Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 687: Chapter 686: Queen Saving Himself Through Ultimate Science

After being knocked flying for who knows how many times, Queen’s patience finally reached its limit.

”Big bro Kaidou, is it over yet?”

”No, something still feels off, it’s always just a bit lacking. Get up, Queen, and let’s train again.”

A father’s love is like a mountain collapsing, while the filial son is like a torrential rain. Internally, this is a gentle mode. Garp claims that when he crushes Luffy every day, it’s the Iron Fist of Love, but he wouldn’t say the same when hitting outsiders. To outsiders, it’s more like the Mountain Collapse Hakken.

But for some reason, this mode seems to be exclusive for Yamato. When fighting outsiders, Kaidou always feels something is missing. Blissey’s egg is one aspect, but that opportunity has always eluded Kaidou.

To master the new way of fighting quickly, he began honing his subordinates, creating a hellish win-win scenario.

”...Big bro Kaidou, don’t you want to switch training partners? How about trying King over there?”

Pointing at King, who was floating in the air with arms crossed, Queen tried to divert the focus, but he failed.

”No need, you’re tougher and recover faster. You’re still far from your limit. I’ll give you ten seconds; if you’re not ready to defend, I’ll come at you directly!”

King was also a target for his sparring. A mode isn’t prepared for just one opponent, he can’t re-establish mode with every opponent.

But now Kaidou thinks it’s more appropriate to practice with Queen first before switching targets.

Under Kaidou’s coercion, Queen had to get back up again to prepare for a new crisis, the result was clear; despite Kaidou intentionally feeding him moves and setting a whole seabed, Queen was gloriously defeated.

”Strange, still a little short...”

”Big bro Kaidou, I watched the previous Ghost Island recordings; it seems you first entered the Drunk Dragon Hakke mode before that state emerged.

Now without drinking, you want to skip this step directly, isn’t it a bit too advanced?”

King was watching the whole battle from above like a god, his strength might not be equal to Kaidou, but his insight was sharp.

Sometimes a bystander’s perspective, a god’s-eye view, can better identify the problem.

”I don’t really want to rely on external forces, let’s try again.”

Kaidou truly didn’t want to rely on external forces; Drunk Dragon Hakke needed that tipsy feeling found by drinking. While drinking on the battlefield was initially for courage, it became a habit.

But now, courage isn’t something he needs.

Plus, there’s another issue; breaking the wine gourd after drinking feels like a cool act to him, but eating eggs doesn’t work the same way.

He can’t just peel an egg in front of everyone when entering the mode, right? Eating it with the shell would be even zanier.

He must push through himself to find a steady way.

”Big bro Kaidou, I think you should take it step by step, start with the Drunk Dragon Hakke first.”

With that, King handed over Kaidou’s wine jug. Seeing all this, Queen’s eyes almost shattered his own sunglasses. King, that devious guy, he was sure King had ulterior motives in coaxing Kaidou to practice using Drunk Dragon Hakke.

He wasn’t wrong; practicing this way was beneficial, but Kaidou just wanted to skip the process, otherwise, he would’ve drunk already.

The problem was that Kaidou, after drinking a bit, would get too high, and letting him enter the Drunk Dragon Hakke mode meant Queen getting thoroughly beaten?

”Big bro Kaidou! I think this is a great practice; don’t listen to that interrogation pervert’s nonsense!”

”What, you useless thing, now you want to hold back big bro Kaidou?”

”Who are you calling useless? Try saying that again!”

”Whoever can’t beat me is, want to try again?”

King and Queen remained in this state; unless there’s an external enemy, they constantly bickered and tricked each other — mostly, it was King messing with Queen, and Queen couldn’t really do much about it.

”...If you’re so enthusiastic, why don’t you go ahead!”

They tried not long ago; the Lunarians’ durable health bars left Queen feeling despair. In the end, he still lost; with Kaidou’s sparring being relentless yet physical, this state made him switch strategies.

This thought process had no issues; the problem was he forgot one thing.

”I wouldn’t mind, but big bro Kaidou specifically chose you.”

”.....”

Even through his mask, Queen felt he could see King’s teasing smile beneath, and Kaidou had already proved his point with action.

Splat!

The sound of smashed pottery echoed in his ears; the meaning was abundantly clear.

”Queen, still quarreling, seems you’ve recovered quite well, keep it up. I think your movements have slowed since before! Thundering...Hakken!”

Under the Drunk Dragon Hakke mode, Kaidou, with slight repression, launched the Thundering Hakken once again...

After a slightly painful battle, Queen and King both lay on the ground defeated. After Queen exhausted his strength, King joined the sparring line. Neither Tropius’ dirty tactics nor the Lunarians Race’s robust endurance solved Kaidou in the end.

A boar wagon pulled the two back to their resting place in the Flower Capital, while Kaidou flew back to Ghost Island, continuing his hangover journey. If he didn’t need to find mode from others outside of Yamato, he’d have dragged Yamato to train.

Olga wasn’t the type for brute force; next, he planned to try Shaina and Zeraora.

These days continued, and Queen, using various little tricks, finally convinced Blissey to get a Blissey egg.

”Hmph, let’s see what’s so special about this egg.”

At heart, Queen was still a scholar. In research, he was the leader of the Hundred Beasts. He even called in Asie, determined to get to the bottom of it.

And the final result was unsuccessful: it was an egg extremely rich in nutrients; beyond that, they discovered nothing.

”Brother Queen, how about...asking those people from Little Sky Island? They’ve recently switched to Pokemon researchers and should have more insight on this stuff.”

”Pokemon...you reminded me, why ask those guys when I can inquire from Lord Arceus.”

The Sky Island paleontologists switched fields out of interest. Through their research, they indeed summarized some Pokemon life habits, but for Pokemon, Arceus is the one who knows them best.

To escape Kaidou’s torment sooner, Queen left his lab immediately. Once he mastered that, he would lose interest in these matters, and as for who gets tortured next, as long as it’s not him, he doesn’t care.
