Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 684: Chapter 683: Godfather, Save Me!

The Hassaikai smashed into the ground, followed by a sweeping strike towards Yamato, lifting half the floorboards and sending them flying towards her like shrapnel from a grenade.

Fortunately, her instinctive reactions against Kaidou were still intact, as she conjured an ice shield with one hand, blocking the flying fragments.

”What are you doing?!! Have you already started to act crazy after drinking just a little?!!”

”Don’t be ridiculous, this little alcohol won’t get me drunk. I’ve just realized I’ve made a mistake; I haven’t cared enough about you.... ugh!”

For Kaidou, food can be skipped, but alcohol not so much; unless under special circumstances, his resting place is akin to a wine cellar.

Picking up a wine jug—more precisely, a massive tub—Kaidou drank the strong liquor heartily, bursting into tears as he drank.

Seeing Kaidou start to cry cast a shadow over Yamato’s heart. That massive jug of wine was indeed considerable, but Kaidou’s physique could clear that alcohol instantly. His drunkenness was a conscious choice, not because he’d hit his limit.

Kaidou’s emotions reflected his state; once he started crying, it meant he was affected.

”Care... care? You call this caring!”

”Yamato, you don’t understand. This is a very dangerous sea. If you’re not strong enough, rather than dying out there, it’s better for you to die by my hand!”

Bang!

The floor had already been overturned, and this time, the blow was aimed at the roof, scattering debris as a massive crater formed on the floor, with gigantic cracks even extending to the adjacent wall.

”You bastard father! Why do I have to die outside!”

”Because you’re too weak! You couldn’t handle Whitebeard, the Navy Headquarters’ assault, that old fool Garp, the Ancient Weapons, or a resurrected Rocks... hic...”

”.....”

Even Yamato was at a loss for words. It started normally, but then even the dead, like Ancient Weapons and Rocks, were mentioned. She couldn’t comprehend what Kaidou was thinking.

”Just act normally! Why would I risk my neck going after those old guys! Besides, after defeating that old lion, didn’t you say you recognized me, and I could do as I pleased!”

”Did I say that?”

”You did say it!”

”I don’t remember. Maybe it was your adopted father who promised you that, it has nothing to do with me. By saying that, why don’t you use that power from back then again?”

Kaidou didn’t continue to attack but instead held the Wolf Fang Club, waiting for Yamato’s next move.

Kaidou’s silence took effect again; after that battle, Zekrom resumed its indifferent attitude towards Yamato, as if Zekrom never existed.

Although Yamato had some changes, able to use some simple thunder powers, summoning Zekrom’s shadow and entering the overclocking state was simply impossible.

”Hughughuhu, I guessed right, you couldn’t achieve that. This way, you’re too weak. You need to hurry up and get stronger to succeed! Hot Breath!”

Kaidou’s ambition was a pure, power-driven chaotic world, thus he liked war, was passionate about battle, and matured on the battlefield with definitions of tenderness entirely different from normal people.

Only those with power have the right to make requests and talk about dreams. In this dangerous world, the weak can’t decide their future; he had more extreme demands for his own daughter.

Although tyrannical, Kaidou was also human with preferences, having favoritism for subordinates he recognized. In the original timeline, upon hearing Doflamingo was captured, Kaidou’s complaint was that Doflamingo was too weak.

But when Jack was defeated, Kaidou didn’t blame him but said the enemy was too strong.

Here with Yamato, his demands were completely different. He gave no chance for Yamato to be ”weak,” insisting his daughter must be strong, even if the goal was to kill him.

Watching the scorching flames approach, Yamato opened her mouth and breathed out freezing air.

”Muji Hyoga!”

Taking hits without retaliating wasn’t Yamato’s trait. Over the years, she evolved from being beaten unilaterally to retaliating adequately; mutual beatings with Kaidou had become routine.

Hot and cold air clashed, ruining decor on the walls, even causing sprinklers inside the hallways to start pouring water.

The aftermath of the attack was significant, but no other pirates were injured as a result due to Ghost Island’s enormous space keeping them out of range. The core structure braced with Arceus Steel wasn’t demolished either.

The most crucial point was, the pirates on Ghost Island had learned from experience; unless a high-level official was nearby, it was better to stay away from Kaidou when he ate or drank.

Note: Except Yamato, when the father and daughter were present together, the aftermath could far exceed the usual.

”Hughughuhu, now that’s more like it! People only truly break through themselves under extreme conditions, but it still falls far short. Drunk Dragon Hakke!”

His body covered in blue Scale Armor, Kaidou had entered his Human-Beast Form. Although his tone carried a hint of disappointment, his Drunk Dragon Hakke was more powerful than Thundering Hakken and accompanied by intense emotional shifts, his post-drinking depression marked its beginning.

”You bastard father, don’t do weird things on a whim! Ice Wolf Hakken!”

No thunder, only extreme cold spreading out; under the influence of ability, Ken 7.0 evolved into an ice-spike-like Wolf Fang Club, with a phantom of an ice wolf in dragon form flying out with Yamato’s weapon swing.

Their weapons didn’t clash, instead, the confrontation began remotely; a high-level usage of Armament Haki, a remote strike that could penetrate surface defenses and cause internal damage, showing both were using their genuine strength.

”Oooh... well done! So how about this move! Wine Dragon Dance·Post-Drinking Wheel Thunder·Hiku Naraku!”

Kaidou’s status shifted from depression to sorrow, his muscles swelling, after a Dragon Dance, Machamp directly bounced Yamato away; then the items attached to the Hassaikai transformed into formidable Supreme King, wrapped in powerful Power of Thunder, smashing head-on towards Yamato ahead.

In this ”tender” mode, the power of Kaidou’s moves escalated rapidly, giving Yamato no time to adapt.

Although Yamato relied on Kyouzan to block the hit, the building on Ghost Island had reached its limit, a massive hole appeared on the floor, and she fell directly to the next level.

”Yamato, can you explain to me what you were doing?”

A shadow enveloped Yamato, and amidst the dust, Arceus appeared before her, giving her a sense of relief.

”Adopted father, please save me, that bastard father has completely lost his mind!”
