Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 812: Chapter 811: Hundred Beasts Tradition, Divine Child Assembly

Similar things don’t just happen with Jack or Yamato; this kind of behavior is common in the Hundred Beasts Pirates.

Don’t know your subordinate’s abilities? Have a fight.

Don’t know your team’s strength? Again, have a fight.

As long as it involves combat, the solution for the Hundred Beasts is usually to have a fight.

Besides Yamato and Jack, even Maria, who spends most of her time in Wano Kuni, evaluates her subordinates’ strength in this manner.

Jack’s number of battles is the highest, and the frequency of battles in his team is also the greatest, but his subordinates accumulate merits the slowest.

In ordinary squad battles, there is usually a probing phase, but Jack is different; when the ship approaches, he typically charges ahead by himself. The Steel Body brought by Copperajah makes him unstoppable, and ordinary people can’t stop him.

Moreover, at sea, those with similar strength can’t do anything to him; once caught by him, he pulls them directly to the bottom.

The bodies of the people here are different from normal, but underwater, they ultimately can’t breathe; they can last five minutes, ten minutes, but Jack can stay for days.

If you encounter him at sea and aren’t agile enough or lack the strength to suppress him, you’re essentially doomed.

This is why Ginrummy and Sheepshead accumulate merits even slower, yet they successfully obtain the Eleph-Eleph Fruit Normal and Eleph-Eleph Fruit Ancient from Jack.

And after that, Jack pulls them out for sparring, with the same reason: to familiarize themselves with their transformations and let them know how an elephant fights.

When Jack politely asks them if there’s anything unclear, Sheepshead raises this question.

”Isn’t the Hundred Beasts always like this?”

Listening to Sheepshead’s question, Jack doesn’t quite understand; fighting between leaders and subordinates is normal to him, and that’s how he grew up.

And it’s not just him; Yamato, Maria, Ulti, Page One, and even Iscariot all grew up this way.

This is Jack’s inherent understanding. If you want to trace back to the source, you’d have to look at Kaidou, then go back further. Not just these new generations, but even King and Shaina grew up this way, with Queen having profound experiences with it.

This is the one tradition of the Hundred Beasts that doesn’t fade with age, retained till now.

Yamato genuinely wants to use this method to understand her subordinates’ abilities without considering other aspects. Jack simply considers this method straightforward and effective, while some leaders merely want newbies to experience what they endured.

Since there is no ability to resist, then let’s suffer together.

The three elephant men started their battle, and it looked quite comical. Due to Jack’s enormous physique, he resembled the Giant Race after transforming, but Ginrummy and Sheepshead were of ordinary human size.

Even though the Eleph-Eleph Fruit caused their physiques to soar, they still couldn’t compare with Jack, and this was Jack’s teaching moment, giving a peculiar feeling of a big elephant leading small elephants.

The Divine Grace ceremony ended, most returned to their original posts, and quite a few were listening to Misu preaching, including some newcomers like Kozuki Hiyori.

Misu never refuses such situations; as long as someone is willing to listen to her teachings, she patiently repeats the doctrine.

She is the one who edited the doctrine, and after many years of preaching, she can almost recite the thick doctrine entirely.

”Nun, you say the Lord doesn’t forget anyone who works hard. What about you?”

”Of course, the Lord won’t forget; my rebirth is a gift from the Lord. If you’re asking about abilities, why do you think I lack them?”

Speaking these words, Misu extends her arm, directly resolving their doubts.

Queen already snuck away, not wanting Kaidou’s attention; at times like these, Kaidou could get carried away, possibly pulling him into training, but Shaymin didn’t leave and joined a Pokémon gathering.

...

”Hello, my name is Shaymin. Were you created by the Lord as well?”

Shaymin bounced onto Nereus’s shoulder. Due to a special aura within him, Nereus didn’t stop her, and Shaymin, being so small, didn’t occupy much space. Besides, Wolf and Miaona were also on her shoulder.

They were quite curious about the big auntie.

”Yes.”

”The outside world is fun, right? You must have seen many interesting things on your journey?”

”Interesting? The Sea is not particularly fun, but the Mandfeish Family’s Paradise is quite enjoyable.”

Nereus mostly functions in the deep sea, which doesn’t align with the word ”interesting,” barring the area near Fishman Island, which is mostly dark.

”Really? So you find it boring? It sounds dull.”

”Shaymin, don’t speak like that.”

Listening to Shaymin’s remarks, Diancie felt it inappropriate, so she interrupted Shaymin.

”Ah, I didn’t mean that, I was just curious...”

Shaymin waved her forelimbs to explain but accidentally fell, soon caught mid-air by Diancie’s diamond platform.

”Don’t be so clumsy, be more graceful, Shaymin.”

”But I don’t like that; isn’t being free much better, right?”

”I think Queen has been a bad influence on you.”

”No, but maybe I gained some weight, and he does have lots of tasty food.”

After a while, I might go out with him, which is why I wanted to know what the outside is like.”

Unlike the etiquette-oriented Diancie, Shaymin is quite carefree, standing out among this group of humanoid Pokémon.

While Diancie corrected her little sister’s etiquette, Miaona and Wolf conversed with Nereus.

”Um... Is this the correct way to educate subordinates?” ℯℯ𝑙.

Nereus saw Jack and Yamato’s battle on the side and couldn’t help but ask. This approach seemed primitive; she initially wanted to change it, but seeing this, it seemed this might be the correct way.

”You better not learn this; it’s a unique feature here.”

”Dad’s right, Aunt Nereus. Haven’t you encountered anything interesting outside?”

Zeraora dispelled Nereus’s idea, indirectly saving the lives of some Gyarados, but soon the topic returned to the matter of interest.

”Interesting... If I have to say, I met someone outside who plays with fire, which is quite interesting, at least naively interesting.”

”Outside?”

Hearing this, Zeraora felt something was off.

”Yes, according to the Lord’s earlier intention, I’ve already sunk their ship, so they should be drifting far by now.”
