Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 397: Chapter 396: The Reason for Being Exposed Was Too Dull

”Mandfeish, big brother, haven’t you figured out what to do yet?”

Jack asked Mandfeish, who looked worried, ever since the battle ended that day, things like this have happened from time to time.

Although he was still learning Fishman Karate and Fishman Judo from Hack, his energy was abundant, and the hard training in Hack’s eyes seemed as easy as a holiday to Jack.

Regardless of the combat techniques, physical fitness is the most important, and Jack’s physical fitness had long been honed to abundance by Kaidou.

Moreover, in his childhood, he had some of the things that Yamato enjoyed, although compared to Yamato’s unlimited supply, his had a slight limit.

The physique honed in this way, combined with the reinforcement of Copperajah on the body, was similar to that of Zoan-type Ability Users, even without transforming, there was still a certain reinforcement on the body.

Jack’s physical qualities were stronger than some adult fish-men, so he could directly get to the point, but due to the living environment, he was now experiencing water flows to gradually learn how to use them.

”Jack, it’s adult matters, you wouldn’t understand, but growing up among girls, you probably don’t understand this dilemma either.”

After evolving, Mandfeish rid himself of the awkward situation where his little brother was much taller than him, but it wasn’t too awkward either, as many things within the Hundred Beasts Pirates presented a bipolar state.

Height was similar, with Kaidou leading the tall giants like King, while others like Zeraora and Olga were shorter members.

The genes of this world were strange, so unless in some special occasions, no one cared about height, Jack never thought about it, and he also didn’t find growing up among girls a happy thing.

Almost no one could understand what he felt when he saw Page One.

”Phew, alright Jack, wait for me here, life and death are in fate, wealth is in heaven.”

Saying this, he patted Jack on the head, then knocked on the door and bent down to enter the room, believing Jack had a unique charm with women, intending to borrow some luck from him.

....

”Kaidou... the Second?”

In the room, Rushaka looked confused at Mandfeish’s title on the newspaper he brought.

”Kaidou is.. your father?”

She wasn’t particularly concerned with outside news, so she wasn’t familiar with human affairs, many fish-men and mermaids were like that, although they weren’t isolated like Zou, their communication with the outside world was still very low.

Many kids didn’t understand what land was or what humans were, so their understanding of humans depended on what they saw with their own eyes, which is why some had resistance towards humans.

Otohime’s daily speeches included intentions of educating Fishman Race children about humans and the land.

”No, I don’t know why the World Government people gave me such a title, Kaidou is the Governor of my pirate crew, oh, that means Captain.”

He had already told her he was a pirate, due to the Whitebeard Pirates’ influence, Fishman Island didn’t have much resistance against pirates.

”Captain.. like Uncle Whitebeard?”

”Yeah, but the Governor is surely stronger than Whitebeard, he is definitely the one who will become Pirate King.”

Given Whitebeard’s current status on Fishman Island, he didn’t say anything else, but was confident that Kaidou wouldn’t lose to Whitebeard.

In today’s emperor crews, there’s a kind of personal worship, or rather most pirates have a belief in their captain, and the title of Pirate King is the initial goal for many pirates setting sail.

But whether that goal changes during the journey is uncertain.

Halfway through his words, Mandfeish suddenly paused, which puzzled Rushaka, as he usually couldn’t stop talking, and such silence was unusual.

After a moment of silence, Mandfeish finally decided to get straight to the point.

”Forget it, Rushaka, sorry, there’s something I’ve been lying about.”

As he spoke, Mandfeish turned a page of the newspaper, revealing a comparison of his human and ability user appearances.

”Actually, I’m a human...”

As he said this, the blue scales on his body gradually faded, his form shrank and returned to his original shape.

But Rushaka’s reaction was completely different from what he expected, she wasn’t angry or anything, instead, she laughed outright.

”Hah... Haha, you finally said it?”

”You knew?!?”

”Well, not exactly knew, just felt something was off, you told me you were from Fishman Street and became a pirate a few years after that, right.”

”Yes... that’s correct.”

”But you have no basic fish-man knowledge at all, although I’m not familiar with Fishman Street, how could a fish-man growing up there know nothing.”

Initially, Mandfeish only visited her in passing when going through Fishman Island, bringing novel land things, so there wasn’t a problem.

But as Mandfeish stayed longer on Fishman Island and they spent more time together, some flaws emerged.

”Back then, I felt you weren’t a fish-man, but... I also felt your sincerity at that time, just wanted to see when you’d tell me the truth.”

This sentence from Rushaka had a bit of falsehood, the true situation was that she gave all sorts of hints, if he were part of the Fishman Race, even a block of wood would understand her intentions, but Mandfeish didn’t.

This was similar to humans not understanding the Fur Race’s Caruchiu, about Fur Race’s habits, Zeraora learned little by little from Setsuna.

At that time, Setsuna was very young, and the Fur Race was more innocent, which is why no problems were discovered.

But Rushaka was different, in some sense, Mandfeish’s inability to speak prevented his life from progressing for a while.

”I... you....”

”Weren’t you very talkative before, why can’t you speak now? Didn’t I already tell you what I thought about humans when you asked me?

Although not very fond, there wasn’t much resistance either, but... this is your ability user state, right? How can you swim then?”

This was the reason Rushaka didn’t spell it out; she suspected Mandfeish wasn’t a fish-man but wasn’t certain because of his ability.

Fishman Island wasn’t as closed off as Wano Kuni, unaware of what ability users were, many who ate the fruits didn’t even know they were ability users.

Hence, Mandfeish’s ability to swim shattered Rushaka’s fixed cognition.

”Ah, that’s the power of that great man, let me tell you...”

As Mandfeish began to extol the Arceus Sect, outside the door, Jack witnessed the passage of time, this so-called ’quick’ Mandfeish spoke of was completely different.

In his boring wait, the royal procession appeared outside...
