Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 383: Chapter 382: Some Affection, But Not Much

There are many delicious things in the world, and due to the differences in human taste, for everyone, the definition of delicious varies, and some foods might even evoke two extreme reactions, like fishwort or cilantro.

For those who like it, they can’t eat without it in every meal; for those who don’t, just a whiff can be unbearable.

But the Devil Fruit is different, even though it doesn’t smell bad, it is something so disgusting that even a fool finds it hard to eat.

The extreme foul taste is a shared characteristic that the Devil Fruit brings for everyone, with Yamato as the only known exception.

The Okuchi no Makami, specially retrofitted by Arceus, made it difficult for her to understand what this so-called foul taste is.

”Cough... cough cough... such a disgusting thing...”

Swallowing the last bite of the fruit, Ulti experienced a severe retch, but nothing came up. The fruit is just its external form, once swallowed, the fruit’s power is quickly absorbed by the body.

”Little Pei, are you okay?”

”I’m fine, but sister, why do we have to eat this? It’s horrible.”

”Just wait a bit longer, the transformation should come soon...”

For most abilities, as long as one eats the fruit, they will know the ability it brings. Brook’s Revive-Revive Fruit is probably an exception, as nobody would dare to try out an ability that triggers only after dying once.

The Zoan type is different, the most basic three-stage transformation can be quickly mastered even by a child, however, as these fruits are mythical Zoan types, it takes considerable time to completely harness the ”mythical” power they bring.

Ulti felt her ability first, as there was a wriggling under her skirt, quickly a green tail burst through her clothing and slapped the ground.

Green scale armor wrapped her body, her hand turned into slender dragon claws, with crimson tips. In her Human-Beast Form, there wasn’t much difference between her and Pachycephalosaurus users in the original timeline.

But at the connection of her upper and lower jaws, two battle axes formed with a thirty-degree slant, Haxorus’s prideful battle fangs, with extraordinary destructive power, capable of easily slicing through steel pillars.

The position where the sharp teeth protrude just happens to be the outer edge of her mask, which was special, neither a head-worn nor ear-hooked, but more like a suction cup mask.

However, this ability isn’t so simple, Queen has already proven with medicine that the body structure of Zoan-type ability users can be changed, so this particular Haxorus ability has some peculiarities.

An inexplicable will made Ulti bring her arms close to her face, and then those teeth detached like assembly parts, attaching to the scale armor on her arms to form two pairs of external axe blades.

Fake Axe Emperor - Axe Hand Morgan, Real Axe Emperor - Ulti.

She could wield the power of her battle fangs with either her head or her hands.

Although it seemed somewhat unscientific, referencing the Triceratops using its spinning bone discs as helicopter blades, Queen’s modifications of the Brachiosaurus Serpent, Ulti’s transformation wasn’t that surprising.

As Ulti underwent her transformation, Page One’s body also began to swell.

Black purple scales covered his body; at a glance, they didn’t even look like scales, combined they appeared just like shark skin.

Seemingly smooth, yet capable of inflicting severe abrasions on enemies.

Due to the different prototype, his Garchomp was much larger than Ulti, especially since his change was into Beast Form.

For the first time since birth, his height surpassed Ulti’s and was nearly three times hers. But with the large rooms on Ghost Island, this wasn’t a problem.

”Wow, Little Pei, you’ve gotten so big, that’s great.”

Seeing the enlarged Page One, Ulti showed no fear; instead, she climbed onto his back. If she didn’t have scale armor, she might have gotten skinned. Page One couldn’t quite control those things yet.

”Sister? What are you doing?”

”Nothing, I used to hold you; now that you’ve grown up, you can carry me.”

In summary, this sister has love for her brother, but perhaps not much, and she’s quite peculiar.

At this moment, Ulti was clinging to Page One’s dorsal fin, wobbling on his back, then he, unfamiliar with his new body, tumbled to the ground.

The commotion startled the siblings, though after a long wait, no one seemed to notice their big movements.

”Phew, these people sleep like the dead. Little Pei, are you okay? Why did you suddenly fall, are you alright?”

”Sis, before you ask that... could you get off me first?”

In Page One’s few memories, most of them were filled with Ulti’s figure, both good and bad.

For instance, almost choking him while feeding water, or almost suffocating him while covering him with a quilt, but in real danger, she always shielded him, giving Page One a complex feeling towards his sister Ulti.

In danger, he could count on her; without danger, she was his biggest threat, like now.

The two tossed and turned almost the entire night before falling asleep. But just at dawn, they were awakened by an explosion and Yamato’s helpless yet resigned angry scolding, as Kaidou started his impromptu testing again.

Even the siblings Ulti and Page One weren’t spared, swept up by the spreading flame clouds.

Although he deliberately gave them suitable fruits due to their father’s relationship, it also meant their hellish days started early.

”Run, you have to live up to those two fruits. Powerful abilities can’t be wasted due to a weak body; now run!”

Under forced training, Ulti increasingly felt she’d been tricked by Kaidou.

Time quickly moved on to February 1506. In the time passed, many things happened on The Sea, like Red Hair Shanks arriving at the East Sea, inviting a man named Yasopp to join his crew.

In the forests of the Drum Kingdom, a herd of reindeer gave birth to a batch of new fawns, in Goa Kingdom, Ace and Sabo met for the first time and became friends, and Ulti was scolded a few times by Shaina.

She hadn’t remembered Yamato’s advice, leading to her stubborn mouth causing much suffering, but she gained enough experience and lessons, understanding the importance of manners and respect, especially towards Arceus.

She definitely didn’t want to get spanked again in front of her brother, Shaina had a truly heavy hand.

Getting a tsundere to obey verbally was already a severe level of discipline.
