Arceus's Pirate Journey

Chapter 373: Chapter 372: Is This... Hundred Beasts?!

It’s hard to find the ideal living environment for Perona here. Even the largest cemetery in Ringo can’t manage that, and although Ringo has a lot of snow during the winter, there are sunny days too.

Plus, Perona isn’t fond of the snowy environment. If she were born in Ringo, she’d likely die from the extreme cold. Under the closed policy, Wano Kuni is a paradise for the upper class but not for the lower.

If not for the mild climate of her birthplace, the chance of surviving in a cemetery with just a teddy bear would be very slim.

Yet, there are always more solutions than problems. Ghosts singing songs of curses and damp environments don’t exist here or in Wano Kuni, which also lacks castle-like buildings. However, creating a spooky room isn’t difficult.

Just cover the windows and use black cloth for decoration. While this might lack sunlight, in this world where a missing tooth can be restored with milk, this is no big issue.

As Setsuna was learning how to set up Perona’s new home, the Hancock sisters, led by Olga, arrived at their residence on Ghost Island.

As an officer, she not only has power and an exclusive activity room but also a standalone living space similar to a large flat on Ghost Island.

Arranging for three more people is a simple task for her.

The place where Hancock and her sisters live is separate from Yamato and others, as their roles were inherently different.

”Alright, you three can stay here temporarily. When the time comes, you’ll be sent back to the Nine Snakes, but if you change your mind and decide to stay, just let me know anytime.”

The style of the Hundred Beasts is now easy to join, hard to ascend, and no way out.

Joining the Hundred Beasts isn’t difficult; as long as one has certain talents or showcases corresponding value, and after passing the initial review, the person becomes a member of the Beast Pirates.

Hard to ascend is relative. Without enough strength, gaining status within the Hundred Beasts is as hard as reaching the sky, but if one is strong enough, then status is only a matter of time.

The so-called no way out means they don’t accept traitors or mid-way exits. Even the ordinary pirates, once they join the Hundred Beasts and choose not to leave, are properly settled now.

Compensation for those who died in battle and positions for the disabled are both similar; many grassroots security jobs within Wano are handled by such pirates.

Like Hafat, who is in charge of agricultural product procurement in Kuri, who couldn’t continue fighting after being injured.

However, wanting a mid-way exit is impossible. Such behavior equals rebellion, although if the reason is appropriate, their stationed position can be adjusted, but if one just doesn’t want to do it anymore, then they will face retribution.

The pirate world is not a playhouse where you can come and go as you please.

Of course, one can leave if they can continuously defeat all the top officers, then they earn the qualification to exit the pirate group.

Unless it’s someone like Nightin, who exchanged her unique skills and abilities for a special status of working for the Hundred Beasts. People who do not join Hundred Beasts but work for them have no such limitations on their freedom.

”Olga... Sister, do you also live here?”

”My room is next to yours, and across the hall is my old man. You can ask him for help if you need it. Though he doesn’t look serious, he’s quite reliable, but he’s hardly around during the day.

The room at the side is occupied by a doctor. You can find her if you’re not feeling well.”

Next to Asie’s room is Nightin’s, and Olga couldn’t explain their relationship, but they are often seen playing tennis together.

”Oh, by the way, these are your ID cards. You can come and go on Ghost Island, but don’t go near places without permission, otherwise...”

She gestured her hand across her neck in a slicing motion, making her point very clear.

”Understood, we got it.”

Amazon Lily also has restricted areas; trespassers are sent to the arena. Being another pirate nation, Hancock and her sisters easily accepted these rules.

Olga left the area, watched by Hancock’s uneasy gaze. She wanted to check if her old man had made any trouble during her voyage.

...

”Sister, sister! She’s already gone!”

Olga had closed the door and left, yet Hancock’s gaze hadn’t moved away from the door, prompting Sandersonia and Marigold to call her back again.

Without undergoing three years of slavery, their figures hadn’t changed yet. Although Sandersonia’s head was rounder than her sisters’, as the little sister, Marigold resembled Hancock more.

In the original timeline, she started bulking up with sumo hotpot for strength, eventually developing a robust Armament Haki at the cost of becoming quite round.

”Okay, I got it. Alright, Mary and Sanda, prepare to live here. The people of Nine Snakes will probably understand the situation and not worry too much.”

She glanced around the room’s decor. Although it belonged to Olga’s private space, it seemed barely lived in; she usually just shared it with Elizabeth, a lizard.

The first batch of slaves she brought back became servants after settling on Ghost Island, keeping the place very clean.

From the window, they could see much of Wano, and Ringo’s and Hakumai’s seasonal landscapes unfolded before their eyes.

Even some tree crowns of the Flower Capital’s replanted tree could be seen as shadows.

Though named like a country, Wano’s land area isn’t too large—over four thousand square kilometers, with a population of over a million. In other places, it would just be a fairly sizable city.

”Such a beautiful country, where on earth is this?”

Olga hadn’t told them the country’s name; they only knew the term Ghost Island.

”The Hundred Beasts Pirates... Sister, have you heard of this pirate crew?”

”Hundred Beasts?”

In the eyes of the Amazon Lily, the Great Pirate Era was a time when anyone could become a pirate. During their first voyage, they were unaware of the outside world’s changes.

Olga’s subordinate had only shown them her wanted poster for a brief moment, and they hadn’t had the chance to see the details, but now Mary spotted some wanted posters on the walls.

Using the captain’s and companions’ wanted posters as wall decor is popular among pirates, though it can sometimes feel peculiar, as if implying you’d trade them in for a reward.

Arceus and Kaidou’s wanted posters were placed side by side in the first row.

”One, ten, hundred, thousand... billion... ten billion?!”

The two wanted posters on the wall, each totaling ten digits, were shocking for the three sisters during their first voyage—surpassing anything they knew from within Nine Snakes.

Today, they witnessed for the first time what an overlord-level pirate on The Sea looked like...
