Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 832: Chapter 831: The Scapegoat—Kaidou

Although he didn’t agree, Baron Eggman understood the meaning behind Charlotte Linlin’s words. Previously, she had always directly refused.

Now, giving him the choice also meant that Charlotte Linlin was already tempted.

Baron Eggman didn’t know what BIG MOM was really thinking, but he made a comparison himself.

An eye for an eye, a Roadsign Poneglyph for a Roadsign Poneglyph, Hundred Beasts’ face to cover up the invasion problem, this might really be negotiated just like that.

”Baron Eggman, Mama is asking you a question.”

Seeing that Baron Eggman hadn’t reacted, Katakuri urged him, and in the end, he gave a positive answer.

”I can accept it, I’ll leave the rest to you, Mama.”

Baron Eggman relaxed here, and Charlotte Linlin didn’t keep pressing, but Katakuri raised a new request; he didn’t want the already imprinted text.

”We’re all pirates, some things don’t need to be exposed, video can’t prove anything. You guys imprint our Poneglyph yourselves, we’ll send someone with you, and then go imprint your Poneglyph. It’s good for everyone this way.”

Kaidou was previously worried about these things; Charlotte Linlin isn’t hard to fool, but among those kids of hers, there are still many clever ones. Zeraora and his team didn’t refuse but demanded to take Pedro first.

Having lost an eyeball, he was still severely bleeding and needed treatment, while Jebo temporarily stayed here as a hostage and was supposed to bring back the imprinted Poneglyph later.

...

”I’m sorry, Your Grace, sorry to trouble you with this trip...”

On the small boat with Jebo and Pedro, Pedro’s expression was slightly dejected.

”Don’t be so down. It’s just an apology, I haven’t lost anything, and you don’t need to worry, Jebo. We can vouch for such a little credibility; when everything’s done, we’ll definitely let him come back intact.

He is, after all, Bepo’s brother. If Bepo knew his brother died, he would probably be very sad.

But you guys should be more careful in the future, don’t do such risky things again. This time it was quite complicated.”

”Yes, I’ll be more careful in the future...”

As Pedro contemplated life, Setsuna found Zeraora.

”So, can his eye still be treated?”

”More or less, but let’s give him a lesson first. If they were enemies, it would be fine to just attack, but he needs to be more cautious.”

When they returned to Ghost Island, Zeraora took those sent by the BIG MOM Pirates to imprint the Poneglyph. Though they agreed to this, it was impossible to let them wander around Wano Kuni, as there were many secrets here.

Setsuna, on the other hand, took Pedro to the foot of Mount Fuji.

”Your Grace, why are you bringing me here?”

”To have you climb the mountain. Once you reach the top, you’ll understand why. Oh, and take this; remember to look at it more while climbing.

This is the Holy Mountain. If you can reach the top, you’ve passed that esteemed one’s test.”

Pedro gave up one of his eyes, but it didn’t mean it couldn’t be healed; he just needed some tests.

With his physical ability, climbing wasn’t difficult, even with one eye lost, it wouldn’t affect this aspect.

But at this point, Mount Fuji was special due to Arceus’ power influences. Ordinary people could climb without issues, but those whose abilities exceeded the norm would feel a special pressure as they neared the top; the stronger they were, the greater the pressure.

Once you pass a test, this influence vanishes permanently, and now Pedro had this opportunity.

Even Though Setsuna didn’t spell out the purpose, Pedro chose to obey the Duke’s command and started his journey to climb.

After a delay, while Pedro was still undergoing the test, the two Great Pirate Gangs of Hundred Beasts and BIG MOM had completed the exchange of the Roadsign Poneglyph, and Jebo was successfully brought back.

Then Setsuna encountered a white bear clinging to her leg, continuously apologizing and expressing gratitude—not Jebo, but Bepo, whose heart was filled with gratitude for her and Zeraora saving his brother.

Jebo didn’t linger but joined the climbing team, mainly wanting to see how Pedro was doing.

Subsequently, Kaidou had also returned to Wano Kuni, but before Kaidou, the World Economic News Agency had already reported some news.

...

”Kaidou, do you have anything to say about this?”

[Punk Hazard hit by pirate attack, many fatalities.]

”Morgans and those Navy... truly a bunch of nonsense. You know me. If I did it, nothing there would be left.”

Looking at the newspaper in front of him, Kaidou’s face twitched a few times. Heaven knows, this time Punk Hazard really wasn’t blown up by him.

If he exploded it, there couldn’t be any surviving Navy; he would have flattened the entire island.

Even though it had nothing to do with him, he was flying over on his eight-headed dragon at an inappropriate time and ended up in the wrong spot.

To let others see him, he chose low-altitude flight, and he got caught on camera, conveniently allowing the Navy to hang it on him.

Punk Hazard being a Navy research base had many research projects, including some proposed based on Queen’s ideas.

Stirred by Queen, Caesar desperately wanted to prove himself, so he started some projects ahead of time.

Unfortunately, he couldn’t develop those things. In order to prove his capability, he redirected his focus back to weaponry.

He eventually developed a special weapon codenamed ”Realm of Death,” but the Navy abruptly halted his experiments.

Because according to his data, this weapon targeted both allies and enemies and was highly dangerous; even an experiment could cause significant negative impacts, and the Navy’s scientific corps couldn’t afford such a scandal.

But to Caesar, this was his pinnacle creation. Only fools and idiots could be accidentally harmed, and dying from his weapon experiment was a testament to one’s value.

Due to violations, he was stripped of his position in the Science Class and arrested by the Navy for trial.

Caesar wasn’t convinced by any of this and detonated the special weapon.

The island’s facilities were heavily damaged; there were casualties in the Science Class, and the Navy didn’t know how to handle it, but Kaidou passing by did them a big favor.

He was almost like a lunatic at sea; blowing up a research base was perfectly reasonable.

At that moment, Kaidou realized Queen’s hardships and understood what it felt like to be the scapegoat.
