Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 673: Chapter 672: Crescent Moon Hunter - Catarina Devon

”Olga, big sis, aren’t you getting a bit too good at this...”

At this moment, both Mandfeish’s ship and the Shadow Fox disappeared into The Sea, entering a sort of invisibility mode. When you’re fishing, if you don’t hide the hook well, those big fish are hard to catch.

Watching the crew on the Shadow Fox skillfully take their positions, Mandfeish felt he had misunderstood something. He used to think Olga was one of the more normal ones among the high-level officials, but now it seemed her fondness for the peculiar was quite high.

”Huh? You don’t interact much with those human traffickers; those guys are sly. Without some tricks, you might not catch them.”

Over the years, she’s had her share of battles of wits and strength with this group, and fishing enforcement was just the most basic technique.

”But Olga, big sis, this might not catch the traffickers...”

”Yeah, but when you’re fishing, would you focus on catching just one fish? Whoever bites is unfortunate; such guys never kill the wrong one. If you’re in a rush, you can head over first. I’ll send these two little ones to you in a few days.”

Fishing is a test of patience. Olga didn’t think throwing the bait would immediately get a bite.

”Alright, I’ll leave it to you, big sis...”

Before Mandfeish could finish speaking, a pirate ship appeared nearby, seemingly spotting the bait they had set out and started moving towards them.

”Looks like you can wait a bit longer. Hey! You two kids, do your best!”

Olga shouted to the two below the ship’s side. Although nothing could be seen on The Sea, the siblings were close enough to the Shadow Fox that, with good hearing, they could even hear what was being said.

Currently on a small boat, Ulti and Page One couldn’t see where the Shadow Fox was, but they could hear Olga’s message.

For Page One, seeing the target appear so quickly was a delight. He was even more eager than Ulti to finish the voyage soon because he, too, had been dressed in women’s clothing.

This was Olga’s peculiar taste; she thought girls were more suitable as bait, so she directly dressed Page One in a set of female clothes.

From the same family, with a bit of dressing up, Page One also looked like a ”handsome girl.” As the saying goes, if a man can’t achieve anything, he might consider dressing as a woman to wreak havoc, and Page One had a face that fit the criteria.

Plus, he was also growing his hair long, and after some adjustments, they became a sister duo.

”Help! Help!”

Page One, pinching his voice, waved his arms towards the approaching pirate ship, wanting to end this suffering soon.

”Little Pei, don’t try so hard. Isn’t this pretty leisurely, and it’s the first time I found out you look so fitting in a dress.”

”You shut up! And whose fault do you think all this is caused by!”

”Sob... Little Pei, you’re being mean to me!”

Seeing Ulti’s fake tears, a trace of a smile appeared on Page One’s lips; he had already guessed Ulti would react like this. A fake crying sister fitted the image better at this time.

At this point, the pirate ship was getting closer to them.

.....

On the Grand Line, the chances of maritime accidents are quite high. Seeing unidentified floating objects on The Sea, many pirates have the habit of checking them out; if luck’s on their side, they could reel in a batch of treasure.

The approaching pirate ship had the same thought process. As they drew nearer, the pirate flag on the ship became more distinct.

”Page One really has a knack for this. Has he decided where to go next? I think he’s quite suited for this bait gig.”

”Not yet, but Jack seems quite eager to pull Page One into his fleet.”

”Really, they do get along well. Any idea which pirate is it on the other side?”

”Got it, big sis, it’s... This year’s Super Rookie, Crescent Moon Hunter - Catarina Devon, bounty 390 million Belly... Quite a hefty amount...”

The pirate next to her found the information about the other side from a stack of wanted posters and slightly sighed at the hefty bounty.

A bounty of this magnitude ranks within the cadre level among pirate crews in the New World. A pirate who has just traversed the first half of their journey reaching this bounty is an exceptionally rare villain, a leader in terms of strength among their contemporaries.

There are very few pirates daring enough to attack Judicial Island; without such a feat, it’s rare for someone to have a bounty over three hundred million; such beings are uncommon monsters.

”390 million? Quite an impressive rookie, hope she’s sensible.”

In the course of hunting human traffickers, Olga also did other things, such as recruiting new members for their pirate crew or exchanging these people for money.

Pirate battles don’t always result in death or submission; if a rival is respected, they might be buried, but most of the time, they don’t waste the bounty on another pirate.

This is common practice in the Sea Emperor’s territory in the New World; at least half of the pirates who come provoking are handed over to the Navy for money. There are underground merchants in the New World who make a living out of this.

Since pirates can’t walk into a Navy Base themselves to cash bounties, it leaves room for these intermediaries to profit from the difference. Olga takes it further; because of her abilities, she doesn’t even need intermediaries.

Ulti and Page One’s little boat was pulled onto the deck by the opponent, but they didn’t know that just a short distance away, someone had already set their sights on them.

...

”Captain, it’s two very pretty little girls!”

A pirate shouted to the back, emphasizing the word ”pretty” but with a tone of regret, because their captain had a terrible personality in this regard.

She would hunt down females prettier than her, regardless of age. As long as she found them displeasing, any female prettier than her was her target.

The nickname ”Hunter” was partially related to this. Those she hunted had their faces skinned and made into specimens; such vile acts earned her such a high bounty halfway through their journey.

And their own captain’s looks...

It’s not that he lacked confidence; their captain just didn’t give him any reason to be confident. Luckily, ”pretty” was based on her subjective view, and she was quite confident in herself, otherwise, every woman she encountered would have no escape.

That’s also why she kept some women around: she believed those people weren’t prettier than her. To live stably around her, one had to admire her from the perspective that Devon considered herself the most beautiful, satisfying her vanity.

Of course, he would never dare say this to her face, or he would surely be whipped to death.

Having followed a captain like this, they had already figured out her personality. According to her habits, these two little girls were probably in for some bad luck.

”Hmm, let me see, we really did pick up something great...”
