their departure, the island welcomed a new group of guests—Buggy.

Their ship had been destroyed under Akainu’s indiscriminate attack. Akainu didn’t even give them a chance to approach the warship. Initially, Buggy’s group tried to land on Nine Snakes but almost got shot to pieces.

They ended up here as well.

”Big Sis Olga! Another of the Seven Warlords of the Sea is coming, how should we handle him?”

”Seven Warlords of the Sea? Isn’t that the red-nosed one, an old acquaintance? Get ready to return to Ghost Island; I’ll have some fun with him.”

Under Olga’s command, the pirates on the ship began preparing for the return journey, while Buggy and his group found themselves in a new predicament.

”Captain Buggy! It’s damned, no matter how we walk, we can’t get off this beach!”

”Yes, clearly right in front of us, but we just can’t reach it!”

Compared to their subordinates, Buggy was also panicked, but he couldn’t show it. Moreover, deep down, he recalled past experiences.

He had encountered this before, and not just once, but twice!
