Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 1110: Chapter 1095: That Great One Is My Mother

Betrayal, it’s an insurmountable barrier in Wald’s heart. Everything from thirty years ago is still vivid for him.

At that time, to quickly eliminate Wald, the World Government dispatched agents to join his pirate crew and gave him a fatal blow at a critical moment.

Wald was defeated, and Bingjack could only command everyone to flee individually to protect the remaining people, but this incident became a thorn in Wald’s heart.

[I command you as the acting captain, escape immediately. The only goal from now on is to survive!!]

This was Bingjack’s last words in Wald’s memory, at that time his consciousness had already become blurred due to excessive blood loss. In his heart, this was betrayal.

Betrayed, Wald no longer trusts companions. Everything Wald does now is purely for revenge, it’s to unleash his fury upon the world.

This giant cannon was his hopeful tool for revenge, yet he watched helplessly as the tool crumbled before him.

This cannon had previously undergone test firing, even without the added fruit ability, Wald saw its power and quality.

As for how Wald assessed the cannon’s quality...

It’s the same method Kaidou initially used to differentiate fake plates, by giving it a punch with the appropriate force.

The cannon barrel can withstand his punches, how could it possibly just break on its own inexplicably? Surely someone sabotaged it secretly.

Unlike the furious Wald, Hancock already knew the reason why the cannon barrel broke inexplicably.

[Fight without worry, I’ll handle the other problem]

This was the word left by Olga before she disappeared, now Hancock fully understands the meaning of her words.

”Ah, sister Olga is indeed reliable. If in the future... no, it’s not the time to think about this now.”

Patting her cheeks, Hancock refocused her thoughts back into the battle.

”Perfume Femur!”

Hancock kicked Wald’s chin, if Wald were as he was earlier, under the enhancement of the Double-Double Fruit, he could have reacted.

Although the effect of the Double-Double Fruit is to enhance his speed, under the boost of dozens of times speed, even if the Observation Haki’s prediction is at a disadvantage, as long as the gap isn’t large, he can rely on his body’s reaction to catch up.

But this time he was hit without any defense, were it not for Wald habitually maintaining full-body Armament Haki during battles, the damage from Hancock’s kick would not merely be physical impact.

The petrifying ability of Perfume Femur doesn’t relate to emotional stirring, once a part of the brain becomes petrified, even Wald would have to swallow his grievance immediately.

”How dare you be distracted fighting against me, do you think it’s still thirty years ago?!

Actually, Hancock isn’t qualified to say this, as she was also distracted, and her reason was even more absurd. However, the fact was, her getting back on track was faster than Wald, which gave her the upper hand in this aspect.

”Get out of my way! I’ll deal with you later!”

Wald raised his arm to block Hancock’s strike, then stomped on the deck with one foot, creating a big hole.

The position below was precisely the cannon control room, if this matter isn’t clarified, he will never be at ease and won’t be able to continue fighting Hancock.

So he ignored Hancock and jumped straight down.

Watching Wald about to leave like this, Hancock didn’t just consider whether it’s a trap, she also disappeared from the deck following Wald’s figure.

...

”Cough, cough, Nightin, what’s the deal with this thing?”

At this moment, Bingjack was tentatively pressing some control buttons, but no matter how he pressed, nothing responded. In frustration, he had to ask Nightin beside him.

The cannon’s origin was from the Hundred Beasts, and the transaction was initially handled by Nightin.

If Nightin had customized this weapon directly before leaving the Hundred Beasts, the cannon could have been cheaper.

But when ordering this cannon, Nightin had already left the Hundred Beasts, but still managed to get the internal membership price.

Back then, Bingjack was happy about this; after all, anything that is good and cheap is always pleasing.

”I don’t know.”

”You went to buy this thing, and you’ve lived there for so long.”

”I’m not in the technical department, this isn’t within my business scope. You’d be better off asking Gairam... Where did he and Sebastian go?”

Nightin also couldn’t figure out what went wrong with this cannon. The combat cadres of the Hundred Beasts know that there are hidden mechanisms in their externally sold weapons, as she hadn’t formally joined, nor was she responsible for frontline combat, so of course she had no knowledge about it.

”A ship of the Seven Warlords appeared behind us too, it’s Star Clown Buggy. Gairam and Sebastian went to deal with him, they also wanted to do something for Wald.

You aren’t good at frontline combat, so I didn’t tell you.”

At this moment, the upper wall suddenly shattered, and Wald also appeared in front of Nightin and Bingjack.

”Ha, so just the two of you were here just now, right?”

”Wald? Cough cough... weren’t you fighting?”

”If I continue fighting, who knows what you might do. Machines don’t just break on their own. Guyram and Sebastian aren’t here.

This cannon was brought back by you, Nightin. You must know its structure well. You’re the one who caused the damage.”

”Wald?! Cough cough... cough cough.. do you know what you’re saying?! You’re actually suspecting your companions?!”

Nightin hadn’t spoken yet, but Bingjack immediately sprang to her defense. Over thirty years, how many such periods are there in life? They’ve stood by Wald’s goal for thirty years, only to be met with Wald’s suspicion now.

”I didn’t say you. Why are you so agitated? Or is it because this is something you both did? It’s true, you haven’t agreed with my plan since I proposed it... Truly disappointing, big brother.”

”Cough cough... Wald you...”

At that moment, Bingjack felt his legs lose strength, not because he had betrayed Wald or because he was frightened by Wald’s aura, but simply due to Wald’s lack of trust.

That statement almost drained all of Bingjack’s strength, but Bingjack underestimated Wald’s awakening at this moment. He grasped several pieces of debris in his hand and was ready to throw them in Nightin and Bingjack’s direction.

”Stop right there!”

Hancock’s voice came from behind Wald, a flying kick interrupting his attack.

”Meddling, you are indeed suspicious.”

”Shut up! You heartless one, I don’t care what you plan to do to your brother, but you are not allowed to harm that lady, because she is my mother!”

Hancock struck a defiant pose, which due to the excess, turned into a form of reverence. With one finger pointing at Wald, she spoke words that shocked everyone.

With a clang, a pile of things in the corner fell to the ground. In a neglected spot, Olga slipped and collided with the stacked debris.

”Elizabeth, give me a hand. What did she just say?! Since when did she have such a relationship with Aunt Nightin?!”

Olga had carried out numerous missions, from sneaking into Navy Branch to rescue Kaidou to steering a ship to deceive Red Hair, yet this kind of accident was unprecedented.

”I think... she misunderstood your feelings, Asie’s worries aren’t unfounded.”

”What’s there to misunderstand about ordinary sisterhood?”

”Che, human emotions. I’m just a lizard, say what you will.”

Not only was Olga still processing, but even Bingjack, Wald, and Nightin herself were shocked by Hancock’s words.

”Cough cough... The Pirate Empress should be 30 years old this year... cough.. Nightin, is she your daughter?”

Bingjack’s IV stand fell to the side, but he didn’t rush to pick it up; instead, he began counting the ages from the gathered information.

”Since when do I have a daughter that old? How come I don’t know?! Hey! Empress, explain yourself!”

”Ah, sorry, it’s a bit early to mention that.”

Hancock suddenly shifted to a younger demeanor, even showing a shy expression, with words about marriage faintly audible.

If the people here were given a Devil Fruit that could glimpse dreams and illusions at this moment, they’d see an eerie wedding scene unfold.

With wedding dress, Mary and Sanda as bridesmaids, even Kaidou serving as marriage officiant.

But these events had little to do with Wald, as Hancock’s wild imagination led Wald to entirely misunderstand some things.

”I see, wanting to betray me because of an illegitimate child? No matter what, this is an unforgivable sin, so you all... go die together!”

”It seems you haven’t taken my words to heart. I said you can’t, and you cannot!”

Suddenly, a gust of wild wind surged through the enclosed cabin, with Hancock at the center, her Supreme King Haki washing over the surroundings. Hancock’s combat power would fluctuate within a range, and the floating values were usually related to the people she cared about.

”Great Perfume Femur!”

”Doubling·Thirty Times Speed!”

Wald re-entered battle mode but didn’t block Hancock’s attack. Instead, he used his speed to break free of Hancock’s entanglement.

”Kid, I admit I underestimated you. Fighting you is going to be quite a hassle, but if I don’t want to fight you, you can’t keep me here!

Experience that sense of helplessness, as I kill your cherished ones right before your eyes!”

Wald spun around and instead punched toward Nightin.

That’s the trouble with the Double-Double Fruit, as Wald said, if he wants to destroy something wholeheartedly, stopping him is a very difficult task.

But just at that moment, a dark purple energy ripple already enveloped the entire ship. Seemingly nothing happened, yet Wald’s fist was deflected.

”Truly, sorry Aunt Nightin, I didn’t want to step in, but your Captain... is crazier than I imagined.”
