Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 846: Chapter 845: That Day, Queen Learned to Share

If water is too clear, there will be no fish; if a person is too scrutinizing, they will have no friends. At this moment, Caesar had achieved the hidden accomplishment—by being utterly shameless, he became invincible.

In Queen’s perception, Caesar knew exactly what kind of virtue his fruit possessed, and upon seeing this ”perfect” ability user, he would definitely be puzzled.

Then he could boast to the other party:

[I’ve slightly improved your technology, honestly, it’s too weak to even handle such simple problems.]

The members of MADS excel in different fields, and this is Caesar’s forte. Queen intended to crush Caesar in what he was best at, thereby aiming to strike a blow at him.

Everything was progressing smoothly, yet he underestimated Caesar’s thick skin, and for a moment, he didn’t know whether to praise Caesar for his audacity or chide him for his shamelessness.

”You this guy... don’t you know what your technical level is?! Haven’t you conducted any experiments yourself!”

”Well, you know, the success of this thing is a matter of probability. You guys took about 20 back then, right? These two seem quite perfect.”

”None of your experimental subjects succeeded, did they?”

”Hohohoho, that’s why you’re lucky, you fat pig. I still think you looked better in the old days, why don’t I help you turn back?”

The members of MADS have a deep faith in their abilities and consider themselves on par with Vegapunk as genius scientists, but it seems Caesar has crossed from confidence into narcissism.

”Brother Queen, can we beat him up?”

”Yeah, Brother Queen, this guy seems like a weirdo...”

Caesar’s inspection annoyed them, but they were still enduring, uncertain of Queen’s attitude toward the situation.

Queen, although expressed a desire to thrash the guy, that didn’t signify much.

Fighting is common among the Hundred Beasts, and even the lead cadres often curse and brawl with each other, yet can still share drinks and chat happily later, with Kaidou setting the example.

”Let me handle it, I’ll beat him up for the both of us.”

They are just gatekeepers on Ghost Island, and Queen might despise Caesar’s abilities, but he hasn’t fallen to the level where he couldn’t handle gatekeepers. If these two failed, it would be quite embarrassing for Queen.

Originally, Queen planned to use the fruit, improved by him, to provoke Caesar, but seeing Caesar’s shamelessness, he had a new idea.

Given Caesar’s current perception, let’s run with it, allow him to continue down this path.

No one knows the successful fruit was re-engineered by Arceus, and Doflamingo could still sell them to others.

While outsiders might not be as keen on Zoan types as Kaidou, there’s always a chance people might find abilities intriguing.

As long as the fruits could be sold to others, as the maker of the fruits, Caesar’s name would be spread.

By then, he might be resented for too many defective products, or caught the attention of the World Government for the influence of his creations, perhaps they would even plan an assassination plot on Caesar.

At that time, he could share some of the blame from Queen.

Good things should be shared. Queen wasn’t going to let Caesar go scot-free.

Now, a crafty smile spread across Queen’s face, sprouting new ideas for the future events.

Once there were more ordinary Zoan-type users, they would cause trouble, indirectly promoting Caesar and raising his fame.

Not only could this lead Caesar to his downfall through fame, but Queen might even earn some kickbacks from Doflamingo.

With such thoughts, Caesar appeared slightly more pleasing to Queen, yet he never wavered on the thought of beating him up.

”Hey, Pika, arrange a spacious place for me, preferably with a lot of spectators. I want to humiliate this guy thoroughly.”

”Who said you could beat me up! Aren’t you overestimating yourself?”

”You can fight back, or are you scared? Perhaps we can play a game, if you win, you can call the shots.”

”A game?”

”Indeed, Russian Roulette. I have specially made seastone bullets here, enough to blow your head off.”

Saying this, Queen pulled out a pistol, which elicited a roar from Caesar.

”You idiot! Haven’t you seen this kind of gun?! Which sea uses such a gun?! Are you some bumpkin from the Four Seas?”

Caesar had not agreed to Queen’s bet; he was inherently cautious and hadn’t planned on participating in such a lethal game, but Queen had insulted him.

The rules of Russian Roulette are simple. Load a bullet or multiple into the six chambers of a revolver, spin the cylinder at random, lock it back in place, and participants take turns placing the gun to their heads and pulling the trigger.

The precondition being, the gun must be a revolver, but Queen pulled out an automatic pistol.

This was merely a bet on the bullets jamming.

The technology in the Pirate World is skewed. On the Grand Line, you could see all sorts of automatic weapons, but in the Four Seas, many people hadn’t even seen a revolver, using old flintlocks where bullets are loaded one at a time.

”Enough nonsense, get beaten up and try your chance to fight back, or bet your life on my gun jamming. Your damn M-virus destroyed my banana plantation, so we must settle this today!”

”Caesar, this is Doffy’s idea.”

Pika blocked Caesar’s escape route. For the sake of future dealings and to secure his funding, Caesar was forced to agree to this deal, to duel with Queen, only to find the venue was the Bullfighting Arena.

It was one of the main attractions in the Dressrosa Kingdom, providing substantial tax revenue to Dressrosa.

Originally a place for swordsmen to spar, it turned into a pure spectacle of mutual slaughter and a place to provoke the public after Doflamingo ruled it, full of bloody violence.

Yet in this Great Pirate Era, this kind of ambiance actually boosted the revenue further.

The unwilling Caesar arrived here, planning to make Queen suffer, while Queen was eager, readying to revenge for his bananas.

[Ladies and gentlemen! Today, we are greeted with a special battle; two individuals will face off right here!]

In the Bullfighting Arena, the commentator was explaining. Dressrosa now didn’t refuse pirate entry. Pirates participating was a usual event, and with Doflamingo’s status as a member of the Seven Warlords of the Sea and a former Heavenly Celestial Dragon, the World Government turned a blind eye.

[The duelists today are, representing the Hundred Beasts Pirates, a major figure under the Four Emperors, the Great Pirate with a bounty of twenty-seven billion Belly! Plague Disaster Queen! And his opponent, the three-hundred-million Belly outlaw - Caesar!]

”You bastard! What do you mean outlaw, am I just an outlaw!”

The fight hadn’t started, but Caesar already felt discontent, the modifiers for each side were hugely disparate.
