Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 655: Chapter 654: The Long-Missing Golden Lion

This year, Yamato is already 20 years old, no longer the little child she was years ago, and now she wants to do what she can.

She overheard the news from outside the door, and even her actions were taken independently.

Seeing Yamato speaking so solemnly, Maria had no intention of staying any longer. After bidding farewell to Setsuna’s family, she followed Yamato to the dock, where she also saw Jack, who was already prepared.

”Why the Mammoth? Yamato, didn’t Lord Arceus prepare a ship for you? Why aren’t you taking your own ship?”

In terms of power, Yamato’s ship is the top-ranked within the Hundred Beasts Pirates, even surpassing the Origin and the Hundred Beasts King in speed.

But now it was Jack’s ship ready to go, which made Maria feel that something was a bit off.

”Oh, don’t mind that detail, let’s hurry up and set off.”

Yamato seemed reluctant to answer this question and instead urged Jack and Maria to board the ship, which quickly left the Hidden Port and headed out to sea.

”Yamato, where exactly are we going to look?”

”Wait, let me see. The place where Corviknight went missing is this group of islands. Many of the surrounding islands aren’t under our control, so let’s start searching this sea area first.”

Yamato took out a nautical chart, full of creases and markings, and quickly pinpointed a general exploration location. Maria felt something was off, but couldn’t quite put her finger on it.

Jack didn’t care about such trivial matters, so the Mammoth continued to sail toward that sea area.

However, Yamato didn’t know that her departure was well known within Ghost Island.

”Lord Sacred Beast, Miss Yamato has already set sail on Jack’s ship, and it’s confirmed that she has that nautical chart in her possession. Is there anything else to keep an eye on?”

Corviknight’s disappearance wasn’t a recent occurrence; it was around the time Sky Island was attacked. Taxi 28 didn’t return, and at the time, no one thought much of it.

Due to the abnormal climate of the Grand Line, Corviknight cannot ensure the stability of the routes. When faced with irresistible factors, they choose to detour or dock at the nearest island until the storm passes before resuming with passengers.

However, several days passed with no information on Taxi 28. When Hundred Beasts tracked the cabin with its locator, they only found the damaged cabin on an island.

Everything else, both people and Corviknight, had vanished, certainly entering a state of disappearance.

Afterward, Hundred Beasts quickly narrowed down the general sea region and conducted some searches, but found no results.

Today, when Shaina reported the current situation, Lord Arceus was slightly angry. Missing Pokemon are not a common occurrence, let alone Corviknight, a taxi-like Pokemon.

Yamato overheard the conversation between Shaina and Arceus by chance and made this decision.

To allow her growth, Arceus and Shaina pretended not to notice Yamato and let her take the nautical chart.

”No need, she’s no longer a child. If she wants to do it, let her, although there seems to be something odd behind this matter.”

Arceus didn’t go personally, but there is a Hundred Beasts expedition team nearby, yet no trace of Corviknight has been found, as if it vanished mysteriously.

No matter who is behind this, it is not a simple matter.

”Understood, Lord Sacred Beast, I’m leaving now. Call me if you need anything.”

After attending to her tasks, Shaina temporarily left, and Arceus dialed a call to Kaidou.

This was why he didn’t personally go searching; Ghost Island needed someone to stay, and with Kaidou not around, Arceus naturally remained there.

...

”Hello, Kaidou.”

”Hmm? What’s up?”

”Any leads on that matter?”

Arceus asked Kaidou directly, as he was roaming outside for a while, it was reasonable to leave this matter to him.

The disappearance of Corviknight wasn’t just a simple matter; it represented the Hundred Beasts, meaning someone was provoking the honor of Hundred Beasts.

”A little bit, but I’m not particularly sure.”

”It doesn’t matter, Yamato is heading to your sea area. Look out for her in secret, but don’t intervene unless necessary.”

”Heh heh heh, that kid is taking initiative now, rest assured, I know my limits, you don’t need to worry about this, focus on other matters.”

After a burst of laughter, Kaidou hung up the phone, giving the other party a sense of reassurance.

But Kaidou’s care is too much for most people; with his personality, as long as a person is not dead and still alive, it’s not considered a big deal. Even knowing there’s such an insurance, Yamato wouldn’t rely on Kaidou.

...

Far from where Corviknight disappeared, in the sky, there was a massive Sky Island.

Unlike typical island-cloud-formed islands, this one looked more like a naturally floating island.

The island hovered in the air due to unknown powers, with waterfalls cascading down.

On the island lived various strange beasts, unsuitable for human habitation, yet even such a place had been occupied by people.

With a strange zip, zip sound in the air, a person dressed like a clown, wearing a scarf, came out.

”Kehehe, Captain Shiki, there’s been a new breakthrough.”

Dr. Indigo, a high-level official of the Flying Sky Pirates and a scientist, has long been with the Golden Lion’s high-level officials.

Years ago, to successfully escape Impel Down, the Golden Lion cut off his feet bound by seastone shackles.

He used the swords Oto and Kogarashi as prosthetic limbs.

After his escape, Shiki came to the New World, discussed future plans with Whitebeard, and then arrived at an island called Vermilion.

Here, the Golden Lion discovered unique plants on the island.

These plants had many edible components, with one named IQ.

For years he hid his whereabouts, researching ”IQ” with his trusted aide Dr. Indigo, residing on a floating island, planning his comeback.

But their plan was fraught with difficulties; although IQ could make beasts more aggressive, it also caused them to lose control, thus not yielding much success.

”What breakthrough?”

”It’s that iron bird; IQ affects it significantly but still within a controllable range.”

A few days ago, they stumbled upon a Corviknight. Compared to pure beasts, these intelligent Pokemon were better suited for it.

This was the reason behind Corviknight’s disappearance; the Golden Lion used his abilities to retain the 28th cabin and began studying the Corviknight that pulled it.
