Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 814: Chapter 813: Curse or Prophecy, the Miner’s Fate

However, no one complained because, thanks to Wores, they had this opportunity.

”Uh... is there any suitable island nearby?”

Dues asked Lola, as all the people on the ship had nothing left. Wores had risked his life to save them, and the treasures on the ship were long gone.

Although they still had their personal belongings, combined, it was probably not enough to buy a new ship.

They had become pirates without a ship. To sail again, they either needed to steal a ship or buy one, but returning to Fishman Island was not a good option.

The risk of hijacking a ship underwater was too high, the Shampodi Islands were unstable, and none of them wanted to start over again, so they wanted to disembark nearby.

”Oh, don’t you want to return to Paradise?”

”How could we not? We aim to become the strongest pirate crew in the world!”

”Courageous, I like it. So, does no one really want to marry me? I can give you one more chance.”

Lola had seen many pirates who failed in the New World. Most of them would flee in panic after failing, developing a fear of the New World.

There were also some who couldn’t even handle the first half, eventually only daring to make trouble in the Four Seas.

This courageous character allowed her to admire them slightly.

”No, thank you, we’re not interested.”

However, Lola’s marriage proposal received no response.

”You guys, Lola’s mother is a famous Great Pirate in the New World! How could you not seize this opportunity?”

”Then why don’t you accept it?”

”...”

Dues’ words silenced the other members of the Rolling Pirates. Although love may not necessarily be related to appearance, appearance creates a first impression, and Lola found it challenging to look for true love by leaping this step.

However, Lola didn’t mind and changed the subject.

”If you’re heading to Fishman Island... there’s just one island on the way, New Fishman Island. It shouldn’t be a problem to drop you off there, right?”

”No problem, any island is fine, but New Fishman Island... what kind of island is that?”

Ace didn’t care which island it was, but he was quite curious about the island’s situation.

”I don’t know, I’ve never heard of this island...”

Looking at his companions’ gaze, Scar gave a negative answer. He knew something about the New World, but it was very limited, and he knew nothing about this newly emerged island.

Lola also couldn’t explain clearly what kind of island it was, only knowing that this island existed.

Ultimately, everyone’s gaze settled on Wores. New Fishman Island, no matter how it sounded, was related to the Fishman Race, and as a fishman, he should know some inside information.

”Wores, do you know anything?”

”I do know, but when I left Fishman Island, that island was just a concept. Have they moved so fast?”

Saying this, Wores explained the theoretical significance of New Fishman Island from Otohime’s ideal, but he didn’t know much more about the details.

Being part of Ace’s pirate crew already indicated that Wores wasn’t one of those extreme fishmen. Even before he set sail, he agreed somewhat with Otohime’s ideals, although not entirely, as Otohime was too idealistic.

In the end, Ace and the others headed to New Fishman Island, planning to arrange for a new ship there.

...

New Fishman Island didn’t exclude outsiders. With the fishman Wores, they weren’t intercepted, and the Rolling Pirates came along as well, aiming for coating services.

There were many excellent coating craftsmen among the Fishman Race. To head to Paradise, coating was an essential step, and since it was available there, they naturally wouldn’t refuse.

However, within the internal lake of New Fishman Island, the Black Spade Pirates saw something terrifying—Gyarados.

”Why are these monsters here too...?”

Nereus hadn’t shown her true form before, but she was followed by other Gyarados. During their Grand Line voyage, they also encountered other Gyarados and knew these creatures weren’t easy to deal with.

It seemed that upon hearing their name calling, the Gyarados over there looked towards them.

At this moment, they suddenly heard singing above their heads, quickly followed by talking.

”Humans, don’t be so nervous. They won’t attack you first.”

A blue chubby guy jumped down from the back of a Flygon.

Due to environmental factors, the Trapinch living there were both large and small, and the same applied after evolution.

This blue chubby guy was naturally Jinbe, who had been patrolling on the back of an oversized Flygon, and the song they heard was none other than the sound of Flygon’s wing-flapping.

As the final evolution form of Trapinch, they achieved an extraordinary transformation akin to carp leaping over the dragon’s gate and successfully gained the dragon attribute.

Flygon was mainly green, with two green antennae on its head, having some resemblance to a dragonfly, also known as the Dragonfly Dragon.

A red hemispherical structure covered its eyes, with the red cover providing protection from external harm.

The sound of their wing flapping was incredibly beautiful, like a girl singing, and this beautiful sound was also a trap used to attract prey. Though they were called Desert Spirits because of this, these spirits could indeed be deadly.

Like the Siren’s song, if one becomes enchanted by it, getting out would be quite challenging.

New Fishman Island was not tranquil, and there would occasionally be foreign invaders and sneaky human traffickers, providing Trapinch with combat opportunities, gradually leading to evolved individuals over time, and they became the island’s guardians.

Besides them, Jinbe would occasionally patrol to prevent unnecessary conflicts.

If it was illegal entry, they wouldn’t even get to this place, so Jinbe knew they were not intruders and tried to resolve unnecessary conflicts.

”Boss Ace, it’s one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, Sea Hero Jinbe...”

”Brother Jinbe, it’s me, Wores!”

Among the fishmen, few didn’t know Jinbe and Tiger. Seeing the other side appear, Wores excitedly greeted, and seeing a fellow race-mate, a slight smile appeared on Jinbe’s stern face, but this smile didn’t last long.

...

”Do you want to buy a ship?”

”Yes, we encountered some trouble before, our ship sank, so we came here hitching a ride.”

”Buying a ship isn’t a problem, but do you have the money?”

Even for little Hachi and Ah Long, Jinbe could directly give them a ship, but Wores was only an acquaintance, not someone he had a significant favor with. He couldn’t break the rules for this reason.

Seeing their expressions, Jinbe guessed they were probably penniless. Considering they were of the same race, he gave them a suggestion.

”We’ve discovered a mine nearby. The pay for mining is considerable. Why don’t you consider it?”

Hearing Jinbe’s words, Ace suddenly recalled Iscariot’s remarks. For some reason, he felt there must be some connection...
