Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 1092: Chapter 1080: The Great Worldwide Draft

A well-known person once said, when a person is killed, they die.

The Navy is made up of people too. During the execution of missions, the Navy can also be killed by pirates and, in special circumstances, may even encounter betrayal by the civilians they protect.

The Paramount War had already impaired the elite forces of the Navy across all areas. After the war, in order to suppress the pirate uprisings in various places, whether in the Four Seas or the Grand Line, the casualty rate of the Navy soared significantly.

In addition, with vacancies in the position of Admirals, the Navy faced shortages in both grassroots forces and high-ranking combat power.

As the largest armed organization under the World Government, the Navy can replenish its forces through recruitment, and naval branches everywhere have this authority.

But the largest scale of recruitment still relies on the World Government. The World Government must play its role; this organization is not just a funding center, it is the power center of the entire world.

World Government recruitment is not a first-time event; even Kaidou caught up with the Navy’s world recruitment, so his King intended to send him to the Navy to exchange for participation rights in the World Conference.

Perhaps if he had been a bit wiser back then, not stirring Kaidou’s rebellious feelings and had sincerely cultivated him, the Vodka Kingdom could have become a first-class power thanks to Kaidou.

However, the King at that time did not foresee Kaidou growing to such an extent. After Kaidou made a name for himself, that King soon died of illness. According to the court physician, it was a sudden death brought on by excessive worry, commonly termed as dying from fright.

In world recruitment, besides those voluntarily joining the Navy, some were forced by local Kings due to pressure. After all, the World Government also has targets; if a country couldn’t recruit even one soldier, it wouldn’t look good for them.

But those forcibly conscripted are usually just ordinary soldiers. The strong have their own dignity and ideas; coercion doesn’t work on them.

This world recruitment is also the most unique one. This marks the first time in many years the Navy directly recruited Grand Admiral Level power, an unprecedented event.

Since the world mass recruitment began, overall, it has proceeded smoothly. Pirate turmoil has caused many to lose precious things; friends, wealth, and family all turned to ashes in the fires of war.

Hating the pirates, they chose their path of revenge, eagerly joining the Navy. Coupled with the assistance of local countries, the Navy quickly replenished its lost manpower, though the quality was somewhat lacking.

Compared to the elite lost in the Paramount War, these untrained ragtag recruits fall short by a wide margin. In contrast, the more prominent individuals are more noteworthy.

...

The First Half of the Grand Line, on a certain Spring Island, Issho walked quickly along the town roads with his blind cane, as the smell of blood reached his nose through the sea breeze, catching the scattered bodies at the port.

”Again... it’s getting worse, even islands without wealth aren’t spared....”

Issho’s blind cane gradually became an accessory; even without relying on it, he could precisely avoid obstacles as he headed toward the source of the fighting sounds.

”Hey hey! Old man! Stop right there! There are pirates at the port up ahead! Why are you running here? Didn’t you go to the shelter with the others?”

”Instead of worrying about me, you should worry about yourself. You don’t look lightly injured.”

”Quit joking, old man, how can you tell? Just go back; we still have the patrol team here, we’ll drive away those pirates...”

”Young man, did you know, every time I meet people like you, I really want to see what you all look like.”

Issho slowly drew the weapon from his blind cane, his Observation Haki had already locked onto the enemies on the pirate ship, including those pirates who had landed in his attack range.

”Old man, if you want to treat your eyes, I heard there’s a famous doctor...”

”However, not seeing is also some kind of blessing; after all, there are too many loathsome wretches on earth, seeing their faces would just make me nauseous.”

With that said, Issho had already pulled his weapon from the blind cane.

”Young man, you’ll have to help point out which ones are the pirates, Gravity Blade·Fierce Tiger!”

Issho swung his arm forward, and terrifying pressure swept across the entire dock. The pirate ship was crushed into fragments under gravity’s force; the pirates aboard were pressed into the sea, and as for those on land, both the pirates and the patrol soldiers were pinned to the ground by Issho.

Not familiar with the people here, he couldn’t distinguish who was from what side. If he knew the factions better, he might discern opponents by sensing clothing contours, but now, Issho could only choose to crush everyone and sort it out later.

”Old...old man, aren’t you too strong....”

”Just doing something worthwhile, but young man, after settling this, could you take me to a Navy recruitment office? I still can’t locate it.”

...

Almost simultaneously, in the New World, at the Navy G-14 Branch.

”Vice Admiral Duoluo! There’s a strange person outside...”

A Navy soldier reported to a short-haired woman in a leather jacket about events occurring outside the branch.

”Strange?”

”Yes, he’s a strange man, and he even brought along many sucked-dry... strange people...”

”Don’t say it like that; you’ll make the beauties think there’s something wrong with me. Introductions, I’m Aramaki; world recruitment can be registered here, right?”

A man with slightly messy black curly hair, wearing sunglasses and holding a cigarette in his mouth, walked in.

He was tall and robust, with long legs. His upper body was bare, with a tattoo ”Death River Heart” on the left side. His lips were somewhat thick, and at this moment, his right hand had transformed into several vines, with a string of desiccated pirates at their ends.

”This guy seems worth five hundred million Belly, right? Can I see Sakazuki now? I hope he’ll commend me.”

Aramaki, a Logia-type Woods-Woods Fruit user, strongly agrees with Akainu’s ideology, quite an Akainu fan. It was upon hearing Akainu became the new Navy Admiral that he considered joining the Navy.

...

Their chosen methods differ greatly, and their personalities vary considerably, but one thing remains the same: they both have monstrous strength, with a gulf between them and the average Navy soldiers.

Recruitment was a mere joke for them. Their abilities were rapidly acknowledged by the higher-ups.

The new newspaper then informed the entire sea.

Navy Headquarters’ newly appointed Admiral—Issho, codename Fujitora.

Navy Headquarters’ newly appointed Admiral—Aramaki, codename Ryokugyu.

Through world-wide conscription, the Navy once again filled the vacancy of the Three Great Admirals.
