Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 683: Chapter 682: Kaidou’s Gentleness Is More Than You Can Handle

Compared to Chansey, Blissey doesn’t undergo much of a change in shape, maintaining its original egg-shaped body.

Its color is no longer a uniform pink, but rather a pink top and white bottom. It has some curled hair on its head, small white wings on its shoulders, and a feather-like structure around its waist.

Blissey is kind-hearted, renowned as a Pokemon that brings happiness. It’s said that only a Chansey that shares a telepathic bond with its Trainer can evolve, which is the main reason it hasn’t evolved until now.

In Chansey’s mind, Yamato wasn’t really a Trainer but more like a daughter. As Yamato grew, this perception began to change, triggering their evolution condition.

For both Chansey and Blissey, the egg on their chests is of utmost importance. Chansey’s egg is nutritious, and the evolved Blissey’s egg is said to be a miraculous egg filled with happiness.

Not only is it exceptionally delicious, but there’s also a rumor that even a single bite of Blissey’s egg can make anyone gentle and kind, no matter how violent the Pokemon, and it has the same effect on humans.

Due to the eggs’ preciousness, Chansey faced extinction waves in the Pokemon World a few times until the Joy Clan’s emergence stabilized this Pokemon’s status.

Their eggs aren’t something anyone can take, and it’s not surprising that Yamato can get them. What’s strange is why she needs so many eggs.

”Happy~”

”Really, she didn’t tell you? Forget it, just go about your business, I’ll go see what she’s up to.”

”Happy~”

Blissey departed one after another to tend to their own matters. In Wano Kuni, they hold the position of head nurses and also act as old caretakers who have raised the young lady, hiding special strength beneath their cute appearance, along with a high status.

Their most common task is to comfort others. Their fluffy fur acts as sensors, capturing the emotions of Pokemon and humans. They’re particularly sensitive to feelings of sadness, and the cries of children and Pokemon are highly likely to attract them.

...

At this time, in the cafeteria on Ghost Island, the chefs looked a bit flustered.

”Ghost Princess, it’s dangerous, the fire is too big!!”

Yamato was stir-frying something on the stove, and as the flames leaped into the air, the surrounding chefs were all warning her of the danger.

But this danger was unique; rather than worrying about Yamato, they were more concerned about themselves.

The equipment on Ghost Island was well-developed, and the gas produced by Weezing wasn’t just for Queen’s research; some of it was compressed into liquefied gas.

Watching Yamato’s operation, they were worried she might blow up the gas tank. With Yamato’s current abilities, even if it were a powder keg instead of a gas tank, she wouldn’t be harmed, but they wouldn’t be so lucky.

They were just ordinary chefs drawn by high salaries, not warriors who could wield knives and head to the battlefield; their bodies were still very vulnerable.

If the place really blew up, they’d be the ones most hurt.

As for why they didn’t stay away....

They were chefs; this was their kitchen where they strove to reduce accidents, not just sit back and watch it blow up.

”Relax, relax, it won’t be a problem, it’s almost done!”

Nearby, several eggshells were placed, matching the size of Blissey’s eggshells, which Yamato was currently processing.

Egg dishes are the most basic thing; as long as there isn’t some culinary disaster buff, most people can handle them well, and for Yamato, as long as it’s not academic subjects, the problem isn’t too big.

If the surrounding chefs were to handle it, they could do it in no time, but Yamato insisted on doing it herself, so they could only comply. Now, seeing that large plate of scrambled eggs and the turned-off stove, they breathed a sigh of relief.

This young lady wasn’t just some useless damsel; she was quite capable.

”This one, and this one... are you sure these go well with alcohol?”

”I’m sure, Ghost Princess, this is how we make side dishes for alcohol back in my hometown.”

”Okay then, let’s do it, is the alcohol I requested ready?”

”It’s ready, right here.”

”Feel free to do as you like with the rest, I’ll leave you in peace.”

Yamato left the kitchen with the eggs and alcohol she prepared, having no interest in dishwashing or cleaning the kitchen; her busy visit to the kitchen had a purpose of its own.

After Yamato left, the chefs returned to their stations, but the chef whose workstation Yamato had occupied curiously examined the egg liquid residue in the bowls and eggshells.

It emitted a very peculiar fragrance, and out of curiosity, he dipped a finger into the residue and put it into his mouth.

As soon as the egg liquid entered, a strange sensation appeared in his heart, causing him to freeze in place.

”Hey, what are you doing? It’s almost time to serve the meal, why are you just standing there?”

A few minutes later, someone next to him noticed his abnormality and patted him on the shoulder to bring him back to his senses.

”So... so happy...”

”Huh??”

”Don’t believe me? Try it yourself.”

Watching the chef raise the leftover egg liquid, another hesitantly took a sip, and soon was enveloped in the same state. On this day, thanks to the leftover egg liquid, the chefs in the kitchen experienced what happiness truly felt like, which was Yamato’s ultimate goal.

Yamato hadn’t gone far, noticing the chefs’ reactions, which instantly bolstered her confidence.

From Blissey, she learned about the magical properties of these eggs; just one bite could induce happiness, and no matter how ferocious a creature, it could become gentle.

To her, Kaidou was the most ferocious creature in the world. If this egg could change his nature... the world would be perfect.

....

”Yamato, what kind of trick are you trying to pull again?”

Looking at his daughter before him, Kaidou sensed something was off. Normally, she couldn’t avoid him fast enough, so how could she actively seek him out?

”Oh, nothing. Look, here’s some alcohol and a side dish I made myself.”

Now Kaidou felt something was even more off; when something is out of the ordinary, there must be something behind it, and Yamato certainly had some scheme he didn’t know about. Yet, he didn’t reject the good gesture.

”Looks... not bad.”

”Of course. Come on, Father, give it a try.”

The presentation was decent, and it looked like human food, so Kaidou didn’t suspect anything. He tossed it all into his mouth in one go, confident that his daughter wouldn’t poison him. Even if she did, his body, immune to toxins, feared nothing.

As the food was consumed, a strange sensation appeared in his heart, abruptly causing Kaidou to pick up a nearby wine jug, drinking deeply from it. Then, under Yamato’s gaze, he suddenly grabbed his Wolf Fang Club.

”Wait, Father, what are you doing?”

”Yamato... you’re too weak as you are now; how can I let you venture out as you are?”

Hearing Kaidou’s words, Yamato thought she succeeded; such caring words were impossible for him to utter. But in the next moment, she realized how utterly mistaken she was.

”So... you need... to get stronger. Let me train you well, Thunder Clap... Hakken!”

”Wah!”

The Wolf Fang Club swung, creating afterimages, and Yamato rolled on the ground twice. In some sense, she succeeded; Blissey’s egg did have a positive effect. However, she made a grave mistake: Kaidou’s understanding of gentleness was entirely different from a normal person’s.
