Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 1107: Chapter 1092: A Premature Demise of an Unfulfilled Plan

”Nightin? What are you talking about? Why change the target?”

In the command room, Nightin raised his objections again, which made Wald quite unhappy. However, since Nightin was one of his few remaining officers, Wald was still willing to listen to his reasons.

But it was just to hear the reasons. No matter how compelling they might be, his decision would not change.

”Boa Hancock is different. Although she’s one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, her connections with the Hundred Beasts Pirates are close. Attacking her is not only slapping the World Government in the face but also provoking the Hundred Beasts.

After the Summit War, his title as the strongest is almost unshakeable. It’s not worth it, Captain Wald. Besides, back in the day, you...”

”Enough! That was just my carelessness back then!”

Seeing Nightin wanting to bring up the battle from before, Wald interrupted him directly.

Wald’s prison life was unlike other prisoners’. Others were bound by Seastone Chains, wasting away their lives in endless darkness.

A few extraordinary individuals continue to hone themselves in prison, like Bullet, who kept training even while captured. Even in Infinite Hell, he remained a top-tier powerhouse.

But Wald was frozen from the day he entered prison. He never felt the experience of being imprisoned. To him, those thirty years were merely a nap.

Wald’s understanding of the world still remained as it was thirty years ago. In his mind, he was still that feared World Breaker.

”But...”

”Nightin, that’s enough... cough cough, just leave for now... cough cough.”

Seeing Wald about to lose his temper, Bingjack hurriedly stopped Nightin from further persuasion. Being Wald’s own brother, Wald could tolerate a few more words from him, but not necessarily from others.

...

”Wald, Nightin means well. Frankly, I’m not too fond of this plan either. Maybe we should...”

”Don’t say it. The plan won’t change.”

”Wald...”

”I’ve heard that Nightin spent those years with the Hundred Beasts Pirates? Seems she’s no longer the ship doctor from before.”

”No, cough cough... Everyone has had a hard time these years. It’s just a way of living, and the crucial components for this ship have all been funded by Nightin. Without her, this ship might not have been completed today.”

Bingjack explained on Nightin’s behalf, but Wald’s impatient expression showed he wasn’t listening and instead spoke about other matters.

”That woman is just a stepping stone. My goal is to use this woman who accepted the World Government’s summons as a shield. Once we reach Marinfanto successfully, we’ll fire that massive cannon at Mary Geoise.

Imagine it: Mary Geoise blown apart, the Navy spitting out foam—what a beautiful sight that would be! Wa ha ha ha!”

”Cough cough... Wald! Wasn’t that cannon and this ship originally a symbol of our freedom?!”

”That’s why we need to use them to strike the World Government! They’re our biggest enemy in gaining freedom! All you need to do is obediently follow orders. My orders are absolute, even if you’re my big brother!

Forge ahead and end the battle before they realize what’s happening.”

Bingjack’s attempt to dissuade ultimately failed. When he appeared before Nightin again, he could only shake his head helplessly.

”Cough cough... I’m sorry, Wald isn’t able to listen to anyone’s advice right now.”

”Bingjack, I’m not worried about anything else, but Captain Wald like this... it’s dangerous for him!”

”Sigh...”

Bingjack recalled decades ago when they set out with a longing for freedom, but today, he could no longer see that original intent.

”There’s nothing we can do unless we are defeated. Wald won’t rest otherwise. Nightin, you’re not a combatant. If it’s too difficult, don’t get involved. I’ll speak to Wald.”

Leaving those words, Bingjack began to refine Wald’s plan, hoping to launch a surprise attack before the enemy reacts. According to the Nine Serpent Pirates’ habits, they wouldn’t notice ships at the Windless Zone’s outer edges.

Under Bingjack’s command, Wald’s ship began to submerge, disappearing from the sea surface alongside the submarine. Diving was one of this ship’s abilities, and considerable effort was expended to build it.

Bingjack planned to stealthily infiltrate using the Nine Serpents’ habits, unaware that their movements had already been discovered.

...

”Captain Buggy! We’ve found Wald’s ship. Judging from the direction, their target seems to be Nine Snakes!”

”Captain Buggy, Wald’s ship is starting to submerge. What should we do?!”

[Damn, why does it have to be now...]

Buggy indeed accepted the summons, but he was only here for the fun. In his view, with so many people, he could easily fish in troubled waters without engaging in direct combat. He didn’t expect to run directly into this group.

”Captain Buggy, let’s just take him down and use his head as your commemoration for becoming one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea.”

”Yes, as long as you take down Wald, the attitude of the World Government and Navy towards us would change. Then you could become famous overnight!”

”Become a celebrity? Sounds nice...

”Hey hey, Buggy, do you even listen to what you’re saying? Do you really want to take down that Wald?!”

Seeing Buggy being tempted by fame, Mr. 3 tried to get him to calm down. He was one of the few sane ones in Buggy’s Pirates.

”No, it’s a chance... this guy’s target is Nine Snakes, so if we let the Pirate Empress engage him in battle, then we’ll launch a surprise attack... 3, I’ve got a plan.”

”What are you planning?”

”First, send a notification to the Pirate Empress, telling her Wald is attacking her.

Wait a bit and then notify Navy Headquarters, saying Buggy’s Pirates are joining forces with Nine Serpent Pirates to attack Wald Pirates.

And we just quietly follow behind, watching Nine Snakes engage in battle with Wald.

This place isn’t far from Marinfanto. The Navy can be here quickly, and we just need to sit back and relax, making a token move at the final moment, hahahaha! Let’s do it!

The Navy will realize how formidable I am, and Nine Snakes will owe us a favor. I truly am a genius!”

In just a few minutes, Buggy had devised what he believed to be an impeccable plan, but he overlooked something crucial.

”Hey, is this Nine Serpent Pirates? We are Buggy’s Pirates, and Wald is heading towards you. Captain Buggy says he can offer assistance if needed... What? You all... Hey?!”

”What’s wrong?”

”Captain Buggy, they said they’ve never heard of a ’Buggy,’ and if you dare disturb them, they’ll take you down as well...”
