Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 802: Chapter 801: Wind That Severed the Flames

”Ace?!”

Beside him, Dues was shocked to see Ace bleeding. The Flame-Flame Fruit was found by him and Ace together. At that time, they didn’t understand the mysteries of Devil Fruits and wanted to gain abilities together, so they both ate the Flame-Flame Fruit, but only Ace, who took the first bite, gained the power.

After that, the Logia-type abilities allowed them to make swift progress. In the First Half of the Grand Line, not many could deal with a Logia-type ability user, besides the Navy’s Prison Bombs and Seastone, their only fear was drowning.

Earlier attacks from those two pirates, Ace had underestimated their prowess. He is a Logia-type ability user, but his body techniques are also honed by Garp’s training. Ordinary people aren’t really his match, but he didn’t expect them to hit the Logia-type body.

When it came to Iscariot, it was instinct that made him dodge, but he still got grazed.

Watching Ace face setback after setback, Dues hadn’t expected this at all. Moreover, the surrounding pirates showed unfriendly expressions. No matter the reasoning, having their boss step in directly is seen as a face-losing action.

If it were a monster like a Sea Emperor, it might be understandable, but to be bested by a newcomer from the First Half, it really damages their pride.

The boss’s fight they couldn’t interfere with, so naturally, their eyes turned to Dues.

”You go take the kids away, I’ll handle this.”

”Miss Rami...”

”It’s fine, isn’t this Paradise? Besides, I’ve learned a few things.”

The Arceus Sect is a very peculiar religious organization. Besides ordinary believers, when those clergy are gathered together, apart from the Navy and Emperor’s crew, no other force could handle them.

As a member of the sect, being able to fight is a basic necessity. In the New World, Rami couldn’t exhibit her full potential, but here it’s different.

Moreover, following the Hundred Beasts’ management style, when Iscariot began fighting, Rami indeed had temporary jurisdiction over them.

”Yes!”

”Come on, kids, this way, we’ll protect you.”

Many in this group were brought back in a similar manner ten years ago. The words weren’t just perfunctory. Watching the girl slowly approach, Dues didn’t want to get entangled with her, because Ace’s battle was not going well.

In such a slum environment, Ace had many concerns and didn’t dare to use large-scale flames. The most direct result of this was that Iscariot was suppressing him.

Scizor is indeed weak to fire, but they don’t just collapse when encountering flames. At least before reaching the temperature limit, ordinary flames don’t have much effect.

In this situation, Dues also wanted to help him.

”Get out of the way!”

”Oh my, isn’t it you who should step aside? After all, it’s you pirates who are blocking the way.”

Dues swung his hand, wanting to knock Rami down. Since the opponent was female, he subconsciously thought she wasn’t strong, so he held back his strength when aiming at her stomach. However, his fist sank directly in.

Rami’s abdomen had turned into a colorful Alola Muk’s sludge, her body showing signs of melting.

”A Logia-type?!”

”Wrong answer, please lie down for a bit.”

Dues didn’t understand what Rami meant, but his arm suddenly lost sensation, and the feeling continuously extended upward. By the time he realized something was wrong, half of his body had gone numb.

”You... you....”

His tongue began to stiffen, and Dues stammered, unable to speak, ultimately falling to the ground with unwilling eyes.

”The human skin isn’t airtight. The instant contact was made, you lost.”

Rami’s body was indeed terrifying. When attacked, she could, with just a thought, control the substances within her to form various toxins—paralyzing, lethal, or even viruses with unique effects.

Similar to Queen, whether one could resist toxins marked a dividing line. Opponents above this line would give them more trouble, but those below would be absolutely crushed.

...

”Dues!”

”Getting distracted in battle is a bad habit. Being a Logia-type user, don’t get too arrogant!”

The steel pincers swung, and Iscariot’s claw struck Ace’s chest with a swoosh. Without Haki, he couldn’t predict Iscariot’s attack, and his body reflexes alone weren’t enough for him to dodge in time.

Armament had grasped the Logia-type’s form, this claw hit quite solidly.

”Firefly Light: Fire Dharma!”

Ace’s hands emitted a faint green light, with small fireballs flying from his palms. They gradually gathered around Iscariot, then converged, resulting in a violent explosion.

But as the explosion started, Iscariot had already moved out of the blast’s range.

The twin pincers aimed for Ace’s head.

”Divine Fire: Shiranui!”

Ace’s hand turned into flames, extending like a spear to fend off Iscariot’s attack.

”Wind Pressure Flame Slash.”

Iscariot’s assault didn’t stop. Upon seeing Ace attack, her wings flapped at an extreme speed. The pincers then spat out strong air currents, under her control, forming a wind blade.

This was a weakness she discovered while studying in Wano Kuni. Scizor’s combat style involved bashing, and in its transformed state, wielding weapons wasn’t convenient, so she devised a new method based on Scizor’s cooling mechanism.

By compressing the airflow from the wing flaps inside the body and releasing it through the gaps in her pincers, creating a high-pressure water-gun-like wind blade.

The sharp wind not only replaces blades, providing a sharper attack method, but it also lets her slash away flames she dislikes.

The flames Ace cast were split by Iscariot. Then the twin pincers, like a guillotine, hovered at Ace’s neck.

She noted Ace’s issue; as a Logia-type user, they excel in large-scale attacks, capable of altering the environment quickly.

Such power only comes after Paramecia-type Awakening, but for a Logia-type, it’s one of their most basic abilities. They can swiftly create their battleground.

But apart from the initial Enjomo blocking, Ace hadn’t used large-scale flame attacks again, seemingly restraining himself. This piqued Iscariot’s interest, so she merely halted her wind blade at his neck.

Yet before she could inquire, the sound of cannon fire exploded around them—a group of Navy had unknowingly surrounded the area...
