Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 819: Chapter 818: Snover and Yamato’s Limited-Time Nun

Snover, the Frost Tree Pokemon, was created by Arceus using the Meadow Plate, currently serving as a mountain rescue worker.

Its upper body is as pure white as snow, while its lower body resembles the brown of a tree trunk, and its arms are structured like green pine needles.

Like Tropius, it is a Pokemon that nurtures special fruits on its body. However, the fruits on Snover differ greatly from ordinary fruits. Tropius’ banana Queen has successfully cultivated degraded versions of the plants through various scientific means, achieving mass production.

But Snover’s fruits are different; these rare fruits can only grow on Snover, and have a strong seasonal nature, appearing only in spring.

They taste like ice pops, recognized as delicious by Queen and Charlotte Linlin.

Snover has a gentle nature, sometimes staying motionless like a tree stump, absorbing the cold and moisture from the accumulated snow through its roots, showing a keen interest in humans.

In the world of Pokemon, when Snover discovers human footprints, it follows them to find human traces. Sometimes it mistakenly enters human villages, but there’s no need to fear; they usually become good friends with children.

Snover typically doesn’t leave the snowy mountains. In most cases, only those climbing Vine Mountain have the chance to taste these fruits, and Drake just happened to be passing by.

While communicating with Snover, Kozuki Hiyori almost slipped off the mountain side, but at that moment, plant-like roots suddenly appeared nearby, firmly grasping her.

This wasn’t a vine whip, but rooting, even though Snover is a member of grass-type Pokemon, it doesn’t use vine whip but replaces it with this method.

Like tendrils, these roots brought her back to a safe place, yet Snover did not appear; even Kozuki Hiyori only saw a white shadow disappearing into the snowy mountains.

This did not deter Kozuki Hiyori. After adjusting her state, she continued climbing to the mountaintop, only to find the scene was vastly different from what she imagined.

The air here contrasted sharply with before. Before reaching the top, the cold air was a challenge to the respiratory system, but after reaching the summit, the pain brought by the cold vanished. In just a few breaths, the fatigue of climbing disappeared.

In the distance, a shrine made of giant stones and a path paved with pink diamonds could be seen, reflecting light from the frozen lake surface.

Within the shrine, the legendary Holy Spring is visible, and although the outside world is a flurry of snow, inside the shrine is a scene of spring warmth and blooming flowers. Everything seems fine except one person inside appears quite leisurely as if on vacation.

...

”Yamato, someone’s coming.”

”How can that be? I checked with Sister Misu, and no one plans to make a pilgrimage here in the next few days. That idiot dad won’t think of me being here. Let me relax a bit.”

On a beach chair, Yamato lay leisurely, holding a bucket of milkshake provided by Bounsweet in her left hand, occasionally taking out snacks from a cloud bag with her right hand, appearing very carefree.

This is her newly discovered temporary sanctuary, effectively avoiding Kaidou’s harassment, and the environment is very comfortable for her.

Although it looks like a scene of spring warmth and blooming flowers, in reality, the temperature remains very low. Only due to Arceus’ power, plants can grow, and the Holy Spring doesn’t freeze over.

But her ability makes her undaunted by the cold; this temperature is no different from a seaside sunbath.

”Just look for yourself. By the way, I will still report your recent actions to the Lord.”

In mid-air, Diancie condensed a few large diamond plates, reflecting Kozuki Hiyori’s image to Yamato.

”Ice Realm!”

Watching the reflected image on the diamonds, Yamato jumped up, slapped the ground with one hand, and a solid ice wall rose up, blocking Kozuki Hiyori’s view.

In less than a minute, this ice wall shattered again, with the vacationing person gone, while everything else remained unchanged.

The events happened quickly, leaving Kozuki Hiyori incredulous, rubbing her eyes, thinking she had experienced an illusion. Now, before her was a serious-looking Yamato, not the vacationing Yamato.

”Pilgrim, you have proven your perseverance. Why have you come here?”

At this moment, Yamato produced a set of robes identical to Sister Misu’s from somewhere and donned them, speaking seriously, though even Diancie behind her couldn’t help but laugh.

It’s rare to see Yamato feigning seriousness, completely out of character.

”Stop laughing! Help me remember how those people used to say it!”

Listening to Diancie’s stifled laughter, Yamato quietly asked, yet in Kozuki Hiyori’s eyes, Yamato’s mouth remained unmoved; this was a ventriloquist trick not difficult for someone of Yamato’s level.

With Diancie’s help, she temporarily acted as a nun of the Arceus Sect, completing religious procedures with Kozuki Hiyori, misleading her successfully.

The subsequent matters were handled by professional nuns stationed at the shrine. Over the years, Misu found a few reliable personnel amongst believers, and the person in charge here was the best among them, hence granting this honor.

...

”Diancie, you did it on purpose, right? You must have discovered her long ago!”

”No, and your Observation Haki didn’t detect her either.”

”Who keeps using Observation Haki all the time? I’m not Uncle Queen, you definitely did it deliberately.”

”I didn’t; you should get back to business. You said you wanted to train yourself, so I came along.”

”Got it, I was just adjusting my state.”

She came here with a purpose. Simply avoiding Kaidou should make her choose to go to the sea, but arriving here also serves another purpose: continuing the trial of the black-and-white dragons.

The battle with the Golden Lion made her realize the immense power hidden within Zekrom and Reshiram. The current Hundred Beasts isn’t what she wants to see. To achieve her dreams, defeating Kaidou is necessary, thus power becomes indispensable.

With age, Arceus altered this special Trial Space, offering her more chances to challenge herself.

Setting up her deck chair, Yamato reclined again in the stone circle, while familiar voices rang in her ears.

[Reshiram and Zekrom were once one entity, assisting heroic brothers in establishing the Unova Region. Yet, due to a divergence in the heroes’ beliefs, the dragons divided into two.

The twin dragons became thoroughly disillusioned by the heroes’ war, wanting to destroy Unova.
