Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 667: Chapter 666: Curtain Falls

The Golden Lion is the enemy, so Zekrom certainly doesn’t hold back its power. Without its assistance, using Bolt Strike and Freeze Shock directly wouldn’t be so easy.

But she hasn’t gained Zekrom’s recognition yet. This time, it just found her pleasing and lent her its power temporarily.

Unlike the modified Okuchi no Makami, this power is not permanent; naturally, after the battle ends, Zekrom returns to its original space.

As for Kaidou? He couldn’t care less about meddling in father-daughter issues.

If she truly became the ideal Hero, Zekrom would stand by Yamato even if the father-daughter relationship breaks, but the current situation doesn’t meet those conditions.

”Zekrom?!”

After several calls without a response, Yamato understood what had happened and immediately deactivated the ability, lying weakly on the ground.

”Ah, that old lion is quite fierce. It seems I’ve been hurt quite badly...”

She couldn’t figure out Kaidou’s current limits, but she could do simple calculations: the Golden Lion and Whitebeard were rulers of the same era, and even with two legs missing and a ship’s helm stuck in his head, the Golden Lion was evidently not on par with the still vigorous Whitebeard.

Kaidou fought that mode of Whitebeard for five days; no matter how you think about it, he’s deadlier than the Golden Lion, and over the years, she was indeed shaped by Kaidou.

Even at full strength, she couldn’t handle this Kaidou, let alone now, so she straightforwardly chose to lie flat.

Zekrom’s ”retreat” disrupted her entire plan. She originally wanted to use that power for Kaidou to truly understand her painful experiences over the years, then try it out with Queen, as the power of Freeze Shock should be able to resolve Queen’s disgusting tactics.

But now, she’s decided to face Kaidou by surrendering.

She has just gone through a major battle, which is a very reasonable excuse.

”Hurt badly?”

”Yeah, look here and here, the old lion’s slashes are still quite painful.”

She is somewhat dissatisfied with her body’s recovery speed, as most of the sword wounds left by the Golden Lion have already started to heal, now she can only use the remaining bloodstains as proof.

Kaidou sized her up once more, and she guessed correctly. If she truly enters a weak phase, Kaidou wouldn’t force a fight with her at this moment, but she also underestimated Kaidou’s obsession with battle.

He lingered on the cloud cover for several days, just watching without interfering. For him, this was already torturous, and looking closely, you’d discover some traces of battle on Kaidou too.

This is the result of him staying in the thunderclouds; Zekrom directly gave him electric therapy, but he could guarantee that wanting to battle Yamato had nothing to do with it.

Just as Yamato thought Kaidou was about to give up, he suddenly threw a bundle over.

”What?”

”Why don’t you look for yourself?”

Kaidou’s tone didn’t change much, but as he spoke, he had already emptied the wine in his flask.

Taking the items Kaidou threw over, Yamato’s expression gradually twisted—she knew all too well what those dried herbs were.

”Resurrection Grass?! Is this how it’s supposed to be used?!”

If the Golden Lion had persisted a little longer, she planned to use the Resurrection Grass. Only, his own vitality decreased too much, unable to hang on anymore.

Since this thing was distributed, its usage rate has been consistently low, and she couldn’t have imagined Kaidou would toss her a Resurrection Grass at this moment.

”When fighting to the limit you can use this to replenish energy, your foster father should have mentioned it to you, right?”

”That battle and this one mean the same thing! You also have a limit when you drink too much!”

”Aren’t you still pretty spirited?”

”Ah really.....”

”Watch closely, Thundering Hakken, this is how it’s used!”

.....

Boom! Boom!

When Jack and Maria arrived here again, what they saw was Yamato and Kaidou in combat, and this commotion was comparable to the previous battle between the Golden Lion and Yamato.

”You directly summoned Master Kaidou here?”

”Impossible, I don’t have that ability, probably Lord Arceus arranged it. Now I understand why nobody answered the call for help.”

Reflecting on the ease of their departure from Ghost Island, it’s likely that all of this was planned.

”Then now we?”

”We wait, once brother Kaidou is satisfied with the combat, it will end.”

The scene is brutal, but the two have long been used to it. As Yamato grew older, their battles became more and more terrifying.

As for intervening in the fight? At times like this, doing so would only get them included as Kaidou’s attack targets, which they definitely don’t want.

Under Kaidou’s threats and bribes, Yamato still got back into the spirit and began the battle on the condition that Kaidou smooths the island onto the sea instead of simply dropping it.

The island’s residents had fled earlier; they were rare members of the Winged Race, which can fly innately. If it weren’t for the Golden Lion, they would’ve left long ago.

Now, they’ve embarked on the journey to find a new home. There are many islands on the sea; they can certainly find a more suitable place to live.

Even though there are no people left, there are still many normal beasts, and dropping such a large island would also harm some fish and shrimp, which is not good.

The Golden Lion’s ultimate dream didn’t succeed; as a Legendary Great Pirate, his downfall was not luxurious.

He was the first one to fall under the Divine Beast Power he gave to others, but this downfall had no audience, and the agents of the World Government and the reporters from the World Economic News Agency are not godly omnipresent.

This place is the Sky Island crafted by the Golden Lion, isolated from the world, with no cameramen capturing the scene.

Without deliberate promotion by the Hundred Beasts, no one knows the Golden Lion has fallen. In most people’s minds, the Golden Lion has long disappeared.

A lonely grave appeared on the island, with Kogarashi and Oto crossed over the tomb; this was Kaidou giving Golden Lion a final dignity, rather than leaving him exposed in the wild.

Kogarashi and Oto are Famed Swords, but nobody in Hundred Beasts is accustomed to using double blades like them, so they temporarily remain here. With Hundred Beasts’ current military production capabilities, they don’t need to fixate on those two swords.

After the battle ended, Kaidou still wasn’t satisfied and left like a drunken rage, looking for new unlucky targets, while Yamato, having dealt with her injuries, took her Corviknight back to Ghost Island.

The beasts were left on the island, while all IQ plants cultivated by Golden Lion were destroyed.

In this battle, she sustained fifteen sword wounds, countless abrasions, and one blunt injury. The blunt injury was quite severe, but it was caused by Kaidou, not the Golden Lion.
