Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 807: Chapter 806: Calm and Impulse, Waiting and Misfortune

”What’s... what’s wrong, Brother Law? Did something happen?”

Law remained incredibly aloof as always, and his personality hadn’t changed since they embarked on their sea voyage.

Shachi and Penguin had both deviated from the right path after their parents’ deaths. It was Law, along with Wolf who had adopted and cared for Law, who took them in. They lived together, experienced battles together, and eventually set out on this journey with the Polar Diving gifted to them by Wolf.

After escaping from Seagull Island, Law experienced a relatively happy period.

He gained companions he could truly call friends and learned the joy of living.

However, even in such a life, he couldn’t heal the scars of the past.

His heart still harbored some impure remnants—the destruction of Freyvans, the hatred for Doflamingo, the anxiety over fulfilling Corazon’s wishes.

Initially, he believed that as long as he someday went to Dressrosa, everything with Doflamingo would be over.

But after a battle, Law began to yearn to understand what true freedom really meant.

To comprehend the meaning of freedom that Corazon spoke of, he chose to set sail. In his view of The Sea, pirates are the most ”free” group. Influenced by this environment, Law made his decision.

He hesitated to rush into the Grand Line due to some concerns. Since learning the deep secret of the Op-Op Fruit, he knew Doflamingo would not give up this opportunity—the legendary chance at immortality.

At the moment, Doflamingo was unaware of his specific status, but as soon as he entered the Grand Line, Doflamingo would eventually catch on to some clues. Having trained in the Donquixote family, Law knew he was no match for Doflamingo right now.

Thus, he remained in the North Sea, still teaching Penguin and Shachi some things. Though learned from the Donquixote family, these teachings did not hinder him from strengthening himself.

Ever since Doflamingo seized the throne of Dressrosa, Law had been monitoring information from The Sea, even connecting with the Underworld of the North Sea to further gather intel.

With his medical skill, he navigated the Underworld well and uncovered some information, but the more he learned, the more challenging Doflamingo seemed to him.

Originally, he wasn’t anxious at all until he heard that particular name.

Family was a hurdle he couldn’t overcome. If not for the events at Freyvans, he might be an outstanding surgeon now rather than a pirate.

”What did you say that person was called?”

”Ra... Rami, a female pirate affiliated with Hundred Beasts from the Shampodi Islands. She single-handedly took out a large group of Navy. Seems like she’s some sort of ability user.”

Upon hearing this, Law snatched the newspaper and quickly skimmed through the information, searching for clues from the newspaper’s images.

He could never forget his sister’s name. What Shachi said about an ability user caused his heart to tremble. Due to the platinum lead illness, both he and his sister had limited lifespans. He healed the platinum lead issue for himself with the Op-Op Fruit, but there’s only one Op-Op Fruit.

Given normal circumstances, even if his sister escaped Freyvans, she would eventually die from a platinum lead outbreak. But perhaps an ability user is different.

What if some other ability could resolve this illness?

Furthermore, it’s a person from Hundred Beasts.

Law had seen the living nun at the Hundred Beasts Fruit press conference at the time. Although the nun said there were no other survivors from Freyvans, exceptions can occur; Law himself was an example.

[Fo fo fo, Law, someone is lying. Your eyes deceive you, or perhaps this is a scheme in itself. Do you know what kind of enterprise Hundred Beasts Fruit is? It’s a white glove of Hundred Beasts.]

Law still remembered this sentence.

Unknown abilities, the same group, identical names—these coincidences combined stirred some hope within Law.

But when he saw the side profile in the photo, he fell into confusion.

It’s not strange for a newspaper to have photos. Whether Navy or members of the World Economic News Agency, they were invincible at capturing images. The problem was the grown-up Rami, who looked vastly different from the Rami in his memory.

Rami was currently 18 years old, while Law’s memory of Rami remained at 11 years ago.

Some people’s childhood and adult faces are carved from the same mold, while others undergo drastic changes. Rami was the latter. Over the years, she had grown to the extent that Law couldn’t confirm whether she was the Rami he knew—whether she was his sister.

”Brother Law, what’s wrong?”

”Yeah, Brother Law, is this someone important?”

”I don’t know. I’m not sure...”

Law was currently in a dilemma. He could only uncover the truth by reaching the New World, but to reach there, he’d need to advance many of his plans.

If it was true, that was good. But if he was mistaken, his affairs concerning Doflamingo would be completely ruined.

”Brother Law, why don’t we set out for the Grand Line?”

”Yes, we’re pretty much ready. We’ve prepared for this.”

The trio had been together for many years, and Penguin and Shachi understood Law to an extent. They could sense his anxiety was related to the information in the newspaper.

Law didn’t respond but fell into contemplation. After a long time, he made a decision.

”No, the original plan remains. It’s not time yet...”

If he wanted to find Doflamingo, he had to go to Dressrosa. If he sought Kaidou, he must go to Wano Kuni. But now, he lacked everything. Even if he reached the New World, he’d likely never meet anyone.

To make a name for himself meant he’d be discovered by Doflamingo. He heard Doflamingo had business dealings with Hundred Beasts. He had only one life, and although he wasn’t afraid to die, he didn’t want to die for nothing.

If that really was his sister, being associated with a Sea Emperor should keep her safe, hence he suppressed the impulse.

Before he was infected by Luffy, Law remained a calm individual, making what he believed was the most prudent decision at the moment, though he slightly accelerated his action plan.

...

And some time later, the Black Spade Pirates, driven by hot-blooded passion, charged into the New World and encountered their major predicament. According to Ace’s plan, he wanted to first visit Red Hair and then challenge Whitebeard, with Kaidou being the final destination.

But due to the perilous ocean currents and weather in the New World, after a series of natural disasters, he was instead swept to the outer sea of Wano Kuni. Here, he faced the greatest crisis since arriving in the New World.

From the deep sea, Nereus’s figure gradually surfaced. Seeing the ship without any Hundred Beasts markings ahead, she directly raised waves, crashing towards the Spatier.
