Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 805: Chapter 804: You Have the Potential to Be This Year’s Best Miner

”Hey, kid, this has nothing to do with you. Interfering in our affairs, it’s already giving you face to let you leave, you’d better be wise.”

Though within the Hundred Beasts, you can challenge for a higher position, the hierarchy is strict, and such orders are not to be defied. Seeing Ace being so clueless, someone already couldn’t stand it.

”First, get them to another place, I’ll handle this here.”

”Yes, big sister Iscariot.”

After the battle ended, they planned to leave with the recruits they had gathered, and Iscariot also asked Ace a question.

”Even if we were really going to do something, what right do you have to stop me? Even like this, do you still want to stand in the way?”

”So what? Some things must be done. Don’t underestimate me, I still have a lot of moves I haven’t used.”

”No move can change the essential gap between you and me. If you want to defeat me, you’d better train in the New World for a year or two first. Someone like you, who doesn’t even know Haki, isn’t qualified to say this.

But you don’t need to worry too much. We’re not human traffickers, we’re just taking them to learn.”

Since Ace stopped the cannonballs, Iscariot explained a couple of sentences to him.

”If you’re not reassured, you can come along; how about it, want to join us? With you, Lord Arceus and Lord Kaidou probably wouldn’t object.”

Arceus values character, Kaidou only looks at strength. In either aspect, for the time being, Ace seems qualified.

Even though he’s not a Zoan, being a Super Rookie, he meets Kaidou’s recruitment criteria, and his meddling nature can barely be considered good-hearted.

Recruiting new members is a consistent habit among major pirate groups, and Iscariot has the authority to suggest as well.

Ace was a bit taken aback by the sudden mention of himself; it was the first time he had heard such words.

Before he could respond, some of the Navy stood back up.

”Rami!!”

”Ah! Sorry, sister Iscariot, I got the dosage wrong, these few have quite resilient constitutions.”

Watching the standing Navy, Rami repeated her previous actions; she hadn’t used a lethal dose of poison. If Queen had come here, none of these Navy would have survived, for he would definitely not hold back.

Rami and Iscariot are different; they don’t like killing people, after all, Rami’s ability allows them to quickly subdue opponents.

This is the case for these Naval officers; after a period of paralysis, they returned to normal.

A waste of talent, that’s Queen’s opinion of Rami. In Queen’s view, Rami hasn’t mastered the essence of her ability, and various concerns prevent her from showing the full strength of that ability.

And this strange situation also made Ace believe their words. There should be an essential difference between these people and human traffickers, who wouldn’t spare enemies.

”Kid, are you still hesitating? This is an invitation from the Hundred Beasts. Do you know how many pirates want to borrow this flag but aren’t qualified? Become our affiliate, and you won’t have to fear anything in the New World.”

”The New World is different from Paradise. It’s hard to survive there without backing, you’d better think it through.”

Seeing Ace still not responding, a few people around began voicing their opinions, but Ace didn’t seem interested.

”Well, sorry, I don’t want to join anyone. Whether it’s Kaidou or Whitebeard, they’re just obstacles on my path, and I’m going to take them all down!”

The air became silent for a moment. A few pirates from the Hundred Beasts incredulously patted their ears, but when they recalled they were at Shampodi, it all made sense.

”Pft... hahaha... sorry, that’s too funny, I couldn’t hold it, continue...”

Rami walked to the side, covering her mouth, but her laughter started a chain reaction, and the surrounding pirates began laughing too, with a hint of disdain in their eyes.

”Interesting, so you’re going to challenge Mr. Kaidou?”

”No, as planned, I’ll first visit Shanks, then challenge Whitebeard. As for Kaidou, I’ll deal with him after I defeat Whitebeard.”

Hearing Ace’s grand ambition, Iscariot blinked in slight astonishment. The four emperors of the New World, he’s almost taking them on single-handedly.

”Anything could happen in your dreams, but you can’t even beat me; where do you get the courage to challenge Mr. Kaidou?”

”I said don’t underestimate me, if you don’t believe it, find a spacious place, that’s just part of my power...”

”Not interested, but I look forward to seeing you challenge Mr. Kaidou. By the way, do you know how to mine?”

”No, why do you ask?”

”Because I think you have the potential to become the best miner of the year, good luck getting to our territory alive, by that day, I’ll recommend you to Mr. Kaidou.”

Iscariot didn’t explain what a miner meant, and she turned to leave with her people.

Rookies with big dreams like this can’t be persuaded. Before they hit a wall themselves, they’ll never admit defeat.

So Iscariot felt she couldn’t persuade him with words, and if a Logia-type ability user really went all out, the destruction would be massive. Her main task wasn’t recruiting such people anyway, and seeing the goodwill rejected, naturally, she lost interest.

Ace didn’t know that within the mines of Wano Kuni, there were many rebellious individuals locked up, all young people with big dreams just like him. This is also a distinction between the Sea Emperors.

Challenge Charlotte Linlin, and there’s a small chance you might become her son-in-law, but more likely have your lifespan taken.

Challenge Shanks, and you’ll generally lose some parts, usually the left hand. If he thinks highly of you, he might just hold a banquet and send you off.

Challenge Whitebeard, and if you don’t appeal to him, you’re handed over to the Navy for ransom, if he does, he might make you his son.

Challenge Kaidou, and you’re thrown into the mines for labor reform, either join or work to death.

That’s the outcome of failing the challenge, and as for succeeding? That’s a joke; these four monsters aren’t something newbies without a halo can defeat.

...

After wrapping up today’s chaos, Ace and Dues returned to their ship and shared the day’s experiences with their companions.

”Boss Ace, it might not be appropriate to say this, but... you should understand the difference in strength.”

Hearing Ace’s recounting, Scar pondered for a moment before speaking up.

”What’s up?”

”Those two women... should have something like numbers or patterns on them, right?”

”Hmm... That poison user didn’t, but the leader’s clothes seemed to have a seven. Why?”

”That’s the way the Hundred Beasts Pirates indicate strength. They fight among themselves to determine their status. If she’s a seven, it means there are at least six stronger than her. Boss Ace, do you understand what that means?”
