Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 840: Chapter 839: Old Friend, Repentance or Atonement

”They’re not really people from the World Government just waiting for us to lower our guard, are they...”

The Revolutionary Army initially didn’t suspect the people from the Arceus Sect. If their target were themselves, they wouldn’t have openly used Rokushiki. Now, looking back, the Revolutionary Army feels the other side might be trying to lull them into complacency.

”Don’t be foolish. If that were the case, they wouldn’t need a surprise attack. I think there might be a misunderstanding here...”

The members of the Revolutionary Army whispered among themselves but also picked up their weapons, preparing to respond to any potential sudden incidents.

”Sabo! What on earth did you do?!”

”It wasn’t me. It has nothing to do with me. It was already like this when I arrived. They seem particularly angry...”

Sabo, carrying a water pipe, looked helpless. He was attacked by the Heavenly Celestial Dragon’s cannon on a small boat and was luckily picked up by Dragon, after which he joined the Revolutionary Army.

However, that attack injured his brain, causing some memory issues, leaving him unaware of past events. He carried the pipe because for some inexplicable reason, it just felt handy.

The girl suspecting him was Koala. After the ”news” of Tiger’s death spread across The Sea, Koala felt deeply lost and eventually left her hometown to join the Revolutionary Army as well.

In this process, she met Sabo, and they grew together.

”Well, everyone, I think there might be some misunderstanding. We’re not bad people. You were just helping the townspeople. We can sit down and talk slowly if there’s any issue...”

”Blasphemer, there’s nothing to say.”

The shield that was knocked off by the water pipe returned to his hand again. The shield should count as equipment, but it was also part of their abilities. Though they couldn’t control the shield with mere thought, recalling it simply was no problem.

At least they didn’t have to worry about retrieving the shield themselves if it was knocked away.

For ordinary people, it might just be an incomprehensible ramble, not a big deal, but for members of the Holy Temple’s Knight Order, this sentence was questioning their faith’s God’s power.

The shield was thrown again but was intercepted by Koala using the Soft Strength of Fishman Karate.

”Wait, there must be a misunderstanding here! There’s no need to fight!”

Preserving living forces and developing allies is the current developmental route of the Revolutionary Army. The Arceus Sect’s act of aiding the weak made Koala want to avoid conflict. She believed that such bloodshed was unnecessary.

But she didn’t know that her actions not only reduced bloodshed but also saved herself. Once the members of the Holy Temple’s Knight Order got into a frenzy, ordinary people couldn’t stop them.

Koala’s plea had no effect whatsoever. In this aspect, they were very stubborn; whoever dared to question such things had to pay, and whoever wanted to help, fought as well.

”Wait a moment.”

The leading knight was just about to give the combat order when Tiger walked over from behind, having headed this way upon discovering the conflict.

”Was your Fishman Karate taught by Hack?”

Looking at Koala in front of him, Tiger raised his question. Although Fishman Karate didn’t differ much, it could still be subdivided into different schools, and Hack’s school was quite memorable on Fishman Island.

Although humans had the ability to learn Fishman Karate, successful candidates were few and far between. Coupled with the traces of Hack’s school on Koala, it piqued Tiger’s curiosity.

”Uncle... Uncle Tiger! You must be Uncle Tiger, right!! You’re not dead?!!”

Compared to a few years ago, Koala had changed quite a lot, and Tiger never expected that the little girl from back then would walk this path. With the hat blocking the view, he didn’t recognize Koala initially.

But for Koala, Tiger was someone she could never forget. His apparent death indirectly set Koala on this path, making peaceful coexistence between Fishmen and humans her goal.

”Who are you...”

In the eyes of humans, he had already died from the Navy’s attack. Even if the Navy crossed paths with him, they would only think of him as an ordinary fishman because, in official reports, Tiger was a dead man.

Most people would choose to believe their superiors. Apart from the Fishman Race, he indeed hadn’t met anyone so sure of his identity before.

”It’s me, Koala, I am Koala!”

Removing her hat and readjusting her hair, her features gradually overlapped with what Tiger remembered Koala looked like.

”You’ve grown so much...”

Seeing the little girl back then turn into a young woman, Tiger felt deeply moved, while Koala hugged him and cried. Tiger being alive was a great joy for her, but some things hadn’t ended with the reunion of old friends.

”Uncle Tiger, what exactly happened to you back then...”

”That’s a very long story. Let me handle some things first.”

Navigating around Koala, Tiger approached the man who misspoke, but it frightened Koala. She was very familiar with Tiger’s demeanor—even when Tiger didn’t want her to witness the battles during his time in the Sun Pirates, she knew what he looked like when he was angry.

”Wait, Uncle Tiger, there really is some misunderstanding here. He’s usually just a bit glib, but he wouldn’t blaspheme anyone! Hey, what exactly have you done!”

”I just muttered that it’s useless this way...”

”That is questioning the master’s power,”

The knight did not refute, merely said what he had heard.

”Ture, we’re spreading the master’s light, not making people fear him. If we do that, won’t we become followers of an Evil God?

If we kill someone for a thoughtless mistake, won’t we be the same as those ignorant false gods?

One must be given a chance to repent for unintentional offenses. This is the Lord’s compassion, have you forgotten?”

Misu arrived there as well, but being one of the first believers, she was much calmer because she remembered the mission during their outing.

She knew that not everyone could understand her faith, and some would never accept it, but as long as they didn’t utter abusive words, even if they didn’t believe, she wouldn’t act rashly.

The ignorant false gods refer to the Heavenly Celestial Dragons. Since they proclaimed themselves as gods, in The Sea, God became a derogatory term.

Misu aims to change this perception, letting them know the difference of the True God.

For actions made unintentionally, she would also give them a chance to repent, but only once because the Lord is merciful and majestic.

Repentance is a chance. If one fails to seize the opportunity, then they can only atone by other means.

”Sir, the Lord is merciful. If it was unintentional, I allow you to repent, or atone in our way.”
