Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 838: Chapter 837: Last Stand and the Revolutionary Army

Religious faith is something outsiders cannot comprehend; ordinary believers might only seek benefits or psychological comfort, but for these fanatics, faith has become something greater than their own lives.

In daily life, they are extremely kind, but once a taboo is breached, they may turn into a group of madmen.

If someone with intentions exploits this, it could lead to immeasurable consequences.

But that is the case for ordinary religions outside; for a religion where the True God truly exists, such things would not happen.

Ordinarily, Arceus does not bother with the matters of the Arceus Sect, but this does not mean he ignores everything. The things on the Holy Mountain are manifestations of his power, and for those willing to dedicate themselves, he gives them the things they need.

However, if outsiders impersonate his name to do things he abhors, they will understand what divine wrath means.

Due to the limit of their talents, this group focuses more on cooperation rather than single combat, so they acquired the special Pokemon known as Falinks.

Besides Falinks, there is also Tandemaus, but this Pokemon’s appearance is not as impressive as the armor of Falinks.

A group of knights clad in golden armor is much more palatable compared to the rat-men.

After passing the assessment, this Knight Order embarked on their own journey, heading towards the First Half of the Grand Line.

Due to the presence of the Windless Zone and the Red Earth Continent, the Four Seas, Paradise, and the New World remain relatively independent; without the accompaniment of high-level officials like Shaina, the First Half of the Grand Line is the most suitable stage for them.

The nun’s combat strength isn’t particularly outstanding, but by her side is Tiger; having a new goal, Tiger’s combat power is continuously improving, making him the strongest Fishman on Fishman Island, even a notch above Jinbe.

This special team has sufficient self-defense capabilities, but the way they decide on their destination...

”Sister, are you sure this is okay?”

On the wall hung a nautical chart of the First Half of the Grand Line, and the nun was holding a slightly aged dart, deciding the destination through a kind of blind choice.

”It’s fine, this is tradition. This dart was used by Lady Yamato back then. It’s said that the Lord once decided on islands to explore in this way, blessed by the Lord’s glory.”

With no clues, they relied on luck; this was the initial way to decide which island to explore, but as this process was deified and fermented, it gradually became a kind of tradition.

”Alright, it looks like our destination is decided, time to set off. Lord Tiger, we may have to rely on you more for battle; these children haven’t experienced much real combat.”

”Leave it to me, I will clear the obstacles on the road.”

The ship bearing the Thousand Cosmos Bracelet left Ghost Island. Although it did not carry the Pirate Flag, most forces already equated the Thousand Cosmos Bracelet with Kaidou’s Skull Flag.

They all knew it was a unique emblem within the Hundred Beasts Pirate crew.

However, most ordinary people didn’t understand this detail; for them, the Thousand Cosmos Bracelet did not evoke the inherent fear that the Pirate Flag did.

Spreading the Lord’s gospel is this team’s main goal.

Besides the thirty-member Knight Order, there was a medical team accompanying them, some skilled in agriculture and water management, plus ordinary crew members, exceeding a typical pirate crew and rivaling the full capacity of a large battleship.

Their actions along the way were very peculiar: clearing pirates, maintaining the order of certain islands, helping sick residents, and then preaching.

Though the methods differ, they generally aim to help others, causing some forces to be unclear about what exactly the Hundred Beasts want to do.

...

”Second team, third team, disperse the enemies! Fourth team, rescue the townspeople! Fifth team, stay ready to respond to sudden changes, first team, with me! Take down those pirate captains!”

”Fight with our backs against the wall!”

The leading Falinks issued a new combat directive, and at that moment, his body, along with the five members behind him, radiated a flash of light, as did the armor on their bodies.

This is the exclusive move of Falinks; it boosts both offense and defense, and speed while fighting with their backs against the wall, but this skill has a side effect.

After executing the back-against-the-wall move, an intense fighting spirit will fill their hearts, and their bodies will not execute a retreat command.

Either the enemy dies, or I perish—that is the effect of the fight with their backs against the wall.

Due to Falinks’ characteristics, commands are broadcast through the helmet crest, making the efficiency very high, and even on a battlefield riddled with artillery, orders are clearly heard.

The five squads each had their assignments, launching attacks against the pirates plundering the town.

For more prosperous targets, some pirates temporarily form alliances, and this Knight Order faced such a situation, but against a squad full of empowered individuals, they remained powerless.

Kaidou’s dream is an army of empowered individuals; though he has many ”mythical beast types” under him, they are scattered across various territories, performing their tasks in groups of two or three.

A large-scale battle gathering like this had never happened before.

Though Falinks is a Fighting Type Pokemon, the armor accompanying its body is extremely solid. Plus, all thirty members have undergone Rokushiki training; not all are proficient, but based on their strengths, each mastered at least one technique.

”Captain! Monsters! They are all monsters!”

”It’s useless, slashing with swords doesn’t work, shooting doesn’t work, even cannons aren’t effective against them, these aren’t foes we can handle!”

The edge of the shield and the protruding point in the center are Falinks’ weapons; these Shield Warriors cut through the disorganized pirates like tigers among sheep.

After taking over the town, the temporary structures set up to fend off possible Navy sieges were completely ineffective.

If not for protecting the townspeople, they could have dealt with these pirates even more swiftly.

The captains also didn’t have time to deal with them, as they still had to face the first squad in their back-against-the-wall state, and mysteriously, in the middle of the battle, the townspeople who previously fled returned.

This time they did not flee; sticks, hoes, stones—all became their weapons, further exacerbating the already challenging fight for the pirates.

What they did made the rescuing fourth team puzzled; it was their first time encountering townspeople with such high spirits. But with such courage, why did they flee earlier?

”Lord Tiger, does this seem off?”

”It is indeed off, it should be the work of an empowered individual... looks like it’s the Revolutionary Army...”
